The first temperature sensor is configured to pass through the end orifice. The occluder is configured to engage with the tapered interior wall in a fluid-tight seal. The first temperature sensor includes a sense surface and includes a signal node. The signal node is configured to provide a first signal corresponding to a timewise change in temperature at the sense surface.
DEVICE FOR DETERMINING SURFACE PROPERTIES OF HOLLOW STRUCTURES
An elongated device and a system that at the same time allow acquisition of temperature-related data of high spatial and temporal resolution from hollow structures together with other relevant data of physical or chemical variables. In a preferred embodiment infrared or visible light sensors are used to obtain thermal or color images from the inner surface during imposed change of the temperature in the lumen of the hollow structure. The disclosure makes it possible to evaluate thermal variations when the inner surface returns to pre-change thermal conditions. High-resolution data can be obtained with the disclosure. The disclosure further includes a system with rotators, injection pumps, a control unit and display operably coupled to one or more of the data acquisition and processing system.
Apparatus, systems and methods for transvascular access to the brain
The present disclosure discusses a devices, systems and methods for transvascular, transvenous and/or transdural access, to the brain parenchyma, subarachnoid or subdural spaces. In some embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods may be used for local drug delivery, tissue biopsy, nanofluidic or microelectronic device/component delivery/insertion/implantation, in situ imaging, ablation of abnormal brain tissue and the like. Embodiments of the present disclosure include an access catheter system for extravascular procedures in the brain having an elongate, flexible tubular body, with at least one lumen extending axially there through between a proximal end, and a distal end. The access catheter system may include a side exit port and a distal end port. Further, the access catheter system may include a selective deflector positioned within the lumen configured to deflect a procedure catheter and permit a guide catheter.
CATHETER INSERT INCLUDING ONE OR MORE SENSORS
In some examples, a device includes a catheter insert elongated body defining a body lumen, the catheter insert elongated body being configured to be at least partially inserted to a catheter lumen defined by a catheter without covering a first fluid opening of the catheter and to form a fluidically tight coupling with the catheter, and one or more sensors positioned on the elongated body. At least one of the one or more sensors are configured to sense a substance of interest. The catheter insert elongated body includes a material that is a substantially non-permeable to the substance of interest.
SINGLE EXTRUSION TRIPLE LUMEN DEVICE
A single extrusion triple lumen expandable device designed for obtaining tissue from the aerodigestive tract is provided. The device may have internal and external folds and a tissue collection surface for collecting a tissue sample from a body lumen, such as the nose or throat. The device includes a camera and lumens for enhanced functionality. The present invention is also directed to methods of collecting a tissue sample using the devices, described herein.
Method of determining target treatment locations
A method and system for automatic location of a target treatment structure, such as a pulmonary vein ostium, from an anatomical image. The method includes calculating a most likely path of blood flow through a pulmonary vein based on a cross-sectional area minimization technique and calculating pulmonary vein geometry as a function of length. For example, a pulmonary vein ostium may be located by analyzing a change in pulmonary vein dimensional size or other anatomical factors, such as absolute size. The method may also include determining tissue thickness at the pulmonary vein ostium or other treatment size for treatment dose optimization. The method may be an algorithm performed by a processing unit of a navigation system or other component of a medical system.
OXYGEN MEASUREMENT DEVICE AND OXYGEN MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
An oxygen measurement device constituting an oxygen measurement system includes a urethral catheter and an oxygen sensor main body. The urethral catheter has a shaft in which a urethral catheter lumen that enables circulation of urine flowed in via a urethral catheter port from inside a bladder is formed; and has a hub in which a urine lumen that is provided at a proximal end of the shaft and communicates with the urethral catheter lumen is formed. The oxygen sensor main body is provided on the hub in a manner capable of being brought into contact with urine circulating in the urine lumen, and detects oxygen in the urine.
Anchored Working Channel
A method of performing medical procedure includes inserting a working channel into a bodily cavity, the working channel having an elongated shaft with a first lumen and a second lumen and an inflatable balloon positioned at a distal end of the shaft and having a mesh disposed an outer wall thereof, wherein the mesh creates a textured surface that prevents slippage of the balloon on surrounding tissue, advancing the working channel through the bodily cavity until the inflatable balloon reaches an anchoring position, anchoring the working channel at the anchoring position by supplying fluid via a pump until the balloon is inflated and the textured surface grips the surrounding tissue, inserting at least one medical instrument through the second lumen and performing the medical procedure, withdrawing the medical instrument from the second lumen, deflating the inflatable balloon, and withdrawing the working channel from the bodily cavity.
