COFFEE MACHINE FOR PREPARING COFFEE WITH HIGHLY FLEXIBLE USE
A coffee machine comprises a water supply pump, a first water heating boiler, a brewing unit comprising a hot water dispensing head, a first hydraulic connection line for connecting said first boiler to said dispensing head, a second by-pass line of the first boiler, hydraulically connecting said pump to said dispensing head, distribution valve means switchable between a first connection configuration of said supply pump to said first line and a second connection configuration of said supply pump to said second line, the first line being provided with a first non-return valve calibrated at a first opening pressure and the second line being provided with a second non-return valve calibrated at a second opening pressure lower than the first opening pressure.
Brewer with compacting force activation
The present disclosure includes an extraction assembly for use in an automatic espresso brewer. The extraction assembly includes components and methods for controllably extracting espresso beverage from a quantity of brewing substance. The components, assemblies, and methods facilitate improved control and operation of the extraction assembly and improve the reliability of the extraction assembly. The brewing substance is compacted between a pair of opposing pistons. Compacting force is monitored through at least one sensor carried on the extraction assembly to provide a signal to a controller. A predetermined compacting force may be programmed into the system for all brewing cycles or dependent upon the brewing substance used. The pair of pistons operates relative to a brew chamber for use in the espresso extraction process. The pistons provide compacting force and boundaries within the chamber and facilitate removal of a spent brewing substance puck at the end of the brewing cycle. Compacting force is monitored at the start of the brewing process and a predetermined force is required before the brewing process can be started. During the brewing process compacting force can be maintained and controllably adjusted. A variety of sensor methods and locations can be used to detect and monitoring compacting force.
Coffee Machine
A coffee machine with a brewer. The brewer includes a brewing chamber for receiving ground coffee and a piston movable in the brewing chamber for tamping the ground coffee. An input interface enables an operator to select a desired amount of ground coffee to be supplied to the brewing chamber and to select an amount of brewing water to be used during extraction of the coffee. The input interface receives a setpoint for a desired extraction time. The coffee machine also may include a flowmeter for measuring an actual flow of the brewing water during extraction, the flowmeter connected to a controller and the controller arranged to drive the piston to a position which causes the actual flow of the brewing water to be set at a value which corresponds to eventually using the full amount of brewing water in about or exactly the desired extraction time.
Injection unit having a resilient suspension device for the group head of a so-called espresso coffee machine
The invention relates to an injection unit (1) for an espresso coffee machine including a stationary mechanical upper block (2) having a central projection (4) which forms a hot-water dispenser (7) and to which a removable portion, referred to as the group head (8), is attached, the inner surface of the group head having a cavity (22) in which the portafilter (9) is mounted, said portafilter comprising an operating handle (10) and a recess for holding a basket (11) containing the coffee grounds for preparing espresso coffee, characterized in that the group head (8) is attached to the mechanical block (2) of the injection unit (1) via a linking device having a resilient effect, and in that the seal (23) surrounding the dispenser (7) engages with the inner periphery of the basket (11). The invention is useful for manufacturers of espresso coffee machines.
COFFEE MACHINE AND RELEVANT COFFEE EXTRACTION METHOD
A coffee machine includes a weighing system to measure the weight of the liquid coffee extracted in a cup and a coffee grinding machine having a weight system to measure the weight of the ground coffee dispensed in a filter-holder. The coffee machine has a control unit provided with a memory, wherein infusion ratios for different types of coffees are saved and the coffee grinding machine includes a control unit operatively connected to the control unit of the coffee machine to send information about the weight of the ground coffee contained in the filter-holder. The control unit of the coffee machine uses the information received from the coffee grinding machine to extract a coffee that satisfies an infusion ratio selected by the operator.
Coffee machine for measured cup filling
A professional coffee machine for bars, adapted to provide for the measured filling of cups according to the specific preference of the customer for a normal, a short or a long coffee.
EXTRACTION CELL
An upward flow extraction method, apparatus, and extract are disclosed. The upward flow extraction method can comprise loading extraction material into an extraction cell having a bottom portion and a top portion; introducing a first aliquot of extraction medium through the bottom portion of the extraction cell; expelling gas from the extraction cell through the top portion of the extraction cell; closing the top portion of the extraction cell and increasing the pressure in the extraction cell as extraction medium flows into the bottom portion of the extraction cell; stopping the flow of extraction medium into the extraction cell; steeping the extraction material in the extraction medium under pressure to produce an extract; and introducing a second aliquot of extraction medium through the bottom portion of the extraction cell to push extract through top portion of the extraction cell.
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for brewing a beverage
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for brewing a desired portion of a beverage, such as a single-cup portion of coffee, are provided. The system can include one or more hopper assemblies configured to provide a controlled dose of beverage material to a brew chamber. The system can also include a water input system configured to wet the ground beverage material as the grinds enter the brew chamber and substantially prevent steam from reaching grinder components of the system. Further, the system can include an automatic cleaning mechanism such that a user does not need to manually clean components of a brewing machine between brew cycles.
