ABSORBENT ARTICLE HAVING FINGER TABS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A method of manufacturing an absorbent article includes feeding a first web of material in a machine direction, feeding a second web of material in the machine direction, the second web being spaced from the first web by a gap, attaching an absorbent assembly to the first web and the second web such that the absorbent assembly spans the gap between the first and second webs, forming a partial cut line through the second web, folding the first web into face-to-face relationship with the second web after forming the partial cut line, and cutting the first and second webs after folding the first web into face-to-face relationship with the second web to separate the absorbent article from the first and second webs. The partial cut line defines at least one finger tab on the absorbent article.
REVERSIBLE AND CONFIGURABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLES
The present disclosure is directed, in part, to an absorbent article comprising a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned at least partially intermediate the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent article comprises a central lateral axis, a central longitudinal axis, a first waist edge comprising a first curvilinear portion, a second waist edge comprising a second curvilinear portion, a first side edge comprising a third curvilinear portion, and a second side edge comprising a fourth curvilinear portion, and a core wrap. A masking material may be positioned at least partially intermediate the absorbent core and the backsheet. The chassis has an outer perimeter. About 50% to about 95% of the outer perimeter is curvilinear and about 5% to about 30% of the outer perimeter comprises linear portions.
METHOD OF AND APPARATUS FOR STABILIZING TUCKING-IN SIDE SEAMS OF ABSORBENT HYGIENE PANTS
The application relates to a method of and an apparatus for tucking a pair of opposing side seams (3, 4) into a body portion (2) of a hygiene pant (1), wherein the side seams (3, 4) are pushed between a front region (20) and a back region (21) of the body portion (2) a distance toward one another, and wherein the tucked side seams (3, 4) are connected in at least one connection region (7) with each other and/or to the body portion (2).
Fixed Flat Cloth Diaper
The diaper of the present invention is a fixed flat cloth diaper. The diaper is ‘fixed’, because an outer layer of the diaper resembles the final format of a flat, rectangular cloth diaper having been folded origami style into a shape suitable for donning on a wearer by a user. The outer layer functions primarily to retain the diaper upon the wearer and has a stomach panel for obtaining a good closure of the diaper on the wearer. The diaper is ‘flat’, because an inner layer of the diaper is attached to the outer layer, and the inner layer is a flat, rectangular shape which is customizable for absorbency and can be folded into a flat insert configuration of the user's choice prior to donning the diaper on the wearer. The inner layer functions primarily to absorb waste (urine and feces) excreted by the wearer.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE HAVING STRETCHABLE PANELS AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
An absorbent article includes bond seams that are positioned forwardly towards the article central longitudinal direction from the lateral-most side edges of the article, and which are aligned with the highest point of high-rise leg openings on the article. The absorbent article is conformable on both front and back panels, with the front panel being narrower in dimension than the back panel. The bond seams and leg openings can be seen on the front surface of the relaxed and flattened absorbent article. Such absorbent article may be manufactured along the article transverse direction by use of differential tension during manufacture, or differential retractive properties of elastic base materials.
Length-to-hip and length-to-waist silhouettes of disposable absorbent articles and arrays
An absorbent article may have a Product Length-to-Hip Silhouette from about 0.5 to about 0.85 and a Product Length-to-Waist Silhouette from about 0.5 to about 0.9. An array of absorbent articles may have an Array Average Product Length-to-Waist Silhouette from about 0.5 to about 0.9.
Absorbent article and method and device for manufacturing absorbent article
An absorbent article includes: a first sheet-like member; a second sheet-like member; an elastic member that is inserted along a lateral direction between a pair of mutually-opposing facing surfaces of the first sheet-like member; joining portions that join the pair of mutually-opposing facing surfaces and that are spaced apart in the lateral direction; and side-seal sections that are disposed at each lateral end portion of the absorbent article. The joining portions are disposed on two sides of the elastic member in a vertical direction, which intersects the lateral direction and a front-rear direction, so that the elastic member is sandwiched and pressed between the joining portions.
Pull-on absorbent article including leg-circumference extension sections with welded regions
A pull-on absorbent article includes: an absorbent main body including an absorbent body along a vertical direction; and waist-circumference sections in a pair respectively located on one end side and another end side of the absorbent main body, the waist-circumference sections each including an elastic member stretchable in a lateral direction, the absorbent main body including extension sections in a pair respectively extending outward on two lateral sides of the absorbent body, the extension sections each having an elastic member stretchable in the vertical direction placed therein, the extension sections each forming a leg opening and including an overlap portion that overlaps in the vertical direction with at least one of the waist-circumference sections in a pair, the overlap portion having at least a part joined to the waist-circumference section, the overlap portion of the extension section having a welded region having a predetermined lateral length placed therein.
UNDERPANTS-TYPE DISPOSABLE WEARING ARTICLE
Underpants-type disposable wearing articles are provided wherein transverse tearing is hard to develop at a stacked sheet number change part in the outer member. This problem is solved by an underpants-type disposable wearing article, in which cuts 61 each extending longitudinally across a stacked sheet number change part 62 where the number of stacked sheets constituting the outer member 20 varies are formed adjacent on the central side in the width direction of a side seal 21 formed by joining the front and body sections together along the opposed lateral portions, and which is free of a perforated line formed from the waist opening toward the leg opening.
Absorbent article and method and device for manufacturing absorbent article
An absorbent article having a lateral direction, a vertical direction, and a front-rear direction that are orthogonal to each other is provided. The absorbent article includes: a first sheet-like member; a second sheet-like member; elastic members that are inserted along the lateral direction between a pair of mutually-opposing facing surfaces of the first sheet-like member and that are spaced apart in the vertical direction; joining portions that join the pair of mutually-opposing facing surfaces and that are spaced part in the lateral direction and in the vertical direction; and side-seal sections disposed at each lateral end portion of the absorbent article. The joining portions are formed on two sides of the elastic members in the vertical direction so that the elastic members are sandwiched and pressed between the joining portions on the two sides.
