Blood collecting device
A blood collecting device collects blood in a short time after puncture without scattering the blood into the open air other than a container for collecting the blood. One of representative blood collecting devices has a container unit that includes a screw portion, a holder that holds the container unit serving as a system whose one end is closed, a puncture unit that can be attached to the container or the holder, a through-hole of the puncture unit, and a puncture unit protection member that protects the puncture unit and the container unit.
Injection instrument
An injection instrument including a hollow needle body including a substrate having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, the hollow needle body having at least one projection which is formed on the first surface and has a through hole penetrating from a distal end of the at least one projection to the second surface of the substrate, a deforming member positioned outside a region where the at least one projection is formed, the deforming member being deformable to bulge in a bulging direction along a projecting direction of the at least one projection beyond a plane flush with the first surface, and a pressure channel through which a fluid is supplied such that a fluid pressure is applied to the deforming member. The deforming member is deformable in the bulging direction in response to the fluid pressure.
System and Methods for At-Home Diagnostics Utilizing Microneedles
A method of analyzing a blood sample from an animal is disclosed. The method includes: (a) extracting a blood sample from a blood collection device, wherein the blood collection device comprises: (i) a microneedle array and (ii) a blood storage layer, and wherein the microneedle array transports the blood sample from the animal to the blood storage layer, and wherein the microneedle array comprises one or more microneedles; (b) conducting at least one test on the extracted blood sample; and (c) reporting results from the at least one test to a customer.
Method of manufacturing a skin pricking lancet
A method of manufacturing a skin pricking lancet includes: thermoforming a plastic component; locating the thermoformed component and, optionally, one or more further plastic components around a lancet mechanism; and joining the located component(s) to form a hermetically sealed enclosure surrounding the lancet mechanism, the component(s) being formed and joined to provide a housing that structurally supports the lancet mechanism during use, and a cap breakable from the housing to facilitate firing of the lancet mechanism.
Device for maintaining a user's vein in position and device for puncturing or injecting into a user's vein
A device to maintain a user's vein in position includes at least two branches separated by a gap of width greater than the size of the vein. A positioner to position the branches around the vein. The device can additionally includes a heater to heat at least one branch and a controller to control the heater. The device can further include a cooler to cool at least one branch and the controller is configured to activate the cooler.
REPLACEMENT-TYPE BLOOD-COLLECTING DEVICE
Disclosed is a replaceable blood lancet device in which a needle unit including a needle carrier and a front slider is used as inserted in a tubular barrel, and the used needle unit or needle carrier is replaced after use. The replaceable blood lancet device minimizes waste of resources by reducing the parts to be discarded in reuse. In addition, the front slider inserted in the barrel is easily loaded and unloaded through the withdrawal grip portion provided in the front slider. Further, an action spring for elastically pushing the needle carrier in a frontward direction, and a rear end cap for supporting the actuation spring to be compressed to generate an elastic force are provided, so that the blood lancet device can perform blood collection based on the elastic force of the spring.
DISPOSABLE BLOOD COLLECTING DEVICE
A disposable blood lancet device includes a barrel including a tubular barrel body; a tubular front slider inserted in the barrel; a carrier; a needle carrier; an actuation spring elastically pushing the needle carrier in the frontward direction; and a trigger portion coming into contact with the elastic transformation portion upon the rearward movement of the needle carrier and elastically transforming the elastic transformation portion inwards in the radial direction so that the interlocking holding projection can be separated inwards from the rear end of the front slider to propel the needle carrier frontwards.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR BODY FLUID SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
Described here are meters and methods for sampling, transporting, and/or analyzing a fluid sample. The meters may include a meter housing and a cartridge. In some instances, the meter may include a tower which may engage one or more portions of a cartridge. The meter housing may include an imaging system, which may or may not be included in the tower. The cartridge may include one or more sampling arrangements, which may be configured to collect a fluid sample from a sampling site. A sampling arrangement may include a skin-penetration member, a hub, and a quantification member.
Lancing device
A lancing device includes a lancet body (14) of elongate form and having a sharp tip (16) at the forward end thereof; a drive spring (26) for imparting generally longitudinal movement to the lancet body, and a housing (10) receiving the lancet body and having an aperture (22) in the forward end thereof through which the sharp tip (16) of the lancet body projects in use when the device is fired. The device includes elements (28, 30, 32) for controlling movement of the lancet body (14) to cause the tip of the lancet to execute a lateral movement when it projects from the aperture.
