SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERY OF GEL EMBOLICS
Delivery systems for liquid embolics and methods of using them are disclosed. The devices generally include a catheter and one or more retention elements to limit migration of the liquid embolic to non-target sites.
BLOOD VESSEL TREATMENT METHOD
A blood vessel treatment method including inserting a medical device into a blood vessel, the medical device including an elongate shaft portion and a contact portion configured to contact a biological tissue in the blood vessel; bringing the contact portion into contact with the biological tissue in the blood vessel; twisting the blood vessel by moving the contact portion; and releasing a treatment agent from the medical device for occluding or contracting a lumen of the blood vessel.
Automatic monitoring of fluid injection procedures using a sensing catheter
A method of monitoring a fluid injection procedure is provided. The method includes: disposing a sensor on a catheter, where the sensor is in proximity to a tip of the catheter; inserting at least the tip of the catheter into a patient; delivering a fluid to a location within the patient via the tip of the catheter; and automatically monitoring a sensor signal from the sensor while the fluid is being delivered. Reflux end-point detection using an electrical impedance sensor has been demonstrated in a phantom. Applications include embolotherapy and angiography.
ADHESIVE COVER OCCLUDING DEVICE FOR ANEURYSM TREATMENT
The device includes a net portion for occluding an aneurysm neck and an adhesive to secure the net portion. The device can further include a channel orifice opening in the net portion, and an agent channel for delivering a rapid-curing agent through the orifice into the aneurysm. Devices can be delivered through a catheter to the aneurysm, the net can expand to occlude the aneurysm neck, and the net can be adhered to the aneurysm neck. In devices including a channel orifice and agent channel, the rapid-curing agent can be injected into the aneurysm. During injection of the rapid-curing agent, the net portion can create a barrier to inhibit the rapid-curing agent from exiting the aneurysm. After injection of the coagulation agent, portions of the treatment device, excluding the net portion, can be extracted from the patient.
Janjua Aneurysm Net with a Stiff Proximal Portion and a Flexible Distal Portion
This invention is an intrasacular aneurysm occlusion device comprising a flexible net or mesh with a proximal portion and a distal portion which is inserted into and expanded within an aneurysm sac. The proximal portion is stiffer and/or less flexible than the distal portion. The device also includes an opening through which embolic members and/or embolic material is inserted into the flexible net or mesh. Insertion of embolic members and/or material causes the flexible net or mesh to expand and conform to the walls of even an irregularly-shaped aneurysm sac.
Intrasacular Aneurysm Occlusion Device with an Embolic-Filled Flexible Mesh Formed from a Radially-Constrained Tubular Mesh
This invention is an intrasacular aneurysm occlusion device with an embolic-filled flexible mesh which is formed from a tubular mesh by encircling, pinching, inverting, and/or everting the tubular mesh at one or more longitudinal locations using one or more rings, bands, or cylinders. Embolic material is inserted into the flexible mesh through the rings, bands, or cylinders.
Methods, devices and systems for filling body cavities
In various aspects, present disclosure is directed to methods, devices and systems whereby one or more low viscosity fluids may be introduced into a catheter and whereby the one or more low viscosity fluids may be converted into a high viscosity fluid in the catheter, which high viscosity fluid may be delivered from an exit port of the catheter.
EMBOLIZATION MICROCATHETER HEAD HAVING SLITTED PATTERN
An embolization microcatheter having an elongated microcatheter body configured for passing therein a suspension of particles suspended in a suspension fluid; and a microcatheter head connected to a distal end of said microcatheter body and comprising a proximal head section and a distal head section, wherein the proximal head section includes a proximal wall forming a proximal section lumen, the proximal wall having a plurality of through-holes, wherein the distal head section includes a distal wall forming a distal section lumen, and a suspension delivery opening at a distal end of the distal end section; wherein the distal section is devoid of through-holes, and wherein each of the plurality of through-holes are shaped and/or sized to allow passage therethrough of the suspension fluid while blocking passage of the particles suspended therein.
Intrasacular Aneurysm Occlusion Device with Globular First Configuration and Bowl-Shaped Second Configuration
This invention is an intrasacular aneurysm occlusion device with a proximal stent which is expanded to a globular shape within an aneurysm sac and then compressed into a bowl shape which covers the aneurysm neck. The device further comprises embolic members and/or embolic material which is inserted into a distal portion of the aneurysm sac. The proximal stent component covers the aneurysm neck so as to reduce blood flow into the aneurysm sac and the accumulated embolic members and/or embolic material in the distal portion of the aneurysm sac keeps the proximal stent in place.
Devices and methods for repair of a selected blood vessel or part thereof and rapid healing of injured internal body cavity walls
In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a catheter having a catheter body, a light emitter disposed at a distal end of the catheter body, and a fluid conduit coupleable to a source of fluid. The fluid conduit configured to discharge fluid from the source via the conduit and out a distal end of the catheter body. A spacing member is disposed at the distal end of the catheter body and can be moved between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. In the expanded configuration, the spacing member is disposed about the light emitter. The spacing member is at least partially transmissive and/or transflective of light emitted from the light emitter. The apparatus configured to be inserted at least partially into a body lumen, to discharge fluid into the body lumen, and to emit light from the light emitter to illuminate an interior wall of the body lumen.
