Electrosurgical Electrode and Electrosurgical Tool for Conveying Electrical Energy

An electrosurgical tool for conveying electrical energy comprising an elongated electrode extending in an axial direction from a proximal electrode end to a distal electrode end. The distal electrode end defining a working end configured for cutting or coagulation of tissue by way of electrical energy received by the electrosurgical tool. At least one layer of an insulation material covering an outer surface of the working end so that a portion of the outer surface of the working end is not covered by the insulation material. When electrical energy is provided to the elongated electrode, current is only conducted through an exposed portion of the outer surface of the working end. At least one layer of the insulation material prevents current from straying from the outer surface of the working end covered with the insulation material.

IMPEDANCE CONTROLLED RF TRANSSEPTAL PERFORATION

An example RF ablation system including a transseptal needle having an ablation electrode thereon can be used to perform a transseptal perforation using RF energy. Ablation energy can be applied and/or terminated based on a change in impedance at the ablation electrode when the electrode come into or out of contact with tissue. The transseptal needle can further include magnetic field sensors and one or more electrodes. The magnetic field sensors can be positioned approximate a distal end of the transseptal needle and can be configured to provide location information of the distal end.

Electrosurgical system

An electrosurgical system is provided and includes a bipolar electrosurgical instrument and an electrosurgical generator. The bipolar electrosurgical instrument is arranged to seal and cut tissue captured between jaws of the instrument. The jaws include particularly positioned, shaped and/or oriented electrodes to perform the sealing of tissue. The electrosurgical generator is arranged to supply RF energy through the instrument, monitor the supplied RF energy and adjust or terminate the supplied RF energy to optimally seal the tissue.

ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT

An electrosurgical device having a radiating tip portion for delivering electromagnetic energy to biological tissue, where the electrosurgical device is disposed in a catheter. The electrosurgical device is movable relative to the catheter between a deployed position where the radiating tip portion is exposed and a retracted position where the radiating tip portion is contained within the catheter. In this manner, the radiating tip portion may be retracted until the moment when it is to be used. This may facilitate insertion of the device through an instrument channel of a surgical scoping device. In particular, this may prevent the radiating tip portion from catching on the instrument channel when the device is inserted into the instrument channel, which could cause damage to the instrument channel and/or radiating tip portion.

TREATMENT TIP WITH PROTECTED ELECTRODES

Described herein are treatment tip apparatuses (e.g., devices, systems, etc.) including one, or more preferably a plurality, of electrodes that are protected by an electrode partition, such as an electrode housing (which may be retractable) until pressed against the tissue for deployment of the electrodes and delivery of a therapeutic treatment. In particular, these apparatuses may include a plurality of treatment electrodes (e.g., needle electrodes) and be configured for the delivery of nanosecond pulsed electric fields.

An electric pulse ablation device and a simulation method applicable to the same belong to the technical field of electric pulse devices. A pressure sensor module can realize the early warning of a puncture process, thus avoiding damage of normal organ tissues; and a positioning system can realize positioning navigation of tumor operation puncture. In the present application, according to the changes of the electrolyte parameters collected by a biological impedance analyzer, an impedance adaptation module adjusts input pulse parameters in time, and keeps adaptive high voltage and steep pulse to achieve the best tumor destruction effect; and the ablation effect is very ideal.

BARIATRIC SURGERY OPERATING ROOM WITH A LAPAROSCOPIC-BASED VISCERAL FAT TISSUE ASPIRATION SYSTEM CONFIGURED AND OPERATIONAL FOR TREATING METABOLIC SYNDROME IN HUMAN PATIENTS ON AN AMBULATORY BASIS
20220192729 · 2022-06-23 · ·

A bariatric surgery operating room configured and operational for treating metabolic syndrome in human patients on an ambulatory basis. The bariatric surgery operating room includes a set of trocars for creating laparoscopy portals through small incisions formed in a human patient's body while supported upon an operating table. A source of inert gas is provided for infusion into the abdominal region of the patient so as to cause tenting of the abdominal region and abdominal distension and tenting in a human patient suffering from obesity and likely to benefit from visceral fat removal within the body of the human patient. A laparoscope is inserted through a first one of said trocars and into the abdominal region of the human patient so that a surgeon can capture video images of the abdominal region of the patient, and display the captured video images within the view of the surgeon. A powered tissue aspiration instrument is inserted through a second one of the trocars and into the mesenteric region of the human patient. Gripping tools are inserted through a third and optionally fourth trocars installed in the patient's abdomen, for gripping anatomical structures in the mesenteric region during visceral fat tissue aspiration operations. The laparoscope is used to capture video images of the mesenteric region of the human patient during visceral fat tissue aspiration operations, and display video images to provide laparoscopic guidance to the surgeon while aspirating visceral fat tissue from the mesenteric region of the human patient so as to treat metabolic syndrome of the human patient in a minimally-invasive manner by reducing three or more risk factors associated with metabolic syndrome.
