A plate holder instrument includes a base and a clamp. The clamp is displaceable relative to the base in a longitudinal direction and forms a plate receiving recess with the base. The clamp is displaceable between a released position to allow a bone plate to be loaded into and removed from the plate receiving recess, and a clamped position to lock a plate in the plate receiving recess. An actuator is displaceable relative to the base in a first direction to move the clamp to the released position and a second direction to move the clamp to the clamped position. The plate holder instrument can be combined with one or more surgical instruments, bone plates, screws, tools, taps, depth gauges, screw drivers and/or other accessories as a kit.

Resiliant spinal plate system

An embodiment of the invention provides for a system, such as a cervical plate fusion system, that has mechanisms for preventing bone anchors (e.g., screws, pins, and the like) from backing out of the plate. The system prevents both counter-rotation of the screw and axial backing out of the screw. Other embodiments are described herein.

Spinal implant system

A spinal implant system is provided for bridging an intervertebral space between vertebral bodies bordering the intervertebral space. The spinal implant system includes at least one adjustable end cap and a spinal implant. The end cap can be used with additional end caps and/or the spinal implant. Multiple end caps can be stacked on top of one another, and one end cap can be attached to a first end of the spinal implant, and another end cap can be attached to a second end of the spinal implant. Thus, one or more of the end caps can be attached to either end of the spinal implant.

Lateral vertebral lumbar plate system with integrated rotational control mechanism for screw retention

A plate system includes a retention cap and a plate. The retention cap includes a head with tangs and a shank. The shank includes protrusions at an end of the shank and relief cut-outs clocked relative to the protrusions. The plate includes screw holes and a locking feature. The locking feature includes an assembly guide adapted to guide the shank and features thereof into the locking feature, locking detents distal to the top surface of the plate and adapted to receive the protrusions and interfere with rotational movement of the retention cap, and a retainer positioned axially between the assembly guide and the locking detents. The retainer is adapted to prevent axial movement of the retention cap. The locking feature is adapted to hold the retention cap with the tangs overlapping the screw holes and with the tangs not overlapping the screw holes.

The present disclosure provides adjustable spinal devices, instruments for implanting the spinal devices, methods for adjusting the height and lordosis angles of the spinal devices and methods for implanting such devices. An adjustable spinal fusion device includes an upper plate component having an outer surface for placement against an endplate of a vertebral body and a lower plate component having an outer surface for placement against an endplate of a vertebral body. The device further includes a first translation member configured to move longitudinally relative to the upper and lower plates to adjust a distance between the upper and lower plates and a second translation member configured to move longitudinally relative to the upper and lower plates to adjust an angle between the upper and lower plates.

Instrument for inserting a spinal device

In one aspect, a bone anchor assembly is provided having a bone anchor with a head, a resilient locking cap extending about a portion of the bone anchor head, and a cap drive member having a depending annular wall. In another form, a bone plate system is provided including a bone plate having an elongated throughbore and a resilient support member received therein. In another aspect, an insertion device is provided for manipulating and inserting a spinal device at or within a spinal joint. The insertion device is configured to actively pivot the implant about the implant gripping end of the device and to allow manipulation and release of the implant in any pivoted orientation from approximately 0 to 90 degrees.

A spinal plate system that makes it possible to check the extent to which a screw for anchoring the device to a vertebra is inserted in the vertebra is proposed. The spinal plate system includes a fixing plate having a plurality of first fastening holes formed through a surface thereof, a plurality of screws, which are respectively inserted into the plurality of first fastening holes and are threadedly coupled to a vertebra, and a locking rivet, which is disposed adjacent to the plurality of fastening holes and which comes into contact with first ends of the plurality of screws so as to hold the plurality of screws, the locking rivet including an elastic portion, which is elastically deformed by the plurality of screws when the screws are inserted into the fixing plate and which is elastically restored after the screws are completely inserted to a predetermined depth.
