Compliant syringe system, a method of making, and of using the same
In an embodiment, a syringe needle comprises a helical portion located in between a needle tip portion and a distal portion. In another embodiment, a compliant article comprises a casing tube comprising a tube end opening located at a needle tube end of the casing tube, a distal tube opening located at a distal tube end of the casing tube, and an inner tube space; and a syringe needle that traverses the tube end opening; wherein the compliant article comprises a compliant portion that allows for a reduced insertion pressure of the syringe needle as compared to an insertion pressure of a corresponding syringe needle in an article without the compliant portion.
Depth-adjust mechanism for lancing device
A lancing device with a depth-adjustment mechanism including an adjustably-positioned stop surface, a movable control member operably coupled thereto, and a resiliently deflectable leg that engages the stop surface and a lancet carrier to provide a soft stop for the lancet carrier. The lancet carrier deflects the leg in a forward phase of the lancing stroke, and then the leg contacts the stop surface to stop the forward motion of the lancet carrier at an extended lancing position. The stop surface can be adjustably positioned so that different portions thereof are engaged to stop the lancet carrier at deeper or shallower positions. In example embodiments, the depth-adjustment mechanism includes a rotary dial and an extension arm of the leg, with the dial including a rotary wheel and a rotary shaft extending axially therefrom, the wheel forming the movable adjustment member, and the shaft forming the adjustably positioned stop surface.
DISPOSABLE PAINLESS LANCET AND LANCING DEVICE
Provided is a lancing device including a casing, a launch part, and a bumper part wherein the bumper part comprises a needle body holder, a cylindrical bumper and bump spring; and a disposable painless lancet for use with the device. The disposable painless lancet and lancing device according to the present invention are figured such that a bump spring strikes the skin in advance before the needle penetrates the skin, disturbing the skin nerve, and such that a needle of the lancet can be allowed to be inserted only a certain depth of skin, thus the subject does not feel any pain at all.
Tissue penetration device
A tissue penetration device includes a magnetic source that produces a controllable magnetic field in a magnetically active region adjacent the magnetic source. A magnetic member is disposed at least partially in the magnetically active region. A permanent magnet is disposed at a proximal end of the magnetically active region for zeroing the position of the magnetic member while the tissue penetration device is inactive.
Method and apparatus for penetrating tissue
A tissue penetrating system has a housing member. A plurality of penetrating members are positioned in the housing member. A tissue stabilizing member is coupled to the housing. A penetrating member sensor is coupled to the plurality of penetrating members. The penetrating member sensor is configured to provide information relative to a depth of penetration of a penetrating member through a skin surface.
Methods and apparatus for lancet actuation
A lancet driver is provided wherein the driver exerts a driving force on a lancet during a lancing cycle and is used on a tissue site. The driver comprises of a drive force generator for advancing the lancet along a path into the tissue site, and a manual switch for a user interface input.

Sampling module device and method
A medicament injection device includes a device body portion that includes a penetrating member channel. A penetrating member is provided with a sharpened distal tip and shaft portion that is slidably disposed within the penetrating channel to provide for a penetrating to travel in a linear axial movement. A pierceable membrane isolates a penetrating member in an associated penetrating member chamber. A medicament reservoir is in fluid communication with the penetrating member. The medicament reservoir is configured to house a medicament and is coupled to the penetrating member to allow for delivery of medicament to a tissue site.
Lancet pricking device
A lancet pricking device comprising a lancet, a launching spring and a lancet holder for housing therein the lancet and the launching spring. The lancet pricking device of the present invention is characterized in that the lancet comprises a lancet body, a lancet cap and a pricking needle, and the pricking needle is disposed in both the lancet body and the lancet cap; wherein the launching spring is attached to the lancet body, and the lancet body is secured by abutting against the lancet holder such that the launching spring is kept compressed before a pricking operation; and wherein, when the lancet cap is removed, the lancet body becomes capable of warping upon being pressed from an outside to cause the secured lancet body to be released.
Method and apparatus for improving fluidic flow and sample capture
A body fluid sampling device for use on a patient includes at least one penetrating member positioned in the cartridge and a sample port for receiving a body fluid. A channel is coupled to the sample port and the sample chamber. At least a portion of the channel is a capillary channel positioned adjacent to the sample chamber. A mesh membrane is and provides that the body fluid contacts the channel regardless of an orientation of body fluid sampling device.
