SAFE HANDLING LATER.AL FLOW IMMUNOASSAY CASSETTES FOR POINT OF CARE TESTING
A point of care cassette, comprising: a housing; a lancet carrier for carrying a lancet, the lancet carrier being configured to be retractably urged by a spring from a locked position to a deployed position in response to an actuation of a first trigger, the lancet being entirely within the housing when not in the deployed position; and a test carrier for carrying a testing medium, the test carrier configured to be urged by a second spring from a locked position to a deployed position in response to an actuation of a second trigger, the second trigger being actuated during deployment of the lancet carrier to bring the testing medium proximate a blood sample after retraction of the lancet.
SELF-CONTAINED MINIMAL ACTION INVASIVE BLOOD CONSTITUENT SYSTEM
A minimal action, invasive blood constituent device can streamline the process for the self-monitoring of blood-related tests by holding and facilitating the use of some or all of the tools for obtaining and testing a blood sample. The device can include a slider, that when pumped, causes the device to spring-load a lancet and eject a testing strip. The device can include a trigger that, when pressed, activates the lancet by unloading the spring. A strip-lancet apparatus can combine the roles of two disposable products—a testing strip and a lancing needle—into an apparatus that can be configured for piercing the testing site as well as receiving the blood sample. A testing strip apparatus can facilitate the use and/or disposal of testing strips. A lancet apparatus can facilitate the use and/or disposal of lancets.
Puncture instrument, puncture needle cartridge mounted in puncture instrument, and method for using puncture instrument and puncture needle cartridge
It is an object of this disclosure to facilitate a series of puncture-related operations in a puncture instrument. In a main case of a puncture instrument, a main rod is provided. An injector rod is mounted to a main rod and includes a lancet holder on one end side. An actuating rod is mounted to the injector rod and has an engagement component on the other end side. A first biasing member biases the injector rod toward the first end side. A manipulation component is provided so as to be slidable in and out through an opening on the other end side of the main case. A locking member is axially supported rotatably by a portion of the main rod between the manipulation component and the injector rod. The locking member includes a first engaged part, a second engaged part and a second biasing member.
Body fluid extraction device
A device for extracting a body fluid and testing a predetermined analyte or property of the fluid is provided. The device comprises a hollow needle having a channel linking a base end and a tip, a collection chamber having an input end in fluid communication with the channel, a testing chamber, a solution chamber and a flow control. The collection chamber comprises a capillary wick configured to transport at least a fraction of the body fluid away from the input end. The testing chamber comprises a testing unit including a reacting material configured to react to a predetermined analyte or property of the fluid and the solution chamber comprises a buffer solution. A flow control is also provided for a transfer of the buffer solution from the solution chamber to the collection chamber and a transfer of the body fluid from the collection chamber to the testing chamber.
Medical device inserters and processes of inserting and using medical devices
An apparatus for insertion of a medical device in the skin of a subject is provided, as well as methods of inserting medical devices.
Medical device inserters and processes of inserting and using medical devices
An apparatus for insertion of a medical device in the skin of a subject is provided, as well as methods of inserting medical devices.
MEDICAL DEVICE INSERTERS AND PROCESSES OF INSERTING AND USING MEDICAL DEVICES
An apparatus for insertion of a medical device in the skin of a subject is provided, as well as methods of inserting medical devices. Embodiments include removing a substantially cylindrical cap from an inserter to expose a substantially cylindrical sleeve, removing a cover from a substantially cylindrical container holding sensor components, and fitting the sensor components into the inserter.
DRIED BLOOD SPOT COLLECTION DEVICE
Apparatuses and methods for dried blood spot (DBS) sample collection are disclosed. A dried blood spot sampling device is configured to deliver blood through a passage to an absorbent disk in the device and control an amount of blood saturating the absorbent disk. The sampling device may include a manually actuatable component adjustable between a first position, in which an outlet of the passage is not in physical contact with the absorbent disk, and a second position, in which the outlet of the passage is in physical contact with the absorbent disk.
