Low friction rehabilitation board with an integral band retaining feature and methods of rehabilitation
A low friction rehabilitation board having an integral band retaining feature is described. The rehabilitation board may have a coefficient of static friction of no more than about 0.5 and in some embodiments no more than about 0.06. The rehabilitation board has a plurality of band retaining feature configured along one or both ends and may be an integral band retaining features being formed in the board. Additionally, the rehabilitation may include one or more band retaining features on one or both sides of the board. The unique configuration of the band retaining features enables rehabilitation method heretofore not possible with a single board. Resistance bands may be retained in the band retaining features and coupled to a user's limb, such as a foot or ankle, to resist motion, such as sliding or extending the foot along the low friction surface of the rehabilitation board.
Exercising device for stimulating deep muscles and method for operating the exercising device
An exercising device for fitness training includes a main body forming a container, and a first end and a second end. The main body defines a length between the first end and the second end. The container has an outer surface, an inner surface, and a substantially hollow cylindrical shape with a cross-section which varies between the first end and the second end such that the outer surface and the inner surface define a waveform. A first cover is detachably arranged on the first end and a second cover is detachably arranged on the second end. The container can be filled with a liquid which causes the exercising device to vibrate when it flows through the main body at varying speeds. In addition, a method for operating the exercising device is provided.
ANKLE REHABILITATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE USE THEREOF
An ankle rehabilitation device that is simple, affordable, durable, cost effective, easy to use, and portable is provided. The ankle rehabilitation device includes a plate member, one or more straps fixed to a front surface of the plate member and configured to hold a user's foot, and two rings fixed to a rear surface of the plate member wherein the two rings are aligned in a lateral direction of the plate member and spaced by a predetermined distance. Through the use of a method and the device in accordance with the present invention, a user who has a mild or moderate ankle injury will be able to perform an affordable ankle exercise without clinicians' assist, thereby restoring the ankle strength.
FITNESS MACHINE WITH ARC PLATES
Improved designs for exercise machines that facilitate muscle development and other therapeutics are disclosed. The machine includes a frame, a pulley assembly, and cable extending through the pulley assembly. The cable has attachments, including an attachment for connecting to a pull handle. The cable is also connected to a selectively variable moveable resistance unit. This unit is structured to provide an elastic resistance when a pulling force is applied to the pull handle. The unit is connected to the cable and includes an elastomeric body that provides the elastic resistance and also includes an arc plate that provides a curved support member on which a portion of the elastomeric body at least partially wraps around. Movement of the arc plate causes the elastomeric body to stretch and to provide the elastic resistance.
ABDOMINAL EXERCISE DEVICE
An abdominal exercise device includes a frame comprising top, middle, and bottom frame sections. The middle frame section has a curved shape for creating a teeter-totter movement during exercise. The device includes a headrest connected to the bottom frame section, a plurality of connectors for connecting elastic bands to the frame, and an elastic band connected to at least two connectors. The two ends of the elastic band are connected to two straps. The device creates the teeter-totter movement to exercise the abdominal muscles in response to a person lying down in supine position with the back of the head on the headrest and the feet in the two straps, the person applying a downward pressure with the feet to the straps to move the headrest from a resting position, and the person removing the downward pressure to allow the headrest to go back to the resting position.
GLIDE HANDLE TRAINING DEVICE
An exercise device in the form of a glide handle typically includes an elongated handle body, a strap or other suitable connecting member attaching the handle to a swivel, and a pulley assembly attached to the swivel. The pulley engages a cord which is attached to fixed objects or loads, and a user employs the handle to displace the cord. The combination of the swivel with the pulley allows the handle to be moved relative to the cord in a smooth continuous motion and in a plurality of directions. The glide handle may be used to strengthen and stretch a muscle, joint, or connective tissue, and to improve range of motion for joints. The device may be incorporated into fitness and physical therapy programs.
Exercise band bar
An exercise device comprising a handlebar structure for securing the ends of a wide, flat, elastic exercise or therapy band quickly, easily, and uniformly to the ends of the handlebar, and further allowing rapid, uniform, balanced adjustments of the band by rolling and unrolling ends of the exercise band around the ends of the handlebar while in use and without change in the user's position.
BICEPS EXERCISE DEVICE AND METHODS OF USE
Methods and apparatus for exercising muscles are disclosed, including a system that enables a person to perform an exercise that directly targets the biceps and minimizes activation of the forearm muscles. Embodiments of the invention also afford a user with the ability to utilize a single dumbbell in conjunction with a platform of the invention to target both biceps simultaneously. An exercise band may also be attached to a platform of the invention while performing an exercise which may then be performed with or without an inserted dumbbell. Additionally, embodiments of the invention enable a user to utilize an attachment mechanism in conjunction with a platform of the invention to utilize kettlebells, cable machines, resistance/exercise bands or other structures to provide a means of resistance while performing an exercise using the invention.
Double retractable rowing resistance system with configurable and convertible swinging seat-based exercise machine
An exercise machine is described that incorporates a double retractable resistance band system for rowing exercises and that includes a multi-purpose, morphable swinging seat assembly that applies to convertible exercise machines and rowing boats. The double retractable rowing system is detachably integrated into a base plate (inclined planar board) of the exercise machine. The base plate consists of a platform set at an angle consistent with the foot-placements of sit-down rowing machines and rowing shells together with an integral set of quick-release slots located above and to the outside of the toes of the foot placement positions. The multi-purpose, morphable swinging seat assembly provides an improved method/structural assembly for seat-based rowing machines, convertible/multi-purpose exercise machines and an improved architecture for boat-based rowing systems.
STRETCHING DEVICE AND METHODS RELATING TO SAME
A stretching device comprising an elongated band having a first end and a second end, a first handle coupled to the band proximate the first end, a second handle coupled to the band proximate the second end, and a boot coupled to the band between the first end and the second end, the boot adapted to engage with a body part of a person, horse, or other animal.
