MOTION PRESERVING SYSTEM AND APPARATUS
20250114212 · 2025-04-10 ·

Systems, apparatuses and methods for preserving motion in an intervertebral disc. Modular disc implant segments can be constructed from a relatively rigid material with compressive spring lobes to act similar to an elastomer. The lobes may be configured to have a C-shaped outer wall and one or more spring arms, such as a leaf springs, to facilitate the modular disc implant segment's ability to compress, thereby enabling an entire intervertebral disc constructed from multiple modular disc implant segments to compress with the implant recipient's movement. The implant segments are sized to be inserted serially into a space defined by the annular fibrosus after removal of the nucleus pulposus with connections being made between adjacent segments in the space during the insertion process.

Expandable inter-vertebral cage and method of installing same

An inter-vertebral cage for use in repairing a damaged inter-vertebral disc includes a plurality of cage sections and a hinge element that connects adjacent ones of the cage sections together for relative movement. The hinge elements automatically urge the cage sections to move from an extended orientation to an installed orientation.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SURFACE STRUCTURE ON AN IMPLANT, AND SUCH AN IMPLANT
20170027668 · 2017-02-02 ·

A surface structure is produced on an outer surface of an implant or a fixture and forms a base structure in a range of implants related to different types and qualities of jaw bone. During production of the surface, parts of a turning tool are placed against the implant or against a blank which is intended to form the implant. The parts and/or the implant are assigned controls which give rise to mutual displacements between the parts and the implant so that the parts follow a substantially spiral trajectory along the outer surface. By means of said controls, a long wave pattern is formed with successive peaks and with through lying between these. In this connection, a through can be arranged adjacent to the outer parts of an existing thread. The controls are chosen so as to produce through depths in the range of 25 to 250 m, preferably 50 to 200 m. The invention also relates to an implant which bas the same character as the implant produced by the method.

Glenoid implant with synthetic labrum

A prosthetic glenoid component for replicating the behavior of a patient's natural glenoid includes a rim that replicates the patient's natural glenoid labrum.

Mesh spacer hybrid

A method of placing an implant for intervertebral fusion between adjacent vertebral bodies in a patient includes inserting the implant in a space between the adjacent vertebral bodies such that both a first intervertebral spacer body and a second intervertebral spacer body contact each of the adjacent vertebral bodies. The first intervertebral spacer body is spaced apart from the second intervertebral spacer body. An expandable container portion of the implant disposed between the first intervertebral spacer body and the second intervertebral spacer body is filled with fill material such that the expandable container expands to contact each of the adjacent vertebral bodies.

Implantable systems, devices and related methods

The present application is generally directed to implantable systems, devices and related methods pertaining to spinal surgery. In particular, the present application discloses a frame and spacer system for inserting into a disc space. The frame and spacer system is of low profile. The frame can receive different fixation devices, including threaded and non-threaded fixation devices.

Hip prosthesis containing zirconium-niobium alloy on oxidation layer and preparation method thereof

The present disclosure discloses the hip prosthesis containing zirconium-niobium alloy on oxidation layer and a preparation method thereof, the hip prosthesis comprises a femoral stem, a femoral head, liners and a shell; the shell and femoral stem are prepared by using zirconium-niobium alloy powder as a raw material, and performing Sinter-HIP, cryogenic cooling and surface oxidation; the prepared shell and femoral stem are provided with partitioned trabeculae and formed by 3D printing. The problem of traditional manufacturing methods cannot process complex structures and failure of connection between sleeve and femoral handle is solved by 3D printing technology. Meanwhile, the preparation method can improve the bonding strength between trabecular bone and solid, and improve the service life of prosthesis.

Devices and methods for altering spinal lateral curvature

Disclosed are systems, devices, methods and surgical procedures for altering and/or correcting the alignment of adjacent bones, including bones of the spine.
