Systems, devices, and methods for interfacing with biological tissue are described herein. An example electrode patch as described herein includes a flexible substrate and an electrode array arranged on the flexible substrate. The electrode array includes a plurality of electrodes, where each of the plurality of electrodes is formed of a hydrogel. Additionally, each of the plurality of electrodes defines a raised geometry. Additionally, an example system includes the electrode patch, which is configured to interface with a subject's skin, and an electronics module operably coupled to the electrode array.
Stereo-thermo-lesioning to treat a patient's neurological condition
This disclosure relates to using stereo-thermo-lesioning (STL) to create lesions at one or more locations in the patient's nervous system at the patient's bedside without general anesthesia. A method that uses STL to treat a patient's neurological condition includes: using a plurality of stereotactically-implanted thermo-coupled multi-contact electrodes to record conduction data within a predetermined theoretical zone of activity within the patient's neurological tissue; detecting abnormal neurological activity of a neurological condition within the conduction data and localize a portion of the predetermined theoretical zone of activity that is responsible for a primary organization of the abnormal neurological activity; creating a lesion at the portion of the predetermined theoretical zone of activity that is responsible for a primary organization of the abnormal neurological activity using at least one contact of the plurality of thermo-coupled multi-contact electrodes.
TWO-WAY DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT DEVICE CAPABLE OF CONNECTING BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT
A two-way diagnosis and treatment device capable of connecting blood pressure measurement comprises a power supply unit, a high-voltage diagnosis and treatment unit, an input unit, a microprocessor, a signal conversion unit, a signal transmission unit, an intelligent device, and a blood pressure measuring device, the intelligent device is connected to the signal transmission unit to obtain a diagnosis and treatment signal of the high-voltage diagnosis and treatment unit and is connected to the blood pressure measuring device to obtain a measurement signal, and has an application software for correspondingly processing the diagnosis and treatment signal and displaying a corresponding blood pressure on the intelligent device according to the measurement signal. The application software provides a usage advice on the input unit according to the blood pressure and the diagnosis and treatment signal. The input unit controls the high-voltage diagnosis and treatment unit to perform diagnosis and treatment.
Communication devices, methods, and systems
Numerous aspects of communication devices, methods, and systems are described in this application. One aspect is an apparatus comprising an energy generator comprising a plurality of generator elements operable to output a plurality of different energy types in a signal direction toward the skin. Each generator element of the plurality of generator elements may be independently operable, when the energy generator is positioned relative to skin, to communicate with different nerves associated with the skin by outputting a different portion of an energy signal in the signal direction toward the skin with one energy type of the plurality of different energy types.
MASSAGE DEVICE
A massager (1) includes a main body (2) that has a plate shape and applies a massage by sliding a peripheral edge (21) of the main body (2) on skin, and at least one rotating body (3). The rotating body (3) is disposed so as to protrude outward from the peripheral edge (21) of the main body (2). The rotation axis (31) of the rotating body (3) extends outward through the peripheral edge (21) of the main body (2).
Dynamic mandibular and lingual repositioning devices, controller station, and methods of treating and/or diagnosing medical disorders
Mandibular repositioning devices have a mandibular piece having a first teeth covering and having a housing proximate each of a left molar portion and a right molar portion, a protrusive flange extending cranially from each housing, and a maxillary piece having a second teeth covering and having a housing proximate each of a left molar portion and a right molar portion. Each housing encloses a power source electrically connected an on-board circuit board and the housings of the maxillary piece further have the power source electrically connected to a motor operatively connected to a drive for anterior and posterior movements of the mandibular piece. The maxillary piece sits on the mandibular piece with the driver operatively engaged with the protrusive flange. The protrusive flange has a concavely-shaped anterior surface mated to a convexly-shaped head of the driver shaped to match the concavely-shaped anterior surface of the protrusive flange.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INHIBITING THE GROWTH OF PROLIFERATING CELLS OR VIRUSES
The present invention provides a method of inhibiting the growth of proliferating cells, viruses or bacteria in living tissue, the method comprising: applying low to mid-level frequency Alternating Current electromagnetic signals to the living tissue with a transducer comprising a magnetically conductive material passing through a conduction ring energized by an electrical signal to create the low to mid-level frequency AC current electromagnetic signals within the living tissue; wherein the low to mid-level frequency AC current electromagnetic signals have a frequency in the range of about 50 kHz to about 300 kHz and are produced with an AC voltage generator; and circulating fluid in the living tissue provide a secondary coil for the transmission of the low to mid-level frequency AC current electromagnetic signals.
