The present invention relates to the field of hygiene appliances, in particular to a means for reducing soiling of the skin of a wearer upon defecation. In particular, it relates to a hygiene article comprising a skin protection sheet that comprises a discontinuity as a faeces passageway, such as an opening or a slit. In use, the sheet and the discontinuity are urged towards the anus by a pull means and spread open by a spreading means, such that faeces can pass through the discontinuity but are separated from the skin of the wearer elsewhere.

Nonwoven webs with hydrophobic and hydrophilic layers

A nonwoven web for use in an absorbent article is described. The nonwoven web has first and second nonwoven layers. The first nonwoven layer has a first plurality of fibers, an additive disposed, at least in part, on a portion of the first plurality of fibers, a first side and an opposing second side, wherein second side has a plurality of discontinuities. The second nonwoven layer has a second plurality of fibers, a first surface and an opposing second surface, and a plurality of tufts extending through at least a portion of the discontinuities in the first nonwoven layer, wherein the second nonwoven layer is attached to the first nonwoven layer such that at least a portion of the second plurality of fibers are in liquid communication with the first nonwoven layer, wherein the first nonwoven layer is hydrophobic and the second nonwoven layer is hydrophilic.

ELASTOMERIC LAMINATE WITH SOFT NONCRIMPED SPUNBOND FIBER WEBS

Disclosed is an absorbent article including a projecting-and-depressed sheet (10) as a constituent member, the absorbent article having a longitudinal direction and a width direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction. The projecting-and-depressed sheet (10) has a plurality of depressions (3) and projections (4) on a skin-facing surface to be brought into contact with the wearer's skin. In a given direction, a movable range of an apex (40a) of the projection (4) of the projecting-and-depressed sheet (10) is 30% or greater to the length (L2) of a bottom portion of the projection (4). On the skin-facing surface of the projecting-and-depressed sheet (10), the mean friction coefficient MIU in the longitudinal direction (X) is 0.3 or less, and a difference in friction coefficient between a forward path and a return path when moved back and forth along the longitudinal direction (X) is less than 0.1. The projecting-and-depressed sheet (10) has a work of compression of 2.0 mN.Math.cm/cm.sup.2 or greater and a compression recovery rate of 40% or greater.
