Upper limbs rehabilitating, monitoring and/or evaluating interactive device
The present invention relates to a two-degree-of-freedom planar rehabilitating, monitoring and/or evaluating device comprising a first guiding mechanism (2), a second guiding mechanism (3), substantially parallel to the first guiding mechanism (2), a third guiding mechanism (4), substantially perpendicular to the first and second guiding mechanisms (2, 3), and an end-effector (5), wherein the third guiding mechanism (4) is connected to the first and second guiding mechanisms (2, 3), and wherein the end-effector (5) is connected to the third guiding mechanism (4). The present invention also relates to a two-degree-of-freedom planar rehabilitating, monitoring and/or evaluating interactive device adapted for rehabilitation, monitoring and/or assessment of the upper limbs of a subject, comprising said device.
Shoulder end range of motion improving device
A shoulder end range of motion improving device has a linkage, the linkage including a first link member, a second link member supported on the first link member, the second link member configured for being secured to an arm of a patient and being rotatable about a second link axis for rotating the arm of the patient about a shoulder joint of the patient through an arm range of motion, the second link axis being displaceable into a selectable fixed position, the fixed position being maintained during rotation of the second link member, an actuator for rotating the second link member about the second link axis, and a controller controlling the actuator for selectively rotating the second link member about the second link axis through the arm range of motion.
Rehabilitation training apparatus
Disclosed is a rehabilitation training apparatus. The rehabilitation training apparatus includes a pair of first tracks that are arranged in parallel at an interval, a second track movably connected to the pair of first tracks, a hand holder that is movably provided in the second track and on which a hand and an arm of a user is held, and a stopper for a track provided in at least one of the first tracks and the second track to limit movements of the second track and the hand holder.
Compliant bimanual rehabilitation device and method of use thereof
A compliant bimanual rehabilitation system. The device allows for the user or operator's hands to be coupled with a variety of coupling stiffnesses and in a variety of symmetry modes, leading to enhanced rehabilitation of the impaired arm. Structurally, the device includes a carrier assembly slidably coupled to a base along a y-axis, an upper assembly rotatably coupled to the carrier assembly along a z-axis, handle slides slidably coupled to the upper assembly along an x-axis, compliant handle assemblies coupled to the handle slides, and handles coupled to the compliant handle assemblies. Encoders and load cells can also be positioned accordingly to monitor the position of the components and force applied to the device. Spring stacks can be coupled to the compliant handle assemblies to adjust coupling stiffnesses. The handles are indirectly linked to each other to facilitate rehabilitation of the paretic arm using the sound arm.
Hand-Held Exercise Free Weights
Various hand-held exercise weights are configured to fit comfortably in a person's hand. Some embodiments define a circular loop about a central opening. Some embodiments have first and second segments that change in girth as a function of distance from a juncture defined therebetween. Some of the embodiments have handgrips of different shapes.
FOLDING EXERCISE CHAIR
A foldable exercise chair configured with removable resistance bands to allow various exercises to be performed. An embodiment of the exercise chair allows a user to perform a full range of strength-training exercises and then fold the chair to allow for storage in limited space. This embodiment of the exercise chair is also able to be configured to suit a user's exercise routine by allowing for adding, changing, and removing the resistance bands, as well as modifying the bands for various resistance levels.
GYM CAGE
An exercise apparatus has an arrangement of strategically placed attachment points on a wall structure, floor and ceiling that enables easy attachment and detachment of a variety of resistance devices (e.g., a handheld and/or inline cable operated resistance creation device, or a stretch band resistance device) to any of the vertical and/or horizontal structures, thereby providing a nearly 360 degree dimensional point of resistance to perform a wide variety of exercises for different muscle groups and subgroups of the body. In one embodiment, an adjustable resistance creation device includes a cable that winds onto a cable spool and the adjustable resistance creation device providing a constant force of resistance throughout the performance of an exercise movement as the cable is pulled and unwinds from the spool. The adjustable resistance creation device may be incorporated within a gym grip or, alternatively, attached to an exercise machine.
PROGRAMMABLE RANGE OF MOTION SYSTEM
A programmable range of motion system has a frame, a range of motion device, a controller, a computer and sensors. The frame has a seat to support a rehab patient. The range of motion device is attached to the frame. The actuator, servo or alternate mechanism selectively rotates the range of motion device through a range of motion for a rehab patient's limb. The controller controls the actuator, servo or alternate mechanism. The computer is connected electronically to the controller. The computer has a software, program or application including a plurality of programmable range of motion movements for exercising the limb. The sensor detects movements of the actuator, servo or alternate mechanism and records data back to the computer. The term actuator as used hereafter includes servo or alternate articulating mechanism.
Triceps press exercise machine with a moving user support
An exercise machine for performing triceps press exercises, including a moving user support that supports a user in a seated position. The exercise machine includes a linkage assembly that allows the moving user support to tilt as the user performs the triceps press exercise. As the user extends his or her arms from an exercise starting position to an exercise ending position, a user support frameand thus the user's torsoreclines progressively backwards. The user's natural reaction to this reclining sensation is to bring his or her head forward, which encourages the user to plant his or her lower back firmly into a stable position against a back pad and in turn reduces the risk of injury associated with excessively arching of the lower back.
