20220261013 · 2022-08-18 ·

A method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for avoiding collisions between a subject and a radiotherapy device are provided. At a first time point, first location information for the subject is measured using a first sensor and a second sensor. A spatial profile of the subject is determined based on the first location information. At a second time point, second location information for the subject is measured using the first sensor. At this second time point, a line of sight between the second sensor and the subject is obscured. It is determined whether a collision is expected to occur between the subject and the radiotherapy device based on the spatial profile and the second location information.

A cabin type beam irradiation apparatus and a method for performing beam irradiation method are provided. According to an embodiment, the beam irradiation apparatus comprises: a gantry having a hollow frame structure, the hollow portion of which being formed as a treatment cabin; a first guide rail, which is fixedly arranged on the frame; a treatment head, which is slidably arranged on the first guide rail; and an entry door, which may be openably and closably arranged on the gantry. The beam irradiation apparatus can perform radiotherapy on patients in a standing or sitting posture. Imaging guidance is additionally used to ensure the accuracy of the treatment position, and thus highly focused radiation is achieved by (non)coplanar radiotherapy. Further, the apparatus may have self-shielding function, and can reduce the difficulty and cost for construction of a machine room.

Machine vision alignment and positioning system for electron beam treatment systems

The present invention provides improved methods and apparatus that use machine vision techniques to rapidly and automatically guide objects into desired docking configurations. The present invention is based at least in part upon using multi-depth, rotationally symmetric targets that are observed from two or more observation perspectives. By taking advantage of parallax effects associated with the multi-depth topography of the target, the apparent positions of target features in captured image information encodes position and angular alignment of the objects relative to each other in three dimensional space. The practice of the present invention provides a fast, accurate, reliable and automatic approach to achieve hard or soft docking configurations in the electron beam therapies as well as to implement real-time gating and tracking during the course of a treatment.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MOTION TRACKING IN RADIATION THERAPY

A system for radiation therapy may obtain a plurality of sets of motion data each of which corresponds to one of a plurality of motion phases of a subject. A set of motion data corresponding to a motion phase may include first physiological motion data and second physiological motion reflecting a physiological motion during the motion phase. The first physiological motion data and the second physiological motion data may be collected via a medical imaging device and a first motion sensor, respectively. The system may also direct a radiotherapy device to deliver a radiation treatment to the subject according to a treatment plan. During the radiation treatment, the system may obtain target physiological motion data reflecting the physiological motion of the subject, the target physiological motion data being collected via a second motion sensor; and adjust the treatment plan to adapt to the physiological motion of the subject.
