HYBRID POWERED MOWER WITH GANGED REEL CUTTING UNITS, AUTOMATIC CLIP CONTROL, GENERATOR POWER OUTPUT CONTROL, REGENERATIVE BRAKING ABSORPTION, AND AUTOMATIC MAXIMUM GROUND SPEED REDUCTIONS DURING TURNS
A gang reel mower has a hybrid engine, generator and battery pack electric power system driving a pair of electric wheel motors for propelling the mower and for driving individual reel motors for powering a plurality of reel cutting units. A master controller is programmable with a selected clip and maintains the selected clip whether the mower travels straight ahead or is turning. The output power of the generator is damped and is gradually increased during high electrical loads to prevent step responses in the engine and thereby limit engine droop. During regenerative braking of the mower, the generator can be driven as a motor to use the engine as a load. This limits the voltage produced by the traction motors during regenerative braking from damaging the electrical system or overcharging the battery pack. Moreover, maximum transport and mowing ground speeds are automatically reduced during some turns of the mower.
STALK PULLER
A stalk puller to be used with or without a mower/shredder utilizes a pair of independently mounted discs converging along their lower edge to grasp and pull stalks from the ground as the stalk puller is moved down the row by a prime mover. At least one of the discs is urged against the other by a spring such that the associated disc may allow rocks and debris to pass between the discs without damage. The spring mounting reduces adjustments due to normal wear as well as damage from debris.
Direct shaft connected dual center knife drive for an agricultural harvester
A header for an agricultural harvester including an epicyclical drive gear train operatively connected to a first cutter bar, an epicyclical driven gear train operatively connected to a second cutter bar, and a shaft extending between and operatively connected to the epicyclical drive gear train and the epicyclical driven gear train. The epicyclical drive gear train rotates in a first direction and the shaft is configured to rotate the epicyclical driven gear train in a second direction opposite the first direction or in the same direction as the first direction. Each of the epicyclical drive gear train and epicyclical driven gear train includes a bevel gear for operatively engaging bevel gears on the shaft. Operation of the epicyclical drive gear train and epicyclical driven gear train results in substantially linear oscillating motion of the cutter bars.

Saw blade for a saw cutting stalk crops
A saw blade for cutting stalk crops, such as for example maize or millet, has a planar flank and a facet flank and a sawing edge with a succession of saw teeth. The saw teeth are provided with a wear protection zone, the wear resistance of which is greater than that of a material of the base body of the saw blade. The wear protection zone is respectively located on the planar flank of each saw tooth. The saw teeth in the region of the tooth face have a cutting facet, starting from the facet flank. The cutting facet is configured at a distance from the planar flank of the saw tooth to form a blunt tooth cutting edge and, in a preferred embodiment, the cutting facet and the facet flank are configured without a wear protection zone.
Tool and tool holder for a rotary land preparation implement and vehicle thereof
A land preparation implement includes a rotatable drum assembly that includes a tool assembly. The tool assembly includes a tool holder and a tool. The tool includes a plurality of cleats. The tool holder includes a plurality of cleat supports. The cleats and the cleat supports cooperate to facilitate releasable coupling of the tool to the tool holder.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANAGEMENT OF HARVEST RESIDUE
A stalk roll assembly for header of a combine harvester. The assembly includes first and second stalk rolls spaced laterally with respect to one another and rotating in opposite directions. Each stalk roll includes a frusto-conical nose and a cylindrical body. The cylindrical body includes a plurality of radially extending flutes. The nose includes a pair of helical flights. The plurality of flutes includes at least one cutting flute having a straight edge and a plurality of puncturing flutes with teeth. The stalk rolls are laterally offset a distance that permits the tips of the flutes to laterally overlap and the teeth of the puncturing flutes are longitudinally offset so the tips of the teeth are received between with the valleys of the teeth of the other stalk roll.

WALK REEL MOWER WITH A TELESCOPIC FLOATING HANDLE ASSEMBLY HAVING INTERCHANGEABLE HANDLES, IN SITU BACKLAPPING, A TRACTION BAIL, AND INTERCHANGEABLE REEL CUTTING UNITS
A walk reel mower has a traction frame that carries a telescopic handle assembly to accommodate users of different heights. A pivotal bail on the handle assembly allows the user to slip a traction clutch to temporarily slow the mower down when turning the mower around. The handle assembly has a resilient isolator that acts in shear to permit the traction frame of the mower to maintain the quality and the height of cut when operated by users having a heavy downpressure touch on the handle assembly. A fixed head reel cutting unit or a flex head reel cutting unit can be interchangeably carried on the traction frame using a common mount therefor. Backlapping can be accomplished in situ by using an idler wheel between a driven transport wheel and the reel of the cutting unit to reverse the direction of the reel.
TRIPLEX GREENSMOWER OPEN FOOT PLATFORM COVER
A triplex greensmower open foot platform provides an opening in front of an operator seat providing visibility from the operator seat to a center reel cutting unit. The opening has sufficient dimensions for removal or installation of the center reel cutting unit or a grass catcher therethrough. A pair of platform sections provides a perimeter at least partially around the opening. Each of the platform sections including a footrest and a rearwardly extending coupling that is manually removable from the triplex greensmower. A flexible cover may be removably attached to the platform and extend over the opening and at least part of the center reel cutting unit.
