Movable joint for use in a prosthetic or orthopedic system
A movable joint for use in a prosthetic or orthopedic system includes first and second joint sections arranged to rotate relative to one another. At least one shaft member is attached to and arranged to rotate relative to the first or second joint sections. A translating member is attached to the at least one shaft member. Translation of the translating member along a length of the at least one shaft member drives rotation of at least the first joint section and the second joint section.
VARIABLE COMPRESSION BODY ANCHOR
In some embodiments, a body anchor for supporting an assistive device can include: a cuff to exert a compression force on a body part of a user; and one or more tensile elements having first ends and second ends. The first ends of the tensile elements can be configured to be attached to the assistive device. The second ends of the tensile elements can be arranged about the cuff to cause the compression force to vary in proportion to a load exerted by the assistive device.
DEVICE FOR REHABILITATION OF CHILDREN WITH CHILDHOOD CEREBRAL PALSY (CCP)
The device for rehabilitation of children with childhood cerebral palsy (CCP) comprises a sleeve/tube (1) made of an elastic material and cuffs made of Velcro strips (2). A frequently occurring problem during rehabilitation of children suffering from CCP is their wrong posture while sitting on the floor. The patients find this position is very comfortable since it provides good stability. However, this results in both wrong position of joints and wrong muscle function being developed, in particular body movement and balance are maintained by means of support on the inside on the foot with the knee being turned inwards. An inverted “knee inward” leg position becomes fixated. The feet become twisted with the big toes pointing outwards, which enhances undesirable changes in the function of the knee and hip joints. The above-mentioned factors reduce the effectiveness of rehabilitation carried out by traditional methods. The proposed device for rehabilitation of children with CCP makes it possible to rectify the aforementioned disadvantages without significantly restricting the patients' mobility. The device is fitted onto the feet of the patient and fixed at the ankles by the cuffs made of Velcro strips (2). The device fixed in this manner on the feet of the patient can stretch with movement. The effect of the device is observed already after a few first months of the use thereof.
STABILIZING ROD FOR AN ORTHOPAEDIC AID
The invention relates to a stabilizing rod (99, 101) for an orthopedic aid, the stabilizing rod (99, 101) having a bending section (130) in the longitudinal direction, the bending section (130) having at least one mesh belt structure (131).
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SECURING THE SAME
An orthopedic device has various frame elements concealed by a sleeve defining pockets into which such frame elements are located. The orthopedic device includes a strap tightening assembly adapted to secure a plurality of straps simultaneously. The frame may include flexible edge features located along a periphery thereof.
System of a Wearable Laser Device and an AI or ML Based Platform with Smart Virtual Assistant for Monitoring and Treatment of Pain including Peripheral Neuropathy
A system of a wearable laser device and an AI or ML based Platform with “smart virtual assistant” is provided for monitoring and treatment of pain including from Peripheral Neuropathy. The system is made of a plurality of wearable devices with an embedded laser diodes of a low frequency/intensity for treatment of pain and electronic unit within each of the plurality of wearable device. The electronic unit includes a plurality of various sensors to monitor blood glucose level, flexibility of movement and other vital body data of the user, a control unit, and a communication unit to transmit and store the sensory data over the central cloud server. The system further includes a computer implemented platform with an AI powered smart virtual assistant that processes sensory data in real time and notifies the user, personal physician and all the persons of concern, if any medical emergency arises.
Fastening strip for knee bandage
A fastening strip for knee bandage includes a holding part at a first end; an insertion part at a second end; and a flexible tape section having a first end formed with the holding part and a second end formed with the insertion part. The flexible tape section has two symmetric, wavy sides. The holding part is cross-shaped. The insertion part is flat and shaped as a triangle.
Compression device
Disclosed is a compression device for applying compression to a body part of a user. The compression devices comprises a sleeve for substantially covering a portion of the body part of a user, wherein the sleeve has an outer surface, an inner surface, an upper edge, a lower edge and two lateral side edges. In the transverse direction from the first lateral side edge to the second lateral side edge the sleeve comprises a first lateral side region, a central region and a second lateral side region. At least the central region of the sleeve comprises a main material having elasticity in at least the transverse direction of the sleeve. A maximum elongation in the transverse direction is from 5% up to and including 30% under a load of 10 N per cm width and a difference quotient of tension in transverse direction from 20% elongation to 25% elongation equal to or greater that 0.6 N per cm width per percent elongation. The device further comprising a releasable closure system configured and arranged relative to the sleeve, such that, in use, upon closure of the closure system the sleeve is restrained and tightened about the body part of the user.
JOINT STABILIZATION DEVICE, PARTICULARLY FOR THE PATELLOFEMORAL JOINT
A joint stabilization device including at least support means positionable at the patellar portion of a leg of a patient; a sustaining element of elongated shape, having a first extremity and a second extremity opposite to each other, associated with the support means and positionable laterally to the patella of the patient; a first traction element and a second traction element associated with the first extremity and with the second extremity, respectively; and a first directing element and a second directing element which are associated with the sustaining element and interposed between the first extremity and the first traction element and between the second extremity and the second traction element respectively, wherein the first traction element and the second traction element are adapted to position the sustaining element in a predefined position, the first directing element and the second directing element being adjustable depending on the predefined position.
