An apparatus for a dual-use disposable sanitary garment according to various aspects of the present technology include an absorbent layer coupled to a wearable garment. The wearable garment is folded inward and sealed within a pouch portion adjacent to the absorbent layer. The wearable garment is enclosed within the pouch portion by a removable adhesive layer that is configured to either be kept in place allowing the entire garment to be used as a commonly known sanitary napkin or the adhesive can be removed thereby allowing the wearable garment to be unfolded and worn. The entire sanitary garment may then be disposed after use.

The invention is a sanitary kit for feminine hygiene components to be used and stored in a pack for use during the sudden onset of menstruation. At least two different types of disposable absorbent articles for absorbing liquids, particularly body fluids such as menses, and a plurality of cleansing components for cleansing the body, clothing, or surrounding area after the discharge of menstrual fluids, are contained within the package and hygiene kit. These items could consist of menstruation briefs or panties, tampons or sanitary napkins, moistened sanitary towelettes or wiping objects, a compressed washcloth, and a cleansing liquid contained in a bottle. The packaging allows for easy storage, being in the form of a pack containing the items, with each unit or component sealed, packaged and identified. The preferred embodiment of the pack will take the form of a pouch with an opening and closure mechanism from which the items can be easily accessed or stored.

The package includes a plurality of panels, including a consumer-facing panel; a plurality of seals included by at least a portion of the plurality of panels. Each of the plurality of seals has adhesive disposed in a seal area. One or more of the plurality of seals has an adhesive area which is greater than its corresponding seal area. The package material has natural fibers and a basis weight of between 50 gsm to 120 gsm, as determined via ISO 536 as modified herein. And, the package material is recyclable.

A time delay reduces the likelihood of or prevents someone from continuously activating the motion sensor to dispense all of the products in the machine.

The absorbent structure is attached directly to the garment-facing surface. The absorbent article is configurable between a packaged configuration and a use configuration. The absorbent structure is folded longitudinally about at least one transverse fold line and transversely about at least one longitudinal fold line in the packaged configuration. A portion of the shell overlies a portion of the absorbent structure in the packaged configuration.
