An expandable laminoplasty device has a superior plate, an inferior plate, threaded or racked gear post having external threads or gear teeth, the post affixed to one of the superior plate or the inferior plate, and a gear nut or pinion gear, the gear has internal threads or external gear teeth configured to engage external threads or gear teeth of the post. The gear is held in one of the superior plate or inferior plate not affixed to the post and wherein the superior plate or inferior plate not affixed to the post has an end with a slot or channel to receive the post and a side opening to receive and hold the gear.

Orthopedic growing devices

An expandable rod system includes a first rod portion having an internal cavity, a second rod portion sealingly positioned within the internal cavity of the first rod portion and moveable in a first axial direction relative to the first rod portion, and an osmotic chamber for receiving an osmotic agent to facilitate movement of the second rod portion to expand the rod system. The rod system includes a lock assembly engageable with the second rod portion to prevent the second rod portion from moving in a second axial direction. The lock assembly includes a tapered ramped portion and a bearing member that is moveable within the tapered ramped portion such that when compression forces are imparted on the second rod portion, the bearing member becomes wedged in the tapered ramped portion.

Augmented spanning fixation bone plate assembly

An augmented spanning fixation bone plate assembly combines an augmentation fixation bone plate with a spanning fixation bone plate. The augmentation fixation bone plate may be detachably attachable to the spanning fixation bone plate and may be slidably engaged with the spanning fixation bone plate to allow the augmentation fixation bone plate to be positioned for augmented fixation, wherein one or more separate bones are fixed with respect to the spanning fixation bone plate. An augmentation fixation bone plate may have one or more wings that extend laterally from the spanning fixation bone plate. An augmentation fixation bone plate may have two wings that extend in opposing lateral directions from the spanning fixation bone. A wing has a fastener aperture that may be slotted and may have an insert to enable directional fixation, wherein the fastener extends in an offset angle.

ADJUSTABLE DEVICES FOR TREATING ARTHRITIS OF THE KNEE

A method of changing a bone angle includes creating an osteotomy between a first portion and a second portion of a tibia of a patient; creating a cavity in the tibia by removing bone material along an axis extending in a substantially longitudinal direction from a first point at the tibial plateau to a second point; placing a non-invasively adjustable implant into the cavity, the non-invasively adjustable implant comprising an adjustable actuator having an outer housing and an inner shaft, telescopically disposed in the outer housing, and a driving element configured to be remotely operable to telescopically displace the inner shaft in relation to the outer housing; coupling one of the outer housing or the inner shaft to the first portion of the tibia; coupling the other of the outer housing or the inner shaft to the second portion of the tibia; and remotely operating the driving element to telescopically displace the inner shaft in relation to the outer housing, thus changing an angle between the first portion and second portion of the tibia.

Active compression devices, methods of assembly and methods of use are disclosed. A bone fixation device may include a first member, a second member shaped to engage the first member, and at least one deformable member. A bone fusion device including a female member with a proximal and distal end, a male member with a proximal and distal end, and at least one elastic element positioned between the female member and the male member. A bone plating device including a first member, a second member shaped to engage the first member, and at least one deformable member positioned between the first member and the second member. Methods of assembling and using the bone fixation devices, bone fusion devices, and bone plating devices are also disclosed.

Dynamic implant fixation plate

The dynamic implant fixation plate and implant configured to accept the disclosed fixation plate can, in some aspects, provide a means of fixing an implant relative one or more planes while allowing motion relative to one or more planes. The use of the disclosed fixation plate and corresponding implant can reduce the occurrence of stress shielding and permit enhanced loading of the implant site.

BONE-STABILIZING DEVICE HAVING A PIVOTABLE BUTTRESS MEMBER

Devices and methods for stabilizing bone. An exemplary device may comprise a plate, an arm, and a buttress member. The plate may define one or more apertures configured to receive one or more fasteners that secure the plate onto a first bone region. The arm may project from an edge of the plate. The buttress member may be connected pivotably to an end of the arm. The buttress member may be configured to be pivoted by contact with a second bone region to conform an orientation of the buttress member to the second bone region, and may apply compression to, and/or support, the second bone region.

GUIDED GROWTH DEVICE AND METHOD
20220071671 · 2022-03-10 ·

An orthopaedic device for securing between first and second regions of bone separated by a growth plate, the orthopaedic device comprising: a first portion to secure to a first fixing location on the first bone region; a second portion to secure to a second fixing location on the second bone region, the first fixing location and the second fixing location being laterally offset relative to a longitudinal axis of the bone; wherein the first and second portions are pivotally coupled between a first coupling location on the first portion and a second coupling location on the second portion such that movement of the first and second portions away from each other in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bone causes relative rotation of the first bone region and the second bone region thereby reducing the lateral offset of the first location and the second location.

CLAVICLE SEGMENTAL PLATE SYSTEM

A medial plate for treating fractures along a clavicle, comprising a plate body including a longitudinal component extending from a first end to a second end and an extension extending from the second end, the second end configured to be mounted over a medial head, a first set of variable angle holes extending through a portion of the longitudinal component including the second end of the longitudinal component and the extension, each of the first set of variable angle holes extending through the plate body along a central axis so that a bone screw is insertable therethrough at a user-selected angle relative to the central axis, and a plurality of combination holes extending through the longitudinal component, each of the plurality of combination holes includes a first portion configured to receive a bone screw at a user-selected angle and a second portion configured to receive a compression screw.
