An exercise machine has a first frame member, a second frame member that is movable with respect to the first frame member, and a locking device having at least one cam that is rotatable into and between a locked position in which the cam abuttingly engages and thereby retains the second frame member in position with respect to the first frame member and an unlocked position in which the cam is spaced from and thereby frees the second frame member for movement with respect to the first frame member. The cam has an engagement surface with a contour that follows a logarithmic spiral curve defined by the following parametric equations: x(t)=r(t)cos(t)=ae.sup.bt cos(t), and y(t)=r(t)sin(t)=ae.sup.bt sin(t), wherein e is the base of natural logarithms and a and b are arbitrary positive real constants.

An exercise machine suitable for exercising a person's muscles contains a frame (100), a seat (102) situated over the frame, a seatback (104 or 104U), a connection mechanism (106 or 106U) for flexibly and adjustably connecting the seatback to the frame or/and the seat, and a pedaling mechanism (114 or 220) connectable to the frame and having a pair of movable pedals (140 or 224). The seatback is typically capable of swiveling. The pedals can revolve or translate back and forth. Another exercise machine contains a handle-translating mechanism (220) having a pair of handles (274) that translate back and forth. The frame, seat, seatback, and connection mechanism typically in combination with one or more pairs of handles (108, 110, 240, 242, and 252) form an exercise bench.

Recumbent exercise bicycle attachment (REBA)
10751563 · 2020-08-25 ·

The Recumbent Exercise Bicycle Attachment (REBA) connects to an upright flywheel type exercise bicycle which utilizes one knob friction brake control. The functionality of the existing upright bicycle is maintained by using the REBA's modified interchangeable controls. The pedals that turn the flywheel and the resistance control of the bicycle are accessed from the REBA by utilizing the seat and rear control which are a part of the REBA. The REBA allows the user to ride either in the upright cycling position or the recumbent cycling position on one machine.

EXERCISE APPARATUS

GOLF CLUB HEAD INCLUDING MECHANICAL AND ADHESIVE JOINTS
20200188729 · 2020-06-18 ·

A golf club head includes a metallic section, a polymeric section, and an adhesive material. The metallic section defines an opening and the polymeric section extends over the opening. The adhesive material is disposed between the metallic section and the polymeric section to form an adhesive joint therebetween. The adhesive joint has an adhesive retaining strength configured to inhibit the polymeric section from being detached from the metallic section when the adhesive material is at least partially cured. The metallic section and the polymeric section are also mechanically engaged with one another to form a mechanical joint therebetween having a mechanical retaining strength configured to inhibit the polymeric section from being detached from the metallic section. The adhesive retaining strength of the adhesive joint, alone, is greater than the mechanical retaining strength of the mechanical joint, alone, only when the adhesive material is at least partially cured.
