An insole mapping apparatus (10C), including: at least one location sensor (20C) and potentially two or more location sensors such as (20A,20B) each for being attached to one organ of the user (19), for measuring locations (21A,21B,21C) of the organs in relation to at least one stationary object (26A); and a processor (29), for determining deformations (36A1) of a body of the user (19) according to the measurements (21A,21B,21C), and for determining an insole map (74) being opposite to the determined deformations (36A1).
Athletic activity monitoring device with energy capture
Aspects relate to an energy harvesting device adapted for use by an athlete while exercising. The device may utilize a mass of phase-change material to store heat energy, the stored heat energy subsequently converted into electrical energy by one or more thermoelectric generator modules. The energy harvesting device may be integrated into an item of clothing, and such that the mass of phase change material may store heat energy as the item of clothing is laundered.
Monitoring fitness using a mobile device
Athletic performance monitoring and tracking may provide multiple ways in which to track athletic movement and activity. Workouts may also be tagged with various parameters including mood, weather, terrain, athletic equipment, friends used and the like. Workout information may be shared to social messaging and networking outlets. Workout information shared may include map information including images of maps, interactive maps, links to maps, route information and the like and/or combinations thereof. Additionally or alternatively, an application may be configured to execute within a context of a social networking system to facilitate athletic activity data transfer and generation of workout entries in the social networking site.
Method and apparatus for early detection of diabetic foot disorders by analyzing foot temperature and vertical and shear forces on feet
A system for analysis of user gait and foot disorder intended to minimize risks ulceration and limb amputation associated with the uncontrolled increase of the foot temperature in persons with diabetes. This system comprises a motion, force and temperature sensors and a processing element configured to process motion algorithms, measure ground reaction force (GRF) and changes in foot temperature embedded in the footwear insoles in communication with a smartphone based analysis application using wireless radio interface. The analysis application processes data received from the footwear sensors, compares the results with set of criteria and rules, and if any of the predefined criteria is exceeded, provides alerts to the user and the remote medical supervisor. Additionally, the insoles may be equipped with a haptic actuators configured to determine the level of the user neuropathy by measuring vibration perception threshold (VPT) level.
Instrumented Footwear Device for Upper-Body Exercise Identification
A computing system configured to perform operations that identify user movement(s) as upper-body exercise(s). The operations can include obtaining sensor data generated by one or more sensors of a footwear device worn by a user, the one or more sensors positioned in one or more positions of the footwear device, the sensor data associated with one or more movements performed by the user. The sensor data can be input into a machine-learned exercise identification model. Exercise identification data can be received as an output of the machine-learned exercise identification model. The exercise identification data can identify the one or more movements performed by the user as one or more upper-body exercises performed by the user, the exercise identification data comprising one or more exercise characteristics associated with each upper-body exercise of the one or more upper-body exercises performed by the user.
