DELIVERING AND/OR RECEIVING FLUIDS
The present invention generally relates to receiving bodily fluid through a device opening. In one aspect, the device includes a flow activator arranged to cause fluid to be released from a subject. A deployment actuator may actuate the flow activator in a deployment direction, which may in turn cause fluid release from a subject. The flow activator may also be moved in a retraction direction by a retraction actuator. In one aspect, the device may include a vacuum source that may help facilitate fluid flow into the opening of the device and/or may help facilitate fluid flow from the opening to a storage chamber. In one aspect, a device actuator may enable fluid communication between the opening and the vacuum source and the flow activator may be actuated after the enablement of fluid communication.
BLOOD COLLECTION DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a blood collection device, including: a shell; a blade seat, arranged in the shell; an elastic component for providing an elastic force for pivoting the blade seat; a triggering portion, including an operating end and an abutting end, wherein the triggering portion has a first position and a second position for pivoting, the operating end extends to the outside of the shell, the abutting end is located in the shell, based on the operation of the operating end, the triggering portion is suitable for pivoting from the first position that prevents the blade seat from pivoting to the second position that allows the blade seat to pivot based on the elastic force of the elastic component, wherein: a cooperation column is arranged in the shell and is located at the upper side of the triggering portion spaced from the triggering portion; and an elastic arm is connected to the upper side of the triggering portion, the end part of the elastic arm includes a blocking portion, the end part of the elastic arm is suitable for being located on one side of the cooperation column when the triggering portion is at the first position, and is located on the other side of the cooperation column when the triggering portion pivots from the first position to the second position, and the blocking portion provides resistance for the end part of the elastic arm while moving from one side of the cooperation column to the other side.
Adhesive and Peripheral Systems and Methods for Medical Devices
A system is disclosed. The system includes a reservoir for containing a fluidic medium, the reservoir including a front surface, a resilient cylindrical flexure portion connected to the front surface, the resilient cylindrical flexure portion comprising an accordion-like structure that is able to expand and contract to change an interior volume within the resilient cylindrical flexure portion, a central passageway within the resilient cylindrical flexure, and a collection chamber connected to the central passageway. Also, a system including a reservoir, a plunger head located within the reservoir, a plunger arm connected to the plunger head, a driving shaft connected to the plunger arm, and a motor connected to the driving shaft, the motor controllable to move the drive shaft in a first motion and a second motion so as to move the advance plunger head and retract the plunger head within the reservoir.
Patch-Sized Fluid Delivery Systems and Methods
A patch-sized fluid delivery device may include a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion may include components that come into contact with the fluid, while the reusable portion may include only components that do not come into contact with the fluid. Redundant systems, such as redundant controllers, power sources, motor actuators, and alarms, may be provided. Alternatively or additionally, certain components can be multi-functional, such a microphones and loudspeakers that may be used for both acoustic volume sensing and for other functions and a coil that may be used as both an inductive coupler for a battery recharger and an antenna for a wireless transceiver. Various types of network interfaces may be provided in order to allow for remote control and monitoring of the device.
Device to Determine Volume of Fluid Dispensed
An apparatus for determining the volume of fluid dispensed. The apparatus has an acoustic volume sensor that acoustically excites a reference volume and a measurement chamber with a loudspeaker and measures the acoustic response with microphones acoustically coupled to the reference and the measurement chamber. The loudspeaker and sensing microphones are connected to the measurement chamber by separate ports. A detachable dispensing chamber is coupled to the acoustic volume sensor. The volume of the fluid dispensed is determined by a processor based on the acoustic response of the microphones to acoustic excitement by the loudspeaker.
