Intramedullary implant with proximal plate and method for its use

An orthopedic implant is specifically configured for use in osteotomies, in which part of the implant extends into an intramedullary portion of a first bone segment and a plate portion is external to the cortical surface of an adjacent bone segment to fix the segments to allow them to fuse. The body of the implant has a first end and a second end where the end which is inserted into the bone has a chamfer and a through hole having a hole axis optionally at an oblique angle to the longitudinal axis of the implant, and which can receive a screw, peg or pin. The second end of the implant includes a plate portion with at least two offset screws.

K-wire implants for fractures

A variety of K-wires with imbedded plates are disclosed that allow for the plate in K-wire to be secured to the bone after insertion. Further, a donut shaped washer for capturing and securing the K-wire is disclosed. Also, a screw with a channel is disclosed that has a head shaped to capture and secure the K-wire. Finally, embodiments of a slotted washer are disclosed that captures and secures the K-wire.

Reduction and fixation apparatus for calcaneal fracture

A calcaneal fracture fixation and reduction apparatus.

BONE FUSION PLATE AND SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ITS USE IN THE WRIST

The present invention relates to a crescent or tri-corner shaped orthopedic plate with at least a first and a second end, and generally coextensive top and bottom surfaces joined directly or indirectly by an edge. The plate includes a plurality of fixation holes the first end of the plate and a second end of the plate that receives locking screws and intermediate the two holes, the plate includes a recess that defines a screw hole edge at an angle relative to the top surface of the plate so as to receive and support a screw in the recess. The invention further relates to a method of fusion using the plate and a clamp designed for the method.

Bone plating system clamp sizing instrument and installation instrument

A measuring instrument configured to measure a bone and a plate to determine the size of an attachment clamp, including: a medial clamp configured to engage a medial portion of the bone; a medial gauge connected to the medial clamp, the medial gauge including: a key along a portion of the medial gauge adjacent the medial clamp; a gauge indicator configured to indicate the size of attachment clamp; and a threaded portion; a lateral clamp configured to engage a plate on the bone, where the lateral clamp has a hollow portion with a channel, wherein the gauge indicator is positioned in the hollow portion and wherein the channel is configured to engage the key of the gauge indicator to prevent the lateral clamp from rotating about the gauge indicator; and a tightening knob threaded onto the thread portion of the of the medial gauge, wherein one end of the tightening knob indicates on the gauge indicator the size of the attachment clamp.

Bone fusion/fixation device and related systems and methods

The various embodiments disclosed herein relate to bone fixation or fusion devices, including intramedullary fixation or fusion devices that are implanted around the target bone. Certain device embodiments relates to devices that can be bent or otherwise deformed to replicate the natural or desired curve of the bone or joint being treated. In addition, other embodiments relate to implantation devices that can be used to implant or position the bone fixation or fusion devices.

Wrist arthrodesis plate and method using a wrist arthrodesis plate

A wrist arthrodesis plate (20) consisting of a distal region (21) and of a proximal region (22) which adjoins the distal region (21) in the direction of a longitudinal axis (A). The plate (20) is of such a shape and size that the distal region (21) of the plate can be fastened to the carpus (1) and a proximal region (22) of the plate can be fastened to the radius (3) by fastening devices, such as screws, which can be inserted into plate holes. A distal end region (29), which comprises a farthest distal location (23) of the plate (20), is of a shape and size that the distal end region (29) can be placed with the farthest distal location (23) exactly, and only, on a carpal bone from the group comprising trapezium (11), trapezoid (10), capitate (9) and hamate (8), without covering any part of the laterally adjacent bones.

Patella bone plate and methods of fixation

A patella fracture fixation system includes a bone plate that is configured to be implanted along an anterior approach. The bone plate has a fixation hub and a plurality of fixation nodes that are connected to the fixation hub. The fixation hub and the fixation nodes can define respective fixation holes. The bone plate can further include legs that are configured to be bent around respective inferior aspects of the patella.

Examples of the invention relate to methods, implants, and instruments for compressing first and second bone portions or a bone portion and an implant together.

Bone plate for attaching to an anatomic structure

A plate for attaching to an anatomic structure with fasteners. A body defines openings for receiving the fasteners, and includes a bottom surface that is concave. The plate includes bone pad surface, and a spike extends away from the bone pad surface. The bone pad surface is oriented at an angle relative to the bottom surface to prevent further penetration of the spike into the anatomic structure beyond a predetermined depth. The bone pad surface may be oriented at an obtuse angle relative to the bottom surface. The bone pad surfaces may be planar or concave, or contoured to a corresponding profile of the anatomic structure. The spikes may be pyramidal or conical. At least one side of the spike may be integral and continuous with the bottom surface. The side may have a radius of curvature equal to that of the bottom surface.
