Intermittent spigot joint for gas turbine engine casing connection
A gas turbine engine casing apparatus includes annular first and second annular cases connected by a spigot joint. The spigot joint includes an annular projection of the first annular case fitted into an annular recess of the second annular case. A plurality of circumferentially spaced apart scallops are formed on one of surfaces of the annular projection or of the annular recess, and are located in selective circumferential locations adjacent respective enhanced stiff areas of the first and second annular cases.
Beam joining apparatus with bolt and threaded wedge
A first beam (1) is inserted through a transverse opening (4) in a tubular second beam (2). A bolt (7) is inserted through unthreaded holes (9A, 9B) in the second beam. The bolt may be transverse to both beams. A wedge (5) is threaded onto the bolt inside the second beam (2). Tightening the bolt moves the wedge against a side of the first beam, forcing it against surfaces (11, 12, 13) of the transverse opening (4) opposite the wedge. The bolt counters the reaction to this force. The beams can be formed as extrusions. The joint only requires machining for the transverse opening (4) and smoothbore bolt holes (9A, 9B) for a single bolt. The second beam may have a rectangular cross section with relatively thicker corners (2A-2D) and thinner mid-walls (2E-2H).
Load bearing clamp for transmitting loads to a shaft
A load bearing clamp including a first clamp member, the first clamp member including a first semi-annular clamping surface, a second clamp member, the second clamp member including a second semi-annular clamping surface, the second semi-annular clamping surface opposing the first semi-annular clamping surface and at least one member for drawing the first clamp member and the second clamp member toward each other, wherein at least one of the first semi-annular clamp surface and the second semi-annular clamp surface includes at least one irregular surface that deforms at least a portion of a shaft clamped between the first and second clamp members.
Clamp device for use with a decompression panel in an aircraft assembly
A clamp device includes a clamp portion defining a threaded opening therein. The clamp portion is configured to contact a first side of a beam. The clamp device also includes a threaded fastener configured for insertion into the threaded opening via a hole defined within the decompression panel. The clamp device causes the decompression panel to contact a second side of the beam when the threaded fastener is tightened within the threaded opening.
Panel mount system
A panel mount for non penetrative fastening of a panel (such as a glass pane) able to be mounted to a structure, and preferably to a vertical or side surface of that structure, which provides a pair of clamp jaws defining an elongate slot in which an edge of a panel can be received and an intermediate clamping member associated with each jaw, each intermediate clamping member having at least one threaded member associated therewith to facilitate adjustment of the position and orientation of the intermediate member within the clamp jaw so as to securely retain the panel within the slot.
QUICK-RELEASE ADAPTER
A quick-release adapter consists of a top unit and a base unit. The top unit has a downwardly-extending cylindrical hub with multiple lobes extending radially outward from the hub. The lobes each have an inclined upper surface and a flat, horizontal lower surface. The base unit has a cavity that is sized and shaped to match the lower portion of the top unit, with multiple lobe-shaped openings and side walls with inclined upper surfaces that match the incline of the upper surfaces of the lobes. A detent plunger protrudes through the lower surface of the cavity at a location that is 45 offset from the center of one of the lobe-shaped openings. In operation, the top unit is aligned with the base unit so that the lobes of the top unit are aligned with the lobe-shaped openings. The top unit is then inserted into the base unit so that the lower surface of one of the lobes depresses the detent plunger. The top unit is then rotated until the detent plunger engages the recess in the lower surface of one of the lobes. This locks the top unit from further rotation. A tension screw is then tightened so that it bears on the inclined surface of one of the lobes. The tension screw, acting in cooperation with the inclined surfaces of the lobes, forces the top unit down and away from the tension screw, thereby eliminating any potential backlash.
SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
An electronic sign having slotted frame cabinets, whereby each slotted frame cabinet can conveniently be attached to one or more vertically or horizontally positioned adjacent slotted frame cabinets by using connecting components which are generally located around the periphery of one or more slotted frame cabinets. Connecting components including splice bars, splice plates, and mounting clamps are aligned in, positioned along, and secured to backing bars which are co-located in backing bar slots in one or more of the slotted frame cabinets. Lift eyes can be variably located in one or more lift eye slots. The use of externally located connecting components, which do not extend through the cabinetry, minimize the entry of environmental elements into the interior of the electronic sign. Multiple slotted frame cabinets can be connected without the removal of LED display panels. Bracket assemblies and clamping assemblies are provided.
LOAD BEARING CLAMP FOR TRANSMITTING LOADS TO A SHAFT
The present disclosure provides a load bearing clamp including a first clamp member, the first clamp member including a first semi-annular clamping surface, a second clamp member, the second clamp member including a second semi-annular clamping surface, the second semi-annular clamping surface opposing the first semi-annular clamping surface and at least one member for drawing the first clamp member and the second clamp member toward each other, wherein at least one of the first semi-annular clamp surface and the second semi-annular clamp surface includes at least one irregular surface that deforms at least a portion of a shaft clamped between the first and second clamp members.

FLANGED MATERIAL AND STANDING SEAM CLAMP
A clamping assembly for attaching loads to various kinds of flanged seams, the assembly comprising a generally U-shaped clamp body, at least one clamping hammer disposed interior of the clamp body, the clamping hammer is secured to the clamp body along the longitudinal axis of the clamp body, at least one adjustment screw extending through the clamp body and adapted to selectively impinge against the clamping hammer and cause it to pivot about its axis or otherwise move inwardly within the clamp body, the adjustment screw extending transverse to the longitudinal axis of the clamping hammer, at least one locking screw adapted to selectively impinge against the clamping hammer to prevent pivoting of the same may be optionally provided whereby a standing seam received within the clamp body may be tightly grasped between the clamp body and the clamping hammer under action of the adjustment screw.
