PATIENT-SPECIFIC ARTIFICIAL TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT
A patient-specific artificial temporomandibular joint is proposed. The patient-specific artificial temporomandibular joint includes: a temporal bone coupling part including a fixing body that is fixed to the temporal bone of a patient and a head receiver that is detachably coupled to the fixing body and provides a close-contact curved surface being open downward; and a mandible coupling part including a coupling body that is fixed to the mandible of a patient and a head that has a spherical shape and is supported by the coupling body in contact with the close-contact curved surface of the head receiver. The patient-specific artificial temporomandibular joint is manufactured by 3-D printing on the basis of shape data of the temporal bone or the mandible of a patient, so a good implanting effect is provided and the patient quickly recovers. Further, worn parts can be partially replaced, thus there is a little burden of maintenance.
Hybrid Bone Plates and Related Systems and Methods
A bone plate includes a main body defining one or more openings and a cavity. A support member formed of a different material than the material of the main body is disposed in the cavity and defines one or more openings, each of which is coaxial with an opening of the main body. The support member extends into circumferential recesses defined by the main body. Circumferential projections bounding each main body opening are disposed between circumferential projections of the main body and are disposed entirely within the support member. Bone plate systems, methods of treatment, and methods of manufacturing are also described.
Patella bone plate and methods of fixation
A patella fracture fixation system includes a bone plate that is configured to be implanted along an anterior approach. The bone plate has a fixation hub and a plurality of fixation nodes that are connected to the fixation hub. The fixation hub and the fixation nodes can define respective fixation holes. The bone plate can further include legs that are configured to be bent around respective inferior aspects of the patella.
FIXATION ASSEMBLIES FOR MEDICAL IMPLANTS
Systems, devices and methods are provided for implanting medical devices into patients. The systems, devices and methods are particularly useful for orthopedic implants, such as spinal implants that facilitate fusion of bone segments. A fixation assembly for an implant comprises a screw having a head and a shaft, and a washer having at least one outer surface with one or more frictional elements for engaging a surface of the implant. The shaft includes one or more projections that cooperate with the washer to prevent the washer from sliding back down the screw, while allowing for easy application of the washer to ensure optimal placement and desired contact with the screw head. The washer and/or the screw head may also include interlocking cams that create a wedge effect that inhibits the screw from backing out or loosening from a hole in bone or other tissue.
Proximal humeral stabilization system
Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially proximal humeral stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion extending along a longitudinal axis and an enlarged head portion extending from the elongated portion. The stabilization system may include an intramedullary nail having an upper portion and a lower portion extending from the upper portion, the upper portion and the lower portion including a plurality of holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and/or one or more of the plurality of holes in the intramedullary nail and into the bone. The plate and nail may each be used alone or in combination together to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a humerus.
Bone fixation system with fasteners and a removal tool for decoupling of the fasteners
A locking clip for retaining a fastener in a bone fixation plate, the locking clip comprising a flexure member and a body member coupled to the flexure member, the body member comprising a locking tab, the locking tab configured to provide an axial limitation to motion of the fastener in a non-rotationally-ratcheting manner, the flexure member resiliently flexible to permit displacement of the locking tab to allow passage of a fastener head of the fastener, the locking tab configured to translate a downward force of the fastener head into a lateral spreading force to effect the displacement, the body member defining a clip tool engagement cavity for translational displacement of the locking tab.
Implant and method for ankle syndemosis treatment
An implant includes a curved first plate section having a curvature about a longitudinal axis extending in a longitudinal direction. The first plate section has a first hole and a second hole. The first hole and the second hole are positioned to receive respective bone screws for attaching the implant to a first curved surface of a bone having a syndesmosis. A second plate section extends continuously from the first plate section. The second plate section has at least a third hole that is positioned to be offset from the first hole and the second hole in a direction that is anterior or posterior from the first hole and the second hole in a case where the longitudinal axis is aligned along a superior-inferior direction. The third hole is configured to receive at least one screw or at least one button for holding a suture at a position offset from the first line segment hole and the second hole in the anterior or posterior direction, for reducing the syndesmosis.
Metatarsal fixation device, system and method
A metatarsal fixation device is provided for fixation of osteotomy or fracture of a distal metatarsal metaphysis bone of the human foot and for fixation of an associated capsule to the metatarsal head. The device includes a metallic bone plate with a series of screw holes along an elongated portion of the plate and a combination of a singular screw hole and a resilient clamp on an end of the elongated portion. The resilient clamp has two arched resilient arms extending laterally outward from an end of the elongated portion. Each arm has a plurality of spikes on an inner surface thereof providing points of contact that compress and attach a metatarsal phalangeal joint capsule portion to the medial and/or lateral aspect of the metatarsal head, thereby facilitating realignment of the metatarsophalangeal joint and respective digit. The resilient arms are biased to grasp lateral sides of a metatarsal head and any associated capsule portion.
STABILIZATION SYSTEMS
Devices, systems, and methods of bone stabilization. The bone stabilization system includes a bone plate having an upper surface and a lower surface configured to be in contact with bone, the bone plate having an opening extending from the upper surface to the lower surface. The opening is configured to receive a fastener, which may be either a locking fastener or a compression fastener. The locking fastener has a threaded head portion configured to engage and lock to the bone plate, and the compression fastener is configured to dynamically compress the bone.
