A portable exercise device that allows a person to do Pilates type exercises without using traditional, cumbersome equipment. The device uses a pair of wheel assemblies each attached to each end of a central shaft. The shaft height can be adjusted from the center of each wheel to a lower point closer to the ground. Adjustable cam lockable hand/foot plates are attached to the shaft allowing the user to attach his or her feet to the shaft. Each hand/foot plate assembly includes a rotational plate that allows the hand/foot plate to be positioned at various angles in relation to the shaft. Resistance bands are attached on one side to the shaft and on the opposite side to a resistance source. The resistance source can be the user's own hands or feet, or a retaining strap attached to the lower portion of a door or wall.

The base element includes a plurality of apertures and/or slits to which one or more bands and/or straps may be attached. In one embodiment, the fitness assembly also includes one or more accessories that enable the fitness assembly to be used to perform exercises such as boxing, squats, rowing, bicep curls, and others.

The resistance band system of the disclosure includes one or more resistance bands, and a pair of handles which secure the ends of the one or more resistance bands. Each handle locks onto one of the ends of each resistance band. The handle is adapted to grip the resistance band with greater force when force is applied to the resistance band, such as when it is in use. The handle unlocks to release the ends of one or more of the resistance bands from the handles for changing of one or more of the resistance bands.

The system includes a pair of mounts configurable over an intended surface, a pair of bracket assembles releasably mountable over the mounts, a strap with extending around one or more pulleys of one of the bracket assemblies and operatively connecting to a securing device, a resistance band releasably mountable around a retainer member of one of the bracket assemblies and another coupled to the securing device. The securing device is selectively operated during initial set up to allow the user to adopt to an appropriate position to connect an external exercising accessory to the strap for performing an exercise. The user is able to select the desired resistance for the exercise, or reduce the selected resistance, or combine resistances for even greater resistance by selecting appropriate resistance bands, and/or changing the tension applied on the strap.

A fitness device comprising a foldable base that hinges to an upright body with laterally folding arms. Extension bars extend out from the base to provide additional stability. A seat moves up and down in a channel in the body. An assortment of resistance bands can be attached to the base, the seat, or to the arms when they are extended. The seat can be removed from the channel and hung over the top of a door such that the resistance bands hang from above a user's head to provide additional exercises. The base folds in on itself and can rotate against the body, such that the device is easily transported.

Specifically, a dip apparatus according to the present teachings may include side structures that are pivotable towards a central support structure to reduce a footprint of the dip apparatus, e.g., for storage. Further, the side structures may include support bars that are structurally configured for engagement with a resistance band, where the support bars are located below gripping bars of the dip apparatus. To this end, the present teachings include an exercise system featuring the aforementioned dip apparatus and resistance bands, where a user can engage a resistance band with each of the side structures of the dip apparatus such that a user can place his/her knees on the resistance band for support when performing a dip exercise.
