Systems and methods for measuring needle depth
Systems and methods are provided for measuring depth, position, and/or angle of a cannula in a medical drug delivery device. In particular, a drug delivery device having a cannula is positioned adjacent to tissue, a voltage pulse is provided to the cannula, a charge is measured at an electrode in the drug delivery device, and the depth of penetration of the cannula is determined based in part on the charge at the first electrode. Systems and methods described herein can be used to determine subcutaneous insertion depth in a wearable bolus injector. In some implementations, insertion depth determination is achieved through capacitive sensors which measure needle depth in a drug delivery device.
NOTIFICATION METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS BLOOD GLUCOSE MONITORING SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a notification method of a continuous glucose monitoring system. A notification method of a continuous glucose monitoring system, according to one embodiment of the present invention, may comprise the steps of: performing a communication connection between a body attachment unit and a communication terminal for the communication terminal to receive blood glucose data measured from the body attachment unit which is attached to a human body and continuously measures blood glucose; transmitting information on the body attachment unit from the body attachment unit to the communication terminal and calculating a remaining use period of the body attachment unit; and generating, in the communication terminal, a notification on the remaining use period of the body attachment unit. According to the present disclosure, as the notification for the remaining period of the body attachment unit is generated in the communication terminal, there is an effect wherein a user can prepare in advance a body attachment unit to be replaced before the use period of the body attachment unit ends.
ANALYTE SENSOR DEVICES, CONNECTIONS, AND METHODS
Devices associated with on-body analyte sensor units are disclosed. These devices include any of packaging and/or loading systems, applicators and elements of the on-body sensor units themselves. Also, various approaches to connecting electrochemical analyte sensors to and/or within associated on-body analyte sensor units are disclosed. The connector approaches variously involve the use of unique sensor and ancillary element arrangements to facilitate assembly of separate electronics assemblies and sensor elements that are kept apart until the end user brings them together.

The present embodiments relate generally to applicators of on-skin sensor assemblies for measuring an analyte in a host, as well as their method of use and manufacture. In some aspects, an applicator for applying an on-skin sensor assembly to a skin of a host is provided. The applicator includes an applicator housing, a needle carrier assembly comprising an insertion element configured to insert a sensor of the on-skin sensor assembly into the skin of the host, a holder releasably coupled to the needle carrier assembly and configured to guide the on-skin sensor assembly while coupled to the needle carrier assembly, and a drive assembly configured to drive the insertion element from a proximal starting position to a distal insertion position, and from the distal insertion position to a proximal retraction position.
Systems, devices, and methods for energy efficient electrical device activation
Systems, devices, and methods are provided for changing the power state of a sensor control device in an in vivo analyte monitoring system in various manners, such as through the use of external stimuli (light, magnetics) and RF transmissions.

The present embodiments relate generally to apparatuses, systems, and methods for deploying a medical device to skin of a host. The apparatuses, systems, and methods may be directed to removing a liner for a medical device so that the medical device may couple to the skin of the host. The medical device may comprise an on-skin wearable medical device.
BIOMONITORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF LOADING AND RELEASING THE SAME
A system and method for monitoring body chemistry of a user, the system comprising: a housing supporting: a microsensor comprising a first and second working electrode, a reference electrode, and a counter electrode, and configured to access interstitial fluid of the user, and an electronics subsystem comprising a signal conditioning module that receives a signal stream, from the microsensor, wherein the electronics subsystem is configured to detect an impedance signal derived from two of the first working electrode, the second working electrode, the reference electrode, and the counter electrode; and a processing subsystem comprising: a first module configured to generate an analysis indicative of an analyte parameter of the user and derived from the signal stream and the impedance signal, and a second module configured to transmit information derived from the analysis to the user, thereby facilitating monitoring of body chemistry of the user.
HEXAMETHYLDISILOXANE MEMBRANES FOR ANALYTE SENSORS
Embodiments of the invention provide methods and materials for making analyte sensors having a plurality of layered elements such as amperometric glucose sensors that are used by diabetic individuals to monitor blood sugar concentrations. Embodiments of the invention utilize plasma deposition technologies to form thin films of hexamethyldisiloxane useful in such sensors. Sensors that incorporate the thin film compositions formed by these processes exhibit a number of desirable characteristics.
GLUCOSE SENSOR BASED ON OPEN CIRCUIT POTENTIAL (OCP) SIGNAL
A device for determining a glucose level of a patient includes a set of electrodes comprising a first working electrode, a second working electrode, a counter electrode, and a reference electrode. The reference electrode is electrically coupled to the counter electrode. The device further includes a memory and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and in communication with the memory. The one or more processors configured to determine a sensor signal based on current flowing between the first working electrode and the counter electrode and determine an open circuit potential (OCP) signal based on a voltage across the second working electrode and the reference electrode. The one or more processors are further configured to determine the glucose level of the patient based on the sensor signal and the OCP signal and output an indication of the glucose level.
