Dispenser with parallel dispensing paths
A beverage preparation machine (1) has: a water circuit (12,13) for guiding water (2,2′,2″) from a source (11); and a mixing unit (20) fluidically connected to the water circuit (12,13) and to a beverage outlet (23) for dispensing to a consumer cup or mug (5) a beverage (3) formed in the mixing unit (20). The mixing unit (20) has a first module (21) and a second module (22) that are relatively movable from: a distant configuration for inserting an ingredient between the first and second modules (21,22); to a proximate position for combining such ingredient with water (2′) supplied by the water circuit (12,13) so as to form the beverage (3). The machine has: a further unit (30) fluidically connected to the water circuit (12,13) and to an outlet (33) for dispensing to a consumer cup or mug water (2″) supplied by the water circuit (12,13); and a water directing device (14) fluidically connected to the water circuit (12,13), to the mixing unit (20) and to the further unit (30). The directing device (14) has one or more valves (141,142;143,144) that is/are actuated by the relatively moving first and/or second modules (21,22) and that can be opened and closed for controlling a flow of water (2,2′,2″) from the water circuit (12,13) selectively to the mixing unit (20) or to the further unit (30).

The present invention discloses a refrigerator, comprising a cabinet, a door and a water dispenser, wherein the water dispenser comprises a water tank, a drain path, a beverage making chamber and a dispenser, the beverage making chamber is communicated with the dispenser, the water dispenser further comprises an integration module provided between the water tank and the beverage making chamber, and the integration module comprises any one, two or all of the flow meter, the water pump and the heater. The refrigerator with the integration module may heat, pressurize the beverage and/or adjust the concentration of the beverage when the beverage is prepared, so that the user may make beverages of various flavors as required, and the diversification of drinking functions of the refrigerator is realized.
Method and system for preparing hot drink using combined roasting and brewing
A device and method for preparing hot beverage while combining roasting the brewing in the same device. When non-roasted or semi roasted grinds or scrunched leaves are used, completion of the roasting is performed by the device to a desired level of roasting. Thereafter brewing is performed in a desired temperature and a controlled pressure. The grinds or scrunched leaves can be provided packed in a capsule.
Beverage system having a conveying carriage for a capsule
A beverage system for making a beverage based on ingredients in a capsule has a conveying carriage with a capsule carrier, a threaded spindle extending inside a housing of the beverage system and having a drive nut connected to the capsule carrier. A stop element is arranged on the threaded spindle at an ejection position for blocking movement of the drive nut along the threaded spindle. A motor rotates the threaded spindle in a first direction of rotation, in order to move the capsule carrier to a processing position, where a beverage is made based on the ingredients in a capsule; in order to move the capsule carrier further along the threaded spindle to an ejection position; and in order to rotate the capsule carrier at the ejection position about the threaded spindle to eject the capsule from the capsule carrier.
Brewing module and drinks preparation machine
A brewing module for preparing a brewed drink from a portion capsule includes a first brewing module part and a second brewing module part which is movable relative to this between a first brewing module part position and a second brewing module part position, wherein a movement of the second brewing module part relative to the first brewing module part can be driven by a manual or motorised drive via a transmission mechanism. A capsule recognition device with an optical sensor for detecting optical characteristics of the capsule is further present. The brewing module has a mechanically driveable blowing device that is arranged to produce an airflow at the side of the window element towards the portion capsule. The blowing device is assembled such that it is driven by a relative movement of elements of the brewing module which is produced by the drive or the transmission mechanism.

The invention relates to a portion capsule (1) for preparing a beverage in a beverage preparation machine, wherein: the portion capsule (1) comprises a base element (2), which has a cavity (3) for receiving a beverage raw material, and a capsule cover (4) sealing the cavity (3); the base element (2) comprises a capsule base (5), a peripheral flange (6), and a capsule wall (7) extending between the capsule base (5) and the peripheral flange (6); the capsule cover (4) is attached to the flange (6) along a sealing plane (8); the flange (6) has a peripheral bulge (9) at its outer free end; a sealing element in the form of a sealing bead (10) pointing away from the capsule cover (4) is provided on the flange (6); the sealing plane (8) extends along the flange (6) on the side of the capsule cover (4), between the bulge (9) and the sealing bead (10); and the sealing bead (10) comprises an inner flank (11) on the capsule wall (7) side and an outer flank (12) on the bulge (9) side; characterised in that both the outer flank (12) and the inner flank (11) are oriented at an angle (α, β) of greater than 80 to less than 90 degrees to the sealing plane (8).
Brew head assembly
A brew head assembly insertable within a brewing apparatus dimensioned to fit within a compartment in a galley of an aircraft may include an adjustable assembly and a brew cup. The adjustable assembly may include a brew head and a support member. The support member may define a first brew head cavity. The brew head may be at least partially inserted into the first brew head cavity. The adjustable assembly may be actuatable between an open position and at least one closed position. The brew cup may define a second brew head cavity. The brew head may be at least partially inserted into the second brew head cavity. A height between the brew head and the brew cup when the adjustable assembly is in the at least one closed position may be responsive to one or more parameters of a brew pod of a plurality of brew pods.

System for preparing a quantity of beverage suitable for consumption, the system comprising an exchangeable capsule (4A, 4B) having a cup-shaped body (6A, 6B) and a lid (12A, 12B) and comprising an apparatus. The apparatus comprises a first brew chamber part (18) having a cavity for holding the exchangeable capsule (4A, 4B) and a second brew chamber part (20) for closing the first brew chamber part (18) to form a brew chamber (16). The second brew chamber part (20) has a sealing member (36, 37) for providing a liquid sealing engagement between the second brew chamber part (20) and the lid (12A, 12B) of the exchangeable capsule (4A, 4B). The sealing member (36, 37) comprises an air purge groove (40) forming an air purge opening between the sealing member (36, 37) and the lid (12A, 12B) of the capsule for allowing air in the brew chamber (16) to escape to an exterior of the apparatus while pressurised liquid is supplied into the brewing chamber (16) for preparing the beverage.

The first capsule and the alternative second capsule each include a sealing member at the outwardly extending flange for providing a fluid sealing contact with the first enclosing member if the capsule is used in the first beverage preparation device. There is no sealing interface between the first capsule and the second enclosing member for providing a fluid sealing during use, and there is a sealing interface between the alternative second capsule and the second enclosing member for providing a fluid sealing contact during use.
