A clamping device includes a clamp body and a locking assembly. The clamp body includes a first jaw defining a first opening and a second jaw defining a second opening. The locking assembly includes a first locking element, a second locking element, and a lever. The first locking element includes a first end and a shaft portion extending from the first end. The shaft portion is sized to pass through the first opening and the second opening. The locking assembly is configured to reduce a distance between the first jaw and the second jaw responsive to rotation of the second locking element. The lever is configured to attach to the second locking element and rotate about the second locking element from a first position to a second position to cause the distance between the first jaw and the second jaw to be reduced further.

STABLE LOCKING FIXATION OF THREADED BONE PINS AND OTHER COMPONENTS OF RING EXTERNAL FIXATOR

A locking mechanism provides rotational stability to the threaded bone pins and other fixator components by modifying the opposing surfaces of the pin fixation bolt, the ring and other fixator components at their interface so that they can interlock with each other. A pin fixation bolt can be used to connect different diameter threaded bone pins. A multipurpose post enables variable angle and rotationally stable insertion of threaded bone pin and versatile use of the multipurpose post to replace currently available various fixator components. Plates enable rotationally stable, variable angle and variable position connection of the plates so that rings offset to each other can be connected without using oblique supports. Reversibly lockable hinges allow the hinge articulation to be locked or unlocked as desired, during the course of the treatment.

A fixation device comprises a first body having a threaded end, a longitudinal axis, and a bore perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. A second body is received in the bore. The second body has an exterior thread and an interior passage for receiving a pin or wire. The second body has a wire locking device for retaining the pin or wire. An advance nut engages the exterior thread. The advance nut abuts the first body for moving the wire locking device away from the first body when the advance nut is turned, for tensioning the pin or wire.

An external fixator system includes a proximal frame configured to restrict motion in a lower extremity of a subject, and a frame connector assembly. The proximal frame includes a first, second, and third component. The first component can support a first clamp to secure a first pin inserted within a bone extending between a foot and a knee of the lower extremity. The third component extends from a second end of the second component. The first, second and third components have longitudinal axes that are substantially coplanar. The third component includes an extension to extend over a dorsal portion of the foot of the subject and to support a second clamp to secure a second pin inserted within a bone of the foot. The frame connector assembly extends from the second component to support a third clamp to secure a third pin inserted within a third bone of the foot.

BONE PLATING KIT FOR FOOT AND ANKLE APPLICATIONS

A bone plate kit may be provided for a foot or ankle orthopedic procedure, such as a lapidus procedure. In some examples, the bone plate kit includes a sterile container that holds multiple unicortical bone plate fasteners and one or more bone plates. For example, the kit may contain two bone plates configured to be used together during a tarsal-metatarsal fusion procedure. Each of the two bone plates may be configured to span different regions of a tarsal-metatarsal joint. The unicortical bone plate fasteners can be used to secure the two bone plates to the first metatarsal and medial cuneiform of a patient undergoing a procedure. In some configurations, one of the bone plates is a helical bone plate while the other bone plate may or may not be a helical bone plate.

System and method for an external hip fixator

Embodiments of the invention provide a fracture fixation device and method for treatment of a bone fracture. The fracture fixation device includes a main body having a recess formed therein, and a compression element is configured to be received in the recess. The compression element has a passage dimensioned to receive a fracture fixation pin. A compressive force is generated across the bone fracture upon the compression element receiving the fracture fixation pin to promote healing of the bone fracture. The fracture fixation device is an external fixator that provides adjustable aspects of compression, rotation, and length in a simple design that facilitates bone healing by compression.

Clamping assembly for external fixation system

A clamping assembly for an external fixation system, comprising a clamp body having an opening for receiving a bone fixation member; a pivotably rotatable locking arm associated with the clamp body, the locking arm being configured to provisionally hold the bone fixation member inside the opening of the clamp body; and a cam arm coupled to the locking arm, the cam arm being pivotably rotatable towards the clamp body to definitively hold the bone fixation member inside the opening of the clamp body.

The present application provides external bone and tissue fixation systems and related methods. The fixation systems may include an elongate beam element defining an axis with an axially extending threaded track portion. The systems may also include at least one drivable fixation clamp assembly comprising a housing with a central bore, a driving housing rotatably coupled to the housing, a threaded driving member, and a clamp assembly rotatably coupled to the housing configured to clamp to at least one fixation member. The elongate beam element may extend axially through central bore of the housing. The driving member may be movable with respect to the central bore via rotation of the driving housing between engaged and disengaged states with the threaded track portion. Rotation of the driving member in the engaged state may axially translate the clamp assembly along the beam element.
