Junction Box for Snap Together Electrical Connections to Photovoltaic Panels
A junction box adapted to provide an electrical connection to an electrical wire attached to a photovoltaic panel. The junction box has a lower portion which has an entry slot to allow entry of the wire into the junction box and a raised protrusion over which the wire is bent and formed to be substantially in the same shape as the raised protrusion. The junction box also has a clamp adapted to be attachable to said lower portion, whereby the clamp holds the wire in place for providing the electrical connection. The wire is preferably bus ribbon. The lower portion preferably has an elastic polymeric element disposed between the raised portion and the wire. The raised protrusion may have an elastic polymeric element. The junction box also has an upper portion including a terminal. The terminal connects to an electrical load. The terminal is adapted to be applied under pressure onto the wire, thereby conforming the terminal to be of substantially the same shape as the protrusion. The upper portion typically has a fastener which closes the upper portion to the lower portion under pressure.
System and method for multi-stage crimping and stripping
A system for multi-stage crimping of a contact to a wire includes a first crimping die having a first portion of a selected shape defined therein, and a second crimping die having a complementary second portion of the selected shape defined therein. The system also includes the first and second crimping dies being operable to be displaced towards each other and along a first axis during a compression stroke. The first and second crimping dies are also operable to be displaced along a second axis during a closing stroke subsequent to the compression stroke, where the second axis is generally perpendicular to the first axis. In addition, the system includes the first and second crimping dies cooperating to crimp the contact into the selected shape to the wire upon completion of the closing stroke.

METHOD FOR ALIGNING A CRIMPER OF A FIRST TOOL OF A CRIMPING PRESS RELATIVE TO AN ANVIL OF A SECOND TOOL OF THE CRIMPING PRESS AND A CRIMPING PRESS DEVICE
A method for aligning a crimper of a first tool of a crimping press relative to an anvil of a second tool of the crimping press, wherein the crimper and the anvil make a crimp connection jointly by moving the crimper relative to the anvil in a first direction, includes: determining a lateral offset of a center line of the crimper to a center line of the anvil in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, wherein the center line of the crimper runs through a center of the crimper and in the first direction and wherein the center line of the anvil runs through a center of the anvil and in the first direction; and moving the crimper relative to the anvil in the second direction for lowering the lateral offset.
ULTRASONIC WELD INTERCONNECTION COAXIAL CONNECTOR AND INTERCONNECTION WITH COAXIAL CABLE
A coaxial connector for interconnection with a coaxial cable with a solid outer conductor by ultrasonic welding is provided with a monolithic connector body with a bore. An annular flare seat is angled radially outward from the bore toward a connector end of the connector, the annular flare seat open to the connector end of the connector. An inner conductor cap is provided for interconnection with an inner conductor of the coaxial cable by ultrasonic welding. The ultrasonic welding of each of the inner and outer conductor interconnections may be performed via inner conductor and outer conductor sonotrodes which are coaxial with one another, without requiring the cable and or connector to be removed from their fixture.
Manufacturing method of crimping terminal
A manufacturing method of a crimping terminal includes a terminal supply step of supplying the crimping terminal to a crimping position with a wire by a terminal supply device, the crimping terminal including a terminal connection portion, a wire connection portion to be crimped onto the wire, and a joint portion linking side walls of the terminal connection portion and the wire connection portion, a support step of supporting a bottom portion of the crimping terminal supplied to the crimping position by a first mold, a crimp step of deforming the wire connection portion while relatively moving toward the first mold, and crimping the wire connection portion onto the wire by a second mold, and a regulation step of regulating a width of the joint portion so as not to be wider than a width of the terminal connection portion, by sandwiching the joint portion from both sides in a width direction when the second mold crimps the wire connection portion by a regulation portion.
COMPRESSION TOOL WITH BIASING MEMBER
An assembly comprises a compression member configured to receive a force input from a compression tool and a frame including a cradle at one end, an end fitting at the other, and at least one structural member linking the cradle to the end fitting. The cradle is configured to engage one end of the connector and receives the prepared end of the coaxial cable. The end fitting is configured to detachably connect the frame to the compression tool and includes an aperture for receiving the force input from the compression tool. The structural member defines at least one surface configured to guide the compression member along the axis in response to the force input. The compression member imposes an axial force on the other end of the connector and is guided along the axis by the guide surface of the frame.
