BONE FIXATION DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A femur fixation system includes an intramedullary nail that includes a first bending stiffness and a bone plate that includes a second bending stiffness and a second torsional stiffness. In the femur fixation system either at least one of the second torsional stiffness compensates for the first torsional stiffness and the first torsional stiffness is insufficient to enable the intramedullary nail to stabilize the bone fracture independently of the bone plate or the first bending stiffness compensates for the second bending stiffness and the second bending stiffness is insufficient to enable the bone plate to stabilize the bone fracture independently of the intramedullary nail.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR JOINING BONES
Apparatus and methods are provided for using a plate to fuse bones together, including reducing or stabilizing a fracture or osteotomy. Legs of the plate are inserted into pre-drilled guide holes in one of the bones and one or more screws are inserted through apertures and into another of the bones to secure the plate to the bones. A plate insertion tool can be used to temporarily tension the legs prior to insertion into predrilled guide holes in a bone by bending or pivoting the legs away from the body. A tensioning tool can be used to tension the plate after the legs are inserted into the guide holes in the bone and during the insertion of one or more of the screws.
Acromioclavicular hook plate
A bone plate for treating acromioclavicular dislocations includes a shaft including a lateral portion sized and shaped to be positioned along a superior aspect of a lateral clavicle, the shaft including a plurality of openings extending therethrough for receiving bone fixation elements therein and a hook member extending from the shaft so that, in an operative position, the hook member is hooked under an acromion and the lateral portion of the shaft is positioned on the superior aspect of the lateral clavicle, the lateral portion of the shaft being substantially rounded so that the hook member is movable in one of an anterior direction and a posterior direction while the shaft maintains contact with the superior aspect of the lateral clavicle without any portion of the lateral portion of the shaft protruding beyond a surface of the lateral clavicle.
Drill alignment guide
A surgical drill alignment guide is disclosed that can provide an accurate trajectory for placement of a bone screw along a longitudinal axis of a bone.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPLANTATION OF SPINAL PLATE
A method includes tracking one or more of a plurality of bones of a patient, adjusting a relationship between the plurality of bones to a desired rotation between the plurality of bones, and creating an implant placement plan based on the relationship. The implant placement plan includes a placement of a plate across the plurality of bones. The method also includes robotically assisting preparation of the plurality of bones to receive the plate in accordance with the implant placement plan.
FRACTURE FIXATION PLATE AND SYSTEM
A plate for fracture fixation is provided including a plurality of individually adjustable heads and various features to achieve: a.) superior fixation of the plate to osteoporotic diaphyseal bone; b.) improved visualization of the fracture line; c.) intraoperative adjustability to achieve better contact of the plate and the bone; d.) reduced risk of post-surgery tendon rupture; d.) improved fixation of small volar marginal fragments and, e.) improved targeting and fixing of particular fractured bone fragments.
Drill guides and inserters for bone plates having hook members
A system for assisting a surgeon in implanting hook plate-type bone plates includes a cannulated multiple barreled drill guide, a cannulated inserter/impactor, and a cannulated fastener coupling the inserter/impactor to a bone plate. The multiple barreled drill guide facilitates the drilling of at least two parallel holes at the distal end of a bone at the correct position and angle of entry, and includes a body and two drill guide channels coupled to the body in substantially parallel orientation relative to each other, with a guide pin aperture disposed between and substantially parallel to the drill guide tubes. The inserter/impactor likewise includes a central channel accommodating the same guide pin employed to place and align the multiple barreled drill guide.
Orthopaedic fixation devices, systems and methods
Implantable fixation devices for rejoining opposed portions of a separated bone. The devices include plates that may be affixed to a rib and realign separated portions of the rib or other body part. The devices may also include various locking mechanisms that receive a cable that may be used to realign and bring together separated portions of a bone or other body part. The devices may further include plates that may be affixed to a sternum and realign separated portions of the sternum or other body part.
Systems and Methods for Bone Stabilization and Fixation
Systems for the minimally invasive repair, stabilization and/or fixation of a fractured bone, such as a rib, are disclosed. The systems include one or more rods/support members that are designed to extend along a dimension of a bone being repaired and secure the fractured bone. The support members can be photodynamic and are formed using an expandable member that is filled with a light-sensitive liquid that is cured to form the rigid support member. Two or more clamps are used to secure the support member(s) to the rib or other bone. Minimally invasive surgical methods for securing the systems to a fractured bone are also disclosed.
KIT, PLATE, INSERT, AND METHOD FOR TREATING A CLAVICLE
The invention relates to a kit comprising at least one insert (10, 20) and a plate (1) for treating a bone, specifically a clavicle (B). The plate (1) has a receptacle (6) for the insert (10, 20). The insert (10, 20) has an outer contour (C″) and/or the receptacle (6) has an inner contour (C), wherein the outer contour (C″) and the inner contour (C) fit each other such that the insert (10, 20) inserted into the receptacle (6) can pivot about an axis which runs substantially parallel to a plate top side (0).
