JOINT REPAIR AUGMENTATION
Disclosed herein is a kit for augmenting a primary repair construct in an articulating joint. The kit includes a flexible member, a first implant that fixes a first end of the flexible member in a first bone adjacent to the primary repair construct and a second implant that may selectively couple to the flexible member, and thereby fix a second end of the flexible member in a second bone adjacent to the primary repair construct. The kit also includes a tension adjusting construct that may operatively couple to the flexible member and controllable adjust a tension on the flexible member disposed between the first and second implant, the tension adjustable so as to define an angle of joint articulation at which the flexible member changes from being passive to augment the primary repair construct.
Dual expansion anchor
A bone anchor, including: a bone engaging member including: a first proximal bone engaging portion and a second distal bone engaging portion; and an expansion feature configured to allow radial expansion of the first bone engaging portion and the second bone engaging portion; an expander having a first proximal expansion portion and a second distal expansion portion and displaceable between a first position relative to the bone engaging member and a second position relative to the bone engaging member; a tissue capture feature; and wherein the first expansion portion of the expander is configured to expand the first bone engaging portion of the bone engaging member and the second expansion portion of the expander is configured to expand the second bone engaging portion of the bone engaging member when the expander is in the second position.
Apparatus and method for repair of disruptions between bones
An apparatus and method for the repair of disruptions between bones. The apparatus defines a combination of sleeves, strands and crimps are provided to secure the bones, using a dual sided drill guide to prepare the bones for installation of the apparatus, which is adjusted upon installation to suit the appropriate alignment and tension of the apparatus. The method includes the preparation of the bones, the installation of the apparatus and the adjustment of the apparatus to properly align and tension the apparatus for repair of the bone.
Advanced tendon grasping devices and devices for their application
Devices used to repair ruptured tendons are described, particularly a tendon grasping device and devices for the application thereof and to the uses if these devices; the tendon grasping device is made of a suitable for surgery bio-compatible material, a series of curved elements connected sequentially to form a hollow deformable structure; in use each curved element surrounds the tendon and the structure deforms between a radially extended condition and a radially retracted condition, in which each curved element firmly surrounds the tendon by applying pressure around the tendon without penetrating it.
Tenodesis anchoring systems and tools
Systems and tools are provided for anchoring a ligament or tendon to bone. In one embodiment, a sheath is provided having a first sidewall with proximal and distal ends and a second sidewall with proximal and distal ends. The distal ends of the first and second sidewalls can be coupled to one another by a hinge pin such that the first and second sidewalls pivot relative to one another about the hinge pin. A sheath inserter tool is also provided and it can be configured to couple to the sheath and to advance the expandable sheath, with a tendon disposed therearound, into a bone hole. An expander is also provided for expanding the sheath. In this way, a tendon or ligament is delivered into the bone hole and the sheath and tendon are locked within the bone hole.
CONNECTIVE TISSUE TO BONE INTERFACE SCAFFOLDS
Connective tissue-to-bone interface scaffolds (e.g., ligament-to-bone interface scaffolds, tendon-to-bone interface scaffolds, etc.). These scaffolds may be a single integrated implant or may be a modular (e.g., two-part) implant system.
Implantable system with elastic components
A system (100) for a controlled stressing of a reconstructed or re-natured ligament of a human or animal body comprises an anchoring element (10) for implantation in a first bone (50), at least one connecting element (120) and a holding element (30), which fixes the at least one connecting element (20) in a second bone. According to the invention, an elastomer element (125) is arranged in the anchoring element and/or in the connecting element (120) and provides a defined elastic action through the cooperation of elastomer element (125) with the connecting element (120).
Device, system, and method for delivery of a tissue fixation device
Systems and methods for fixating a graft in a bone tunnel are provided. In general, the system includes a tissue fixation device having a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration, at least one graft retention loop coupled to the tissue fixation device, and a drill pin having a sidewall surrounding a cavity at a proximal end of the pin and at least one longitudinally oriented opening in the sidewall in communication with the cavity, the cavity being configured to fully seat the tissue fixation device. The drill pin is configured to substantially contain therein the tissue fixation device when in the delivery configuration and to enable deployment of the tissue fixation device through the opening. Drill pins configured to contain a tissue fixation device are also provided.
