Prevention of biofilm formation
Antibacterial coatings and methods of making the antibacterial coatings are described herein. A first branched polyethylenimine (BPEI) layer is formed and a first glyoxal layer is formed on a surface of the BPEI layer. The first BPEI layer and the first glyoxal layer are cured to form a crosslinked BPEI coating. The first BPEI layer can be modified with superhydrophobic moieties, superhydrophilic moieties, or negatively charged moieties to increase the antifouling characteristics of the coating. The first BPEI layer can be modified with contact-killing bactericidal moieties to increase the bactericidal characteristics of the coating.

A method of controlling operation of a neurostimulation device comprises receiving, by the neurostimulation device, an indication of a physiological search area of a subject for delivering electrical neurostimulation and a prioritized search list of neurostimulation parameters for neurostimulation therapy delivered to the search area; delivering the neurostimulation therapy to the search area and varying the neurostimulation parameters according to the parameter priority, wherein a highest priority parameter is varied first while lower priority parameters are held constant; determining the optimum value of the highest priority parameter; delivering neurostimulation to the search area using the determined optimum value of the highest priority parameter and varying one or more lower priority parameters according to the parameter priority; and determining optimum lower priority parameters for the neurostimulation.
POINT-AND-CLICK PROGRAMMING FOR DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION USING REAL-TIME MONOPOLAR REVIEW TRENDLINES
A system and method for selecting leadwire stimulation parameters includes a processor iteratively performing, for each of a plurality of values for a particular stimulation parameter, each value corresponding to a respective current field: (a) shifting the current field longitudinally and/or rotationally to a respective plurality of locations about the leadwire; and (b) for each of the respective plurality of locations, obtaining clinical effect information regarding a respective stimulation of the patient tissue produced by the respective current field at the respective location; and displaying a graph plotting the clinical effect information against values for the particular stimulation parameter and locations about the leadwire, and/or based on the obtained clinical effect information, identifying an optimal combination of a selected value for the particular stimulation parameter and selected location about the leadwire at which to perform a stimulation using the selected value.
Pulse Generator System for Promoting Desynchronized Firing of Recruited Neural Populations
An Implantable Pulse Generator (IPG) is disclosed that is capable of sensing a degree to which recruited neurons in a patient's tissue are firing synchronously, and of modifying a stimulation program to promote desynchronicity and to reduce paresthesia. An evoked compound action potential (ECAP) of the recruited neurons is sensed as a measure of synchronicity by at least one non-active electrode. An ECAP algorithm operable in the IPG assesses the shape of the ECAP and determines one or more ECAP shape parameters that indicate whether the recruited neurons are firing synchronously or desynchronously. If the shape parameters indicate significant synchronicity, the ECAP algorithm can adjust the stimulation program to promote desynchronous firing.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR INTERLEAVING WAVEFORMS FOR ELECTRICAL STIMULATION AND MEASUREMENT
A system can utilize interleaving periods or waveforms to stimulate patient tissue and sense signals using the stimulation electrodes. For example, the system can utilize alternating therapeutic periods and sensing periods. As another example, the system can alternate between biphasic waveforms having opposite temporal orders of positive and negative phases. As another example, waveforms that differ in a parameter, such as amplitude or pulse width, can be interleaved to provide different information in the respective sensed signals.
Fixing device of wireless charger and wireless charging device
The present invention discloses a fixing device of a wireless charger for an implanted medical device, wherein the fixing device comprising a supporting member wearable on a patient's body and an adjustment structure connected to the supporting member, a charger fixing seat is connected to one of the supporting member and the adjustment structure, the adjustment structure comprises an adjustment strap and a fixing buckle engaging with the adjustment strap, one end of the adjustment strap is connected to the supporting member, the other end of the adjustment strap operably brings the supporting member or the charger fixing seat to be adjusted to a position where the charger fixing seat corresponds to the implanted medical device, and a position where the adjustment strap engages with the fixing buckle can be adjusted and locked.
Multi-Layer-Multi-Turn Structure for High Efficiency Wireless Communication
A structure for wireless communication having a plurality of conductor layers, an insulator layer separating each of the conductor layers, and at least one connector connecting two of the conductor layers wherein an electrical resistance is reduced when an electrical signal is induced in the resonator at a predetermined frequency. The structure is capable of transmitting or receiving electrical energy and/or data at various near and far field magnetic coupling frequencies.
Neural interface insertion and retraction tools
Devices and methods for manipulating devices such as micro-scale devices are provided. The devices can include a tether of various materials surrounded by a stiff body. The tether interfaces with microscale devices to draw them against the stiff body, holding the microscale devices in a locked position for insertion into or extraction out of tissue. The tensional hook and stiff body are configurable in a multitude of positions and geometries to provide increased engagement. Such configurations allow for a range of implantation and extraction surgical procedures for the device within research and clinical settings.
