Puncture needle, puncture device, and blood sampling device
Provided is a puncture needle that receives lower puncture resistance than conventional techniques. A puncture needle in accordance with an aspect of the present invention includes a needle body (10) that includes a main portion (12) and a distal portion (11) tapering from the main portion (12) and that is rotatable about a central axis (1) of the needle body (10), the needle body (10) including needle parts (15) separated by a boundary along the central axis, each of the needle parts (15) being independently translatable along the central axis (1).
Sensor cartridge and inserter
A sensor cartridge comprising a sterile capsule. The sensor cartridge further comprises a sensor within the sterile capsule. The sensor cartridge further comprises a sensor connector connected to the sensor in an initial position. The sensor cartridge further comprises an insertion needle for inserting the sensor into a subject. The insertion needle is within the sterile capsule. The sensor cartridge further comprises a sensor mounting unit for receiving the sensor connector at a mounted position. The sensor mounting unit comprises an adhesive surface for attaching to an exterior surface of the subject. The sensor cartridge further comprises an insertion mechanism operable for actuating the insertion needle and moving the sensor connector from the initial position to the mounted position.
Systems, devices, and methods for bodily fluid sample collection
Bodily fluid sample collection systems, devices, and method are provided. The device may comprise a first portion comprising at least a sample collection channel configured to draw the fluid sample into the sample collection channel via a first type of motive force. The sample collection device may include a second portion comprising a sample container for receiving the bodily fluid sample collected in the sample collection channel, the sample container operably engagable to be in fluid communication with the collection channel, whereupon when fluid communication is established, the container provides a second motive force different from the first motive force to move a majority of the bodily fluid sample from the channel into the container.
INTRAVASCULAR CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A peripheral intravascular catheter assembly comprising a tubular introducer needle and an adapter connected to the proximal end of the light guide. An introducer needle comprises a connection hub and a needle member. The needle member has a lumen, a distal end and a proximal end. The assembly may be further provided with a cannula tubing surrounding at least a portion of the needle member, with at least one light source and with an electronic module, configured to power the light source. The light guide has a distal end and a proximal end and extends along the lumen of the needle member. The adapter may be connected to the electronic module to the connection hub of the introducer needle so that light emitted by at least one light source is capable of entering the light guide, but blood flowing through the lumen of the needle member is prevented from contacting said light source.
Methods and apparatus for lancet actuation
A lancet driver is provided wherein the driver exerts a driving force on a lancet during a lancing cycle and is used on a tissue site. The driver comprises of a drive force generator for advancing the lancet along a path into the tissue site, and a manual switch for a user interface input.

A peripheral intravascular catheter assembly comprising a tubular introducer needle and an adapter connected to the proximal end of the light guide. An introducer needle comprises a connection hub and a needle member. The needle member has a lumen, a distal end and a proximal end. The assembly can include a cannula tubing surrounding at least a portion of the needle member, with at least one light source and with an electronic module, configured to power the light source. The light guide has a distal end and a proximal end and extends along the lumen of the needle member. The adapter may be connected to the electronic module to the connection hub of the introducer needle so that light emitted by the light source is capable of entering the light guide, but blood flowing through the lumen of the needle member is prevented from contacting the light source.
IMAGE GUIDED AUTONOMOUS NEEDLE INSERTION DEVICE FOR VASCULAR ACCESS
An image guided autonomous needle insertion device including a delivery system, a path planner, an image processor, and a human machine interface. The system also includes an ultrasound probe in communication with a frame grabber, a percutaneous insertion device, and at least a first actuator for moving the percutaneous insertion device within a first degree of freedom and a second actuator for moving the percutaneous insertion device within a second degree of freedom. Each actuator has a corresponding position sensor for detecting its location with respect to a target. The system can further comprise an image processor for removing noise and segmenting the ultrasound images to highlight potential targets.
