Protective sleeve and treatment method thereof
A protective sleeve for treating injury to a wearer's elbow joint comprises a central pad; a protective opening one wearer's medial elbow region, a cap attached on the exterior side of the central pad; a relatively thin sheet; a cylindrical sleeve formed by the relatively thin sheet and the central pad; a first compression strip attached on the interior side within the upper portion of the central pad; a second compression strip attached on the interior side within the lower portion of the central pad; and a fastening means for securing the protective sleeve on the wearer's arm; and a treatment method thereof.
A COMPRESSION GARMENT
A compression garment for a limb is disclosed. The garment can include a body portion and a spine portion. Each of the body and spine portions can have a plurality of bands (e.g. bands for adjusting tension of the garment). The spine portion can be releasably attached onto the body portion such that the spine portion is positionable at different locations on the body portion to adjust a width of the garment. The bands of the body portion and/or of the spine portion can be trimmable and include a detachable fastener, whereby as a result the band can be caused to move to a plurality of different positions to adjust the garment to a plurality of different sized limbs (e.g. different sized feet).
EXTERNAL ANKLE BRACE
An external ankle brace is disposed on the exterior of a shoe having a heel portion, a toe portion, a sole, and oppositely disposed sides. The external ankle brace comprises a rigid heel enclosure having a rear portion, configured to receive the heel of the shoe, and a forward portion having a medial sidewall and a lateral sidewall for collectively and concurrently at least partially encircling the sides of the shoe. A lateral upright extension is present. A medial upright extension is present. A lower fastening system comprises at least one lower adjustable connecting strap for extending underneath the sole of the shoe. An upper fastening system comprises at least one upper connecting strap for selectively connecting the lateral sidewall to the medial sidewall across the top of the shoe.
GARMENT FOR STABILIZING A HUMAN ANATOMICAL JOINT
The present invention involves a garment for enveloping at least in part a joint, for example a knee of a leg. Comprising a belt disposed to fit about a body part, for example the waist, of the user, a plurality of inextensible web portions and a tension member are disposed longitudinally along a corresponding predetermined curved three-dimensional spatial path within or on a matrix of a garment fabric along the leg. The path spatially relates the first tension member to at least one natural ligament of the knee, at least one of the plurality of inextensible web portions being disposed to apply pressure to the medial side of the knee. The tension member is anchored by the triceps surae of the leg and to the belt via a tensioner. A second tension member may be incorporated in the garment leg to apply pressure to the lateral side of the knee.
DEVICE FOR MANAGING PATELLOFEMORAL PAIN AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A device for managing patellofemoral pain includes a wearable anchor structure configured to be positioned adjacent to the knee joint of a user. A spring mechanism is attachable, during use, to the anchor structure at first and second attachment positions located laterally and medially of the knee joint, respectively. An attachment component is coupled to the spring mechanism and has an attachment surface configured to be removably attached, during use, to the skin over the patella of the user such that the spring mechanism applies a tension force on the attachment component in an anterior direction. Methods for managing patellofemoral pain and realigning the patella and a patellofemoral pain management kit are also disclosed.
Knee brace with adjustable strut length and dynamic strut lengthening
A knee brace incorporates an upper attachment assembly having an upper cuff with medial and lateral struts extending therefrom and a lower attachment assembly having a lower cuff with lower medial and lateral struts extending therefrom. The upper and lower medial struts are connected proximate a user's knee by a medial hinge assembly and the upper and lower lateral struts are connected proximate the user's knee by a lateral hinge assembly. At least one of the struts includes a mechanism dynamically extending the strut with respect to a rotation point of that strut in the associated hinge upon flexion of the upper and lower attachment assemblies between a flexed position and an extended position.
BRACE LIMITING RANGE OF MOTION AND METHOD OF USING SAME
A brace is provided including an upper support arm, a lower support arm, a hinge assembly configured to rotatably couple the upper support arm to the lower support arm, a plurality of cuffs, each coupled directly or indirectly to the upper support arm or the lower support arm and configured to receive a respective strap for securing the brace to an appendage of the subject, and a plurality of buckles, each configured to be coupled to a respective one of the plurality of cuffs and to receive one of the respective straps.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE
An orthopedic device has a rigid or semi-rigid frame element defining opposed first and second sides, and is adapted to extend about at least a portion of a limb. The device includes straps formed from a variety of segments having stretchable and substantially inelastic segments. The straps adjustably secure to the frame element, and stretch relative thereto. The device also includes a central strap pad arranged to connect two straps together such that a first strap of the two straps is movable relative to a second strap, and the first and second straps are maintained diagonal relative to one another.
Customizable knee brace intended for patients with osteoarthritis
A customizable knee brace for use in the treatment of osteoarthritis is provided. The customizable knee brace includes a lateral upright. The lateral upright includes at least a first semi-rigid support, a second semi-rigid support, and a hinge physically coupling the first semi-rigid support and the second semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes a thigh cuff constructed of formable material and coupled to the first semi-rigid support. The customizable knee brace further includes a shin cuff constructed of formable material and coupled to the second semi-rigid support.
