The present invention relates to a partial joint replacement (1000), encompassing a shell-like segment (100) with a concave inner contour (3) for the arrangement on at the bone structure of a patient, wherein the segment (100) comprises a lateral section (5) and a medial section (7) along a longitudinal direction (x), and wherein the outer contour (1) of the segment (100) comprise in longitudinal direction (x) at least one inflection point (9).

ELBOW JOINT PROSTHESES

A radial head assembly is provided that includes a stem, a collar, a locking ring, and an articular member. The stem has a convex articular head on one end thereof. The locking ring has a ring wall, which has a ring opening. The ring wall has an angular outer surface and a slot configured to permit the ring wall to radially expand. The angular outer surface engages an angular portion of an interior surface of the collar. The articular member and the locking ring define an articular space within the collar. The articular space is configured to receive the convex articular head.

Anatomical radial head elbow prosthesis

There is disclosed herein radial head elbow prosthesis which is anatomically designed to improve anatomical conformity and function and reduce likelihood of dislocation. Depression centroid eccentricity and orientation and raised lateral bearing surface aspects of the present radial head improve tracking of the radial head prosthesis of the capitellum and reduce likelihood of dislocation thereof.

PROSTHESIS INCLUDING BALL AND SOCKET ARRANGEMENT

A two-piece socket for a ball-and-socket arrangement, including a base and a cap. The socket includes a leg on one of the cap or base of the socket and a receiving groove on the other of the cap or base of the socket, wherein there is at least one opening in the leg which lines up with a corresponding opening in the groove for a fastener to extend through these openings to releasably secure the cap to the base of the socket. The orientation of the fastener is such that the fastener is under shear loading when the cap is pulled apart from the base.

RADIAL HEAD IMPLANT

A radial head prosthesis for implantation in a distal radius. The implant includes a head portion and a stem portion. The stem portion has a cylindrical shaft and tapered tip. The head portion includes a recess for engagement with the stem portion. The head portion includes a first bearing surface for articulation with a humerus, and a second bearing surface for articulation with an ulna. The second bearing surface includes at least one concave and one convex portion immediately adjacent one another.

Prosthesis for partial and total joint replacement

A prosthetic joint is secured to the bones forming the original joint by utilizing strictly mechanical fasteners, for example, a threaded rod engaging a tapped intramedullary canal. Cross locking members may be provided. The need for bone cement is avoided. The prosthetic joint may be used to replace one end of one bone forming the joint, utilizing the naturally occurring end of the other bone. Alternatively, both bone ends may be replaced with prosthetic joint portions. The decision to replace one or both bone ends may be made mid-surgery. The prosthetic joint portions are secured together utilizing ligament reconstruction members made from portions of the patient's tendons or allograft tendons. A bearing forming the interface between the two joint portions is designed to wear in order to protect the remaining components from wear, and to be easily replaced in relatively simple future surgeries.

Elbow prosthesis

An elbow prosthesis includes a stem structure and an articulating component. The stem structure is operable to be positioned in a bone of a joint and includes a stem portion and a C-shaped body portion. The stem portion is operable to be positioned in the bone. The C-shaped body portion includes a first articulating surface bound by a medial wall and a lateral wall. The medial and lateral walls are separated by a first distance. The articulating component includes a second articulating surface positioned between a medial side surface and a lateral side surface. The medial and lateral side surfaces are separated by a second distance that is less than the first distance. The second articulating surface is configured to slidably communicate in a medial/lateral direction along the first articulating surface of the C-shaped body portion.
