Game system and game information storage medium used for same

A game system includes a housing to be held by a player. The housing incorporates an XY-axis acceleration sensor to detect an acceleration in a X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction and a Z-axis contact switch to detect an acceleration in a Z-axis direction. The sensor and switch detect at least one of an amount (e.g., tilt amount, movement amount, impact amount or the like) and a direction (e.g., tilt direction, movement direction, impact direction or the like) of a change applied to the housing. A simulation program provides simulation such that a state of a game space is changed related to at least one of the amount and direction of the change applied to the housing.

Interactive entertainment electronic system

The present invention relates to a remote play device for an interactive entertainment system and may include a class D amplifier and at least one motion detection device. The remote play device may also include a processor to adapt sound effects played through the class D amplifier based upon the at least one motion detection device. A battery may also be included powering at least the class D amplifier.

Apparatus for adapting virtual gaming with real world information

A server device that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a memory and a processor. The processor can identify first and second players present at first and second physical locations, to identify first and second boundary and topographical information of the first and second physical locations, to map the first and second boundary and topographical information of the first and second physical locations to a virtual gaming space, to capture first and second position and orientation information for the first and second players, to map the first and second position and orientation information to the virtual gaming space, to generate first and second virtual players corresponding to the first and second players, and to transmit to first goggles information representative of the second virtual player for display superimposed onto a transparent viewing apparatus for viewing of the virtual gaming space. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

Social networking utilizing a dispersed storage network

A method includes receiving, from a first user device, social media data for storage in the social media DSN. The method further includes dispersed storage error encoding the social media data in accordance with dispersed storage error encoding parameters to produce a plurality of sets of encoded data slices. The method further includes generating metadata regarding the social media data. The method further includes storing the sets of encoded data slices and the metadata as a full record. The method further includes generating a partial record of the social media data, wherein the partial record includes one or more of: the metadata, a summary of the social media data, and a link to the full record. The method further includes determining a group to which the first user device is affiliated. The method further includes providing the partial record to one or more other user devices affiliated with the group.

Security in a geogame is maintained by implementing various security techniques. The various techniques provide specific advantages for different threat modes and attack styles against a geogame implemented via a mobile ad hoc network utilizing a geocast protocol. Jamming is detected by each player device listening for expected retransmissions of its own originated geocasts. If it fails to hear a retransmission, it concludes jamming. Network interdiction is detected by monitoring for received transmissions and/or periodically sending dummy transmissions to support other devices' detections. Location determination attacks are detected by recognizing impossible movements. Geogame interruption attacks are detected by detecting unauthorized requests to restart a geogame. Other security measures include utilizing cryptographic keys and/or pass phrases when geocasting. Various penalties within the context of a geogame are levied against a player if a security breach is detected.
