ARTICLE OF APPAREL WITH DYNAMIC PADDING SYSTEM
An article of apparel includes a padding system that dynamically changes configuration in response to an impending impact. The padding system may change from a state that has a high flexibility and offers low protection from impact to a state that has a low flexibility and offers increase protection from impact. The system may use a filament to constrict a plurality of padding elements together in order to increase the overall stiffness of the pad. The filament may be tightened and loosened by a spool. The spool may receive a signal regarding the impending impact from a sensor that is a part of the article of apparel, or a sensor that is separate from it.
Riot gear
A body protection system comprising multiple protective assemblies that permits adjustability of the multiple assemblies in respect to one another thereby permitting a complete body protection system that is usable across different size personnel. The multiple protective assemblies may be separately adjusted permitting a one-size-fits-most capability for the different sized personnel. The body protection system permits reuse among different sized people thereby reducing overall costs associated with protecting members of law enforcement, military or other organizations. The body protection system may include a unique adjustable neck protectors that provides enhanced protection for the neck area. The various multiple protective assemblies may suspend directly or indirectly from the shoulder pad assemblies providing a common comprehensive suspension system for a wearer.
Catcher's Leg Guard
A catcher's leg guard allowing for an improved fit feeling is provided. The catcher's leg guard is a catcher's leg guard wearable by a user. The catcher's leg guard includes a thigh protection portion and a shin protection portion. When the user wears the catcher's leg guard, the thigh protection portion is disposed at a position to cover at least a portion of a thigh part of the user. When the user wears the catcher's leg guard, the shin protection portion is disposed at a position to cover a shin part of the user. The thigh protection portion includes a protection member. The protection member is divided into a plurality of protection members.
Leg handle comprising thin stretch fabric and rounded cylindrical section
A leg handle with preferably hollow cylindrical sections is used to aid in lifting a jumping player, especially for lineouts in World Rugby. The handles are preferably made of one or more foam sausages attached to a thin stretch fabric sleeve which is placed the leg of the jumper and when jumping allow for secure grasp by lifters. To use, leg handles are applied to one or more legs of a jumper and held in place with tape. When the jumper jumps, one or more lifters place their hands against the leg handle. The lifters lift the jumper higher, support the jumper in the jump while the jumper attempts to intercept a ball, and safely lower the jumper. Leg handles comprising cylindrical sections are embodied with a single sausage; a lower front sausage and a higher back sausage; or as a pair of such sausages integrated into respective legs of a pair of compression shorts. To comply with the World Rugby law regarding clothing thickness, a wall thickness of four millimeter is preferred resulting in a combined thickness of five millimeters.
REMOLDABLE IMPACT-ATTENUATION ARTICLE
Aspects herein provide for a remoldable article configured to attenuate or reduce the results of an impact. The article comprises a plate that is remoldable in a temperature range of about 41 degrees Celsius to about 43.3 degrees Celsius.
MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING DEVICE
Disclosed is a martial arts training device that is worn on a trainer's waist, and a pair of movable leg-strike units provided on the outer surface of both legs of the trainer are controlled at similar directions, speeds and strengths to real kicking, such that defensive and offensive training simulating a real fight may be performed as the trainee defends from and strikes the movable leg-strike units. The martial arts training device according to the present invention includes a waist-mounted unit worn on a trainer's waist, and a pair of movable leg-strike units, each movably connected to opposite sides of the waist-mounted unit and having a handle on the outer surface thereof to allow a trainer to perform a movable operation thereof.
PROTECTIVE SPORTING GEAR
A protective sporting gear is described with a plurality of polygon-shaped protective components interposed between a first layer of material and a second layer of material. The plurality of polygon-shaped protective components are attached to a top surface of the first layer of material. Each of the plurality of protective components includes one or more polygon-shaped layers of rigid material situated on one or more polygon-shaped layers of non-rigid material. A bottom surface of a first polygon-shaped layer of non-rigid material of the one or more polygon-shaped layers of non-rigid material is attached to the top surface of the first layer of material.
Footwear plate
A plate for an article of footwear includes a substrate, a first strand portion attached to the substrate via first stitching, and a second strand portion disposed on the first layer. The first strand portion includes first segments that each extend between two different locations along the substrate to form a first layer on the substrate. The second strand portion includes second segments that each extend between two different locations along the substrate to form a second layer on the first layer.
DEPLOYABLE SEGMENTED SPORT EQUIPMENT
The present invention is a deployable segmented sport equipment for reducing the impact force on sport equipment worn by a user by using deployable panels. The invention has a body defining a recess, and a panel movable within the recess. The panel includes a panel magnetic element capable of being acted upon by a magnetic force. An electromagnet is provided producing an attractive or repulsive magnetic force on the panel magnetic element. A proximity sensing device capable of sensing an object at a distance from the deployable segmented sport equipment is provided with the body. An electronic controller unit receives signals from the proximity sensing device and controls operation of the controllable magnetic element so as to deploy or retract the panel from or into the recess. The panel being deployed prior to impact with the object, with the repulsive force being controlled to absorb the impact force after impact.
Impact-resistant padding
An article of apparel for a human being, designed or arranged to be worn around an appendage such as an arm or leg, and designed or intended to resist impact. The article contains a material in the form of a spongy, elastic polymer engineered to absorb energy, shock, vibration and impact. The article of apparel can be used to protect hard, bony areas of the human body such as elbows, knees and ankles. The article will be of use to persons engaged in sports involving bats, sticks, mallets, pucks and hard balls, as well as to cyclists, and anyone whose occupation requires the knees or elbows to come into contact with hard surfaces.
