Retraction force sensing basket
A stone retrieval device includes a sheath and a stone retrieval basket that includes a distal region with a plurality of basket wires and a proximal region with one or more core wires. The stone retrieval basket is contained within the sheath and is movable out a distal opening of the sheath to cause the plurality of basket wires to open into a basket shape. The stone retrieval device further includes a lock mechanism that locks the position of the stone retrieval basket with respect to the position of the sheath and a basket force controller that includes a first and a second control stage. The first control stage includes a sensor for measuring force on the stone retrieval basket when the lock mechanism is in an unlocked position, and the second control stage includes a sensor for measuring force when the lock mechanism is in a locked position.
HANDLES FOR MEDICAL DEVICES
A medical device handle may include an actuator; a first pulley; and a second pulley. The second pulley may be movable relative to the first pulley along an axis extending between a first axle of the first pulley and a second axle of the second pulley. A pull member may be wrapped around the first pulley and the second pulley, and coupled to the actuator and a control member may be coupled to the second pulley. Movement of the second pulley along the axis may be configured to move the control member in a direction parallel to or coaxial with the axis.
Microsurgical handle and instrument
A microsurgical handle and instrument may include an actuation structure having an actuation structure distal end and an actuation structure proximal end, a plurality of actuation arms of the actuation structure, and an actuation structure base. A compression of the actuation structure may be configured to extend the actuation structure distal end relative to the actuation structure proximal end. A compression of the actuation structure may be configured to expand an extension joint of an actuation arm of the plurality of the actuation arms. A decompression of the actuation structure may be configured to retract the actuation structure distal end relative to the actuation structure proximal end. A decompression of the actuation structure may be configured to collapse an extension joint of an actuation arm of the plurality of actuation arms.
Tissue extraction devices and related methods
A marking device may include a body. The body may be configured to transition between a closed configuration and an open configuration. The body may further include two arms. A distal end of each arm may be coupled to a distal end of the body. The marking device may further include a suture coupled to the body. Application of a force on a proximal end of each arm may be configured to cause the body to transition between the closed configuration and the open configuration.
Perfected device for the transosseous insertion of suture threads
The invention concerns a perfected device for the transosseous insertion of suture threads. This device comprises a main body (1) supporting a protruding cannula (3) provided with an active end (30); the device comprises a flexible threadlike element (4), on which there are fashioned a sharp tip (40) and an opening (41) that serves for the threading of at least one suture thread (5), said element (4) being housed in a coaxially sliding manner inside said cannula (3) and, on command, exiting from the active end (30) of the cannula, assuming a curved position; the device comprises first means for producing the coaxial movement of the threadlike element (4) in the two directions with respect to the cannula (3) and second means for producing a coaxial movement of the threadlike element in the exiting direction from the cannula (3); for a short tract, the movement produced by the second means is disengaged from the advancement of the threadlike element produced by the first means.
Medical articulation devices and methods of using the same
A medical device that includes a handle, a shaft extending distally from the handle, an end effector extending distally from the shaft, a first actuator movably coupled to the handle, and a second actuator movably coupled to the handle. The first actuator is configured to (1) articulate the shaft in response to translating the first actuator in a first direction relative to the handle and the second actuator, and (2) actuate the end effector in response to translating the first actuator in a second direction relative to the handle and the second actuator. The second actuator is configured to (1) articulate the shaft in response to translating the second actuator in the first direction relative to the handle and the first actuator, and (2) actuate the end effector in response to translating the second actuator in the second direction relative to the handle and the first actuator.
Snare auto micro-lock
A surgical snare is provided having an operating wire and an outer sheath having a lumen extending therethrough, wherein the operating wire is disposed within the lumen and is longitudinally movable within the lumen. The surgical snare also has a first locking member attached to the operating wire and a second locking member attached to the outer sheath. The first locking member is frictionally engageable with the second locking member by sliding the outer sheath longitudinally along the operating wire until the first locking member contacts the second locking member. The operating wire is prevented from moving longitudinally with respect to the outer sheath when the first locking member is frictionally engaged with the second locking member.
Adjustable Pressure Surgical Clamp with Releasable or Integrated Remote Manipulator for Laparoscopies
A surgical clamp for laparoscopic or endoscopic surgeries provides autonomous adjustable pressure and placement with a releasable or integrated remote manipulator. Two jaws move simultaneously with respect to the main body of the clamp to open and close to secure or release tissue and/or organs. In a first embodiment, the instrument is made up of two separable components; a remote manipulator component, and a releasable adjustable pressure clamp component that is linked or separated at an interlocking connection point. The main body of the clamp includes a central tubular port through which a pressure bar passes. An assembly of cam arms connects the push rod to jaws, allowing for symmetrical and simultaneous actuation. A compression spring is positioned around the pressure bar and is secured by an adjustable nut on the threaded end of the pressure bar. Adjustment varies the compressive force of the spring and thereby the gripping force.
Rotatable Endoscopic Instrument
An endoscopic includes a handle, a tubular member, a control member, and an end effector assembly. The handle has a stationary member and a movable member. The movable member includes a constrained curved path for passage of the control member. The tubular member has an end coupled to the stationary member and a distal end rotatably coupled to the end effector assembly. The control member extends through the curved path, the tubular member, and is coupled to the end effector assembly. A knob is attached to the movable member and control member. Displacement of the movable member relative to the stationary member causes actuation of the end effector assembly, and rotation of the knob on the movable member causes the control member to rotate within both the constrained curved path and the tubular member, and results in rotation of the end effector assembly.
SLIDER AND SURGICAL INSTRUMENT
A slider includes a slider body movable in a linear direction with respect to a casing of a surgical instrument, and a roller between the casing and the slider body. The roller is rotatable with respect to the casing and the slider body.
