PORTABLE DEVICES FOR EXERCISING MUSCLES IN THE ANKLE, FOOT, AND/OR LEG, AND RELATED METHODS
A method for exercising muscles in an ankle, foot, and/or leg of a user includes positioning a foot of a user onto a first body of an exercise device. The first body is spaced away from a second body of the device and pivotably connected to the second body of the device at a pivot axis. The pivot axis is adjacent to a central portion of the first body. The method includes rotating the first body about the pivot axis, with the foot, against a first resistive force. Rotating the first body includes subjecting the foot to a first motion. The method includes positioning the foot onto the second body. The method includes rotating the second body about the pivot axis, with the foot, against a second resistive force. Rotating the second body includes subjecting the foot to a second motion, the second motion being different than the first motion.
LOW FRICTION REHABILITATION BOARD WITH AN INTEGRAL BAND RETAINING FEATURE AND METHODS OF REHABILITATION
A low friction rehabilitation board having an integral band retaining feature is described. The rehabilitation board may have a coefficient of static friction of no more than about 0.5 and in some embodiments no more than about 0.06. The rehabilitation board has a plurality of band retaining feature configured along one or both ends and may be an integral band retaining features being formed in the board. Additionally, the rehabilitation may include one or more band retaining features on one or both sides of the board. The unique configuration of the band retaining features enables rehabilitation method heretofore not possible with a single board. Resistance bands may be retained in the band retaining features and coupled to a user's limb, such as a foot or ankle, to resist motion, such as sliding or extending the foot along the low friction surface of the rehabilitation board.
PHYSICAL THERAPY AND FITNESS DEVICE: RESISTANCE BANDS WITH PEDALS
A physical therapy device with a pair of handles and one or more balance pedals. The balance pedal(s) are slidable along one or more bands attached, directly or indirectly, to the handles.
FOOTREST FOR ROWING MACHINE
A footrest includes a base plate, two supports and two clipless pedals. The base plate has a first set of adjustment holes arranged in two rows. Each of the supports has a bottom and a pivoting seat. The bottom has two fixing holes corresponding to the first set of adjustment holes in two rows. The pivoting seat has a pivoting hole. Each of the supports is fixed onto the base plate by fastening bolts passing through the fixing holes and selective two of the first set of adjustment holes. The clipless pedals are separately screwed into the pivoting holes.
PORTABLE DEVICES FOR EXERCISING MUSCLES IN THE ANKLE, FOOT, AND/OR LEG, AND RELATED METHODS
A portable exercise device includes a pedal spaced away from and pivotably connected to a base and having a neutral position relative to a pivot axis. The pedal is configured to rotate about the pivot axis in a first direction toward the base and in a second direction, opposite the first direction, toward the base. The device also includes a resistance mechanism configured to exert a force on the pedal about the pivot axis in a direction opposite to the respective direction of rotation of the pedal. The device is movable between an open, in-use configuration, where the pedal is disposed in the neutral position to receive a foot and spaced away from the base, and a closed configuration, where the pedal is adjacent the base.
Resistance device
A device and method may be provided including at least one handle and at least one anchor point. The device may be operable to provide a resistance to a user of the device who fixes the device using the anchor point and pulls on the handle. The device may include a casing; a center rod rotatable mounted in the casing; a cable wound around the center rod and coupled to the handle; and a mechanism mounted on the central rod. The mechanism may be responsive with a centrifugal force to movement of the cable to rotate the central rod. The mechanism may include an anchor coupled to the central rod, and at least one weight connected by a wire to a ring that is movable along the central rod against the resistance of a spring.
Yoga strap
An improved yoga strap comprising at least two adjustable and locking buckles, one buckle at end of the improved yoga strap to create a loop at each end of the yoga strap, giving the improved yoga strap more utilitarian applications than a standard yoga strap. A second embodiment of an improved yoga strap has a center loop. A third embodiment has an elastic resistance band and clips.
Apparatus for back improvement and lower-back and knees pain relieving
Apparatus for back improvement and lower-back pain and knees relieving, the apparatus including, for each foot of a user, a pedal shiftable along a linear axis, for allowing a foot of the user to exert force on the pedal, a sensor, for continuously sensing a force exerted on the pedal by the foot, a linear actuator having a longitudinal bore in a piston thereof, the linear actuator being configured to move the piston away from the pedal when the force on the pedal exceeds a first threshold, and a controller for reading a sensing of the sensor, the controller being adapted to instruct the mechanism to move the piston away from the pedal such that the pedal retracts in response to pressure exerted by the foot.
FOOT SUPPORTS WITH FIT ENHANCEMENT FEATURES FOR AN EXERCISE MACHINE
A foot support assembly for an exercise machine may be configured for sing-hand operation (e.g., cinching or releasing of the foot strap), The foot support assembly may include a footplate coupled to the frame of the exercise machine and configured to support the user's foot during exercise and a strap coupled to the footplate and configured to resist separation of the user's foot from the footplate. The strap is operatively associated with a quick release ratchet mechanism, which is configured to be unlocked simply by pressing a lever of the ratchet to allow the ratchet strip to reverse, releasing the user's foot from the strap. The foot support assembly may be provided on each side of the seat rail of a rowing machine, which may alternatively or additionally include a multi-grip handle including a plurality of grip portions configured to position the user's hand at different orientations to one another.
WEARABLE DEVICE USING FLEXIBLE NON-POWERED VARIABLE IMPEDANCE MECHANISM
The present invention relates to a wearable device using a flexible non-powered variable impedance mechanism, wherein the device can induce a user to have a correct posture during a squat exercise or lifting work, and can assist the user's muscular strength. According to the present invention, an angle between a (1-1)th lower string and a (1-2)th lower string and an angle between a (2-1)th lower string and a (2-2)th lower string change according to a knee angle depending on the user's posture, whereby an impedance mechanism that the user feels through the body changes.
