Indirect printing of AGM
The present invention relates to a method of applying absorbent gelling material (AGM) granules by indirect printing onto an carrier layer for use in an absorbent article, particularly diaper for babies or adults, training pants, pull-up diapers (diaper pants), sanitary napkins, panty liners or the like. These articles typically comprise the carrier layer with the AGM particles together with further layers, making up the complete article.
Absorbent cores comprising a superabsorbent polymer immobilizing material
Described herein is an absorbent article having an absorbent core. The absorbent core includes a superabsorbent polymer material and a superabsorbent polymer immobilizing material. The superabsorbent polymer immobilizing material includes from about 20% to about 70% of a first polymer and from about 30% to about 80% of a second polymer. The superabsorbent polymer immobilizing material has a Shear Viscosity at 10 (1/s) at 230° C. of from about 300 mPa.Math.s to about 10,000 mPa.Math.s.
Absorbent article with strong and weak bonded portions
An absorbent article includes an absorber including cells, each of which is surrounded by bonded portions of a front surface side sheet and a back surface side sheet and in each of which the front surface side sheet and the back surface side seat are not bonded, and including superabsorbent polymer particles contained in each of the cells. The bonded portions are arranged in dotted line shapes according to a pattern in which same-sized octagonal portions having all interior angles of 135°, and having two pairs of opposite sides whose facing directions are mutually orthogonal are equal in length, and diamond-shaped portions each having equal length of all sides and being formed in portions among the octagonal portions, are arranged without any space in the front-back direction (LD) or the width direction (WD).
Absorbent article with dual core
The absorbent article includes a topsheet having a body contacting surface, a backsheet joined to said topsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, wherein the absorbent core has a first absorbent core having a first area and a second area, wherein the first absorbent core and the second absorbent core are vertically arranged, wherein the second absorbent core at least partially covers the second area of the first absorbent core, and wherein the first absorbent core and the second absorbent core have different compositions.
Thin and dry diaper
An absorbent article, preferably a disposable absorbent article such as a diaper, is disclosed having an absorbent core which imparts increased wearing comfort to the article and makes it thin and dry. The absorbent core useful for an absorbent article comprises a substrate layer, a discontinuous layer of absorbent material, and a layer of thermoplastic material. A second surface of the discontinuous layer of absorbent material is in at least partial contact with a first surface of the substrate layer. Portions of a second surface of the layer of thermoplastic material are in direct contact with the first surface of the substrate layer and portions of said second surface of the layer of thermoplastic material are in direct contact with a first surface of the discontinuous layer of absorbent material. A process for providing a storage layer for an absorbent core useful in an absorbent article is further disclosed.
Absorbent article and method for manufacturing an absorbent article
An absorbent article comprises an absorbent core sandwiched between a liquid-permeable topsheet and a liquid-impermeable backsheet, wherein the absorbent core includes an absorbent component enclosed by a core cover including an upper side and a lower side, each side having a body facing surface and a garment facing surface, and a sealing arrangement for joining the upper and lower sides and including two channel sealings in the crotch portion defining a first channel sealing width and a second channel sealing width. The channel sealings are formed by an ultrasonic welding pattern including a plurality of welding spots and the garment facing surface of the upper core cover side and the body facing surface of the lower core cover side are coated with adhesive, provided that the areas of the channel sealings are free from adhesive.
Ultra thin laminate with particulates in dense packages
The present invention is directed to a method of forming a laminate absorbent structure, and a resulting package containing a single continuous running web of the laminate material. Notably, formation of the material is effected by blending a curtain of adhesive fibers with a curtain of particulate material, and depositing the mixture on a moving substrate, preferably provided in the form of a tissue layer. A second substrate, also preferably comprising a tissue layer, is applied on top of the deposited mixture, and pressure applied to form the laminated structure. Notably, attendant to packaging of the laminated material, adjacent layers of the material tend to nest into one another, to form a sandwich in which the density of the material in the package is more than 1.5 times the density of the material after its removal from the package.
Absorbent article with leg cuffs
A disposable absorbent article may include a chassis that includes a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a leg gasketing system. The leg gasketing system may include an inner cuff and an outer cuff; the inner cuff may include an inner cuff folded edge and an inner cuff material edge and the outer cuff may include an outer cuff folded edge and an outer cuff material edge such that the web of material is folded laterally inward to form the outer cuff folded edge and folded laterally outward to form the inner cuff folded edge. The leg gasketing system may also include a leg gasketing system pocket with an opening on an inboard longitudinal edge of the pocket.
Method of making an absorbent composite
Disclosed is an absorbent core composite for a disposable absorbent article. The absorbent composite has a first fabric, a body side second fabric, and a plurality of aggregates of superabsorbent particles (SAP) situated between the first fabric second fabric. About each of a plurality of the SAP aggregates, an arrangement of spaced apart bond sites secure the second fabric to the first fabric and form a pocket in which the SAP aggregate is secured between the first fabric and the second fabric. The body side second fabric is a bulky nonwoven including fibers that entangle at least some particles in the SAP aggregate.
