Electrical device power management
An electrical device includes a memory storing a value indicative the remaining available rated capacity of one or more batteries. The stored value is changed in use to reflect reducing capacity. The initial stored value is chosen so that there is a very high (e.g. >99.9%) confidence that the one or more batteries will provide at least the capacity indicated by the initial stored value. This reduces the chance of failure during emergency procedures. The one or more batteries may be integral to the electrical device. An override facility is provided.
STEERABLE ENDOSCOPES AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An endoscope can include a handle, an actuator coupled to the handle, and an elongated shaft coupled to the handle. The shaft can include a deflectable distal portion, an imaging assembly at a distal end of the shaft, a tube that defines a lumen, and a guide positioned within the lumen of the tube. The guide can include a first groove that cooperates with the tube to define a first lumen and a second groove that cooperates with the tube to define a second lumen through which communication lines associated with the imaging assembly pass. The endoscope can further include a steering wire coupled to the deflectable distal portion of the shaft, extending through the first lumen and coupled to the actuator, and coupled with the actuator such that actuation of the actuator causes the steering wire to deflect the distal portion of the shaft.
Using an intraoral mirror with an integrated camera to record dental status, and applications thereof
Disclosed embodiments integrate a camera into an intraoral mirror. Integrating a camera into an intraoral mirror provides an efficient way to record and display what is visible to the healthcare provider in the mirror.
WIRELESS SCANNER AND CHARGING METHOD THEREOF
A wireless scanner according to the present invention comprises: a scanner body having a plurality of components arranged on the inside; and a scanner tip coupled to one end of the scanner body and having a passage therein through which light passes. The scanner body includes: an optical heating unit including at least one camera and a light projector; a power heating unit including a battery for supplying power to at least one among the camera and the light projector; and at least one charging module for charging the battery by generating a current in a reception coil formed inside the scanner body, the current in the reception coil being generated by a magnetic field generated from a transmission coil included in a cradle for holding the scanner body.
MEDICAL DEVICE ILLUMINATOR AND CHARGING SYSTEM
A portable medical illuminator is configured for attachment to a medical device wherein the illuminator includes an illuminator housing and a light source disposed in relation to the housing. A portable rechargeable power supply is connected to the light source, and an inductive charging coil is disposed within the illuminator housing to enable contactless charging of the contained portable power supply.
MEDICAL BORESCOPES AND RELATED TIP ASSEMBLIES
Laparoscopes and other medical borescopes. In some embodiments, a laparoscope may comprise an electrically conductive portion and a shield portion configured to provide electromagnetic interference shielding for the electrically conductive portion. A tip assembly may be positioned at a distal end of the laparoscope, which tip assembly may comprise an image sensor configured to take images through a distal end of the laparoscope.
MEDICAL BORESCOPES AND RELATED TIP ASSEMBLIES
Medical borescopes and related methods. In some embodiments, a medical borescope may comprise a handle and a tube extending from the handle. The tube may be partially, or wholly, defined by an at least substantially non-conductive material, such as a suitable plastic, ceramic, or other non-metallic material. The borescope may further comprise a tip assembly positioned at a distal end of the tube, which may comprise an image sensor configured to take images through the distal end of the tube.
Method and apparatus for hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy
Methods and devices are described for performing a combined hysteroscopy and endometrial sampling. Techniques for improving visual images include forward facing fluid ports for clearing tissue debris and LED positioning and design. Manufacturability is improved through separately formed tip and shaft pieces. User interface features are described including user-friendly handle-mounted buttons as well the use of an interactive integrated touch screen display. The handle and display can be mated to a docking station for storage and recharging batteries.
EAR INSTRUMENT ASSEMBLY
An ear instrument assembly includes a base unit and a tool. The base unit includes a first housing defining an opening. The tool is movable between a storage position in which the tool is partially disposed into the opening such that the tool is secured to the first housing and a use position in which the tool is removed from the opening such that the tool is spaced from the first housing. The tool includes a tip contained inside the first housing when the tool is in the storage position. The tool includes a camera at least partially disposed in the tip of the tool, and the tool includes a curette attachable to and detachable from the tip of the tool.
AUXILIARY COMPONENT FOR A MEDICAL VISUALISATION DEVICE
A medical visualisation device includes a main device part and the auxiliary component couplable to the main device part. The main device part includes an image sensor adapted to generate image data indicative of a view from the main device part, a light emitter adapted to provide illumination of the view, and a main coupling part having one or more main terminals electrically connected to the light emitter and the image sensor. The auxiliary component includes a device wireless communication module adapted to communicate with a monitor wireless communication module of a monitor device, the device wireless communication module being adapted to transmit encoded image data using a downstream data channel to the monitor wireless communication module.
