SKIN CARE COMPOSITONS COMPRISING SYNERGISTIC BLEND OF SACRED LOTUS AND TEA PLANT OR SACRED LOTUS AND GERMAN CHAMOMILE AND COSMETIC APPLICATIONS THEREOF
The present invention is related to a skin care composition comprising (1) a physiologically acceptable medium and (2) a synergistic composition consisting of: a blend of a Nelumbo nucifera (Sacred Lotus) serum fraction and a Camellia sinensis (Tea) serum fraction in a respective weight ratio of 75:25; or a blend of a Nelumbo nucifera (Sacred Lotus) serum fraction and a Chamomilla recutita (German chamomile) serum fraction in a respective weight ratio of 75:25. The invention also relates to a method for improving skin appearance associated with skin aging comprising applying compositions thereof.
Self-Neutralizing Amino Acid Based Cationic Compositions
The invention described herein includes a self-neutralizing amino acid-based cationic composition that contains an amino acid-based cationic ester, a nonionic amphiphile, and an anhydrous buffering agent. In an embodiment, the composition, when dispersed or dissolved in an aqueous solvent, provides a resultant solution/dispersion having a pH of greater than about 4. The amino acid-based cationic ester may be a reaction product of (i) an amino acid having a non-polar side chain, and an amine group that has been neutralized with an acid; with (ii) a long chain fatty alcohol. Also included within the scope of the invention are methods of preparing a self-neutralizing amino acid-based cationic composition, such method including combining an amino acid-based cationic ester, a nonionic amphiphile and an anhydrous buffering agent. The resulting composition is in an anhydrous solid form. Formulations containing the amino acid-based cationic ester and/or a composition that includes it, are also disclosed.
COSMETIC COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT AMORPHOUS GRADE POLYLACTIC ACID RESIN
Cosmetic compositions contain certain polylactic acid resins as film-formers. The polylactic acid resin is effective at low levels in the composition and is compatible with many organic ingredients commonly used in cosmetic compositions. The cosmetic composition can be formulated as a spray, a lotion, a cream or a paste.
METAL OXIDE SUNSCREEN FORMULATIONS
Provided herein are sunscreen formulations containing a metal oxide sunscreen, squalane, and an antioxidant. The sunscreen formulations provided have increased SPF per unit mass of the metal oxide compared to sunscreen formulations that contain metal oxide without the addition of squalane and antioxidant. Also provided are methods of preventing UV damages to skin involving the application of the sunscreen formulation.
Topical lotion having sanitizing properties
An alcohol-free lotion for the topical application having sanitizing properties is made by combining an aqueous phase comprising water, a water soluble preservative, an antimicrobial active, and at least one humectant with an oil phase, wherein the at least one humectant is present in the aqueous phase in the range of from 5 to 30 wt. %, wherein the oil phase comprises an oil soluble preservative, at least one surfactant, and at least one oil, wherein the surfactant is present in the oil phase in the range of from about 20 to 60 wt. %, and wherein the aqueous phase to oil phase ratio is from about 12:1 to 1:2.
RETINAL-CONTAINING MULTILAMELLAR VESICLE AND COSMETIC COMPOSITION COMPRISING SAME
The present invention relates to a retinal-containing multilamellar vesicle and, more specifically, to a retinal-containing multilamellar vesicle comprising 0.01-5% by weight of retinal, 0.1-10% by weight of rapeseed sterol, 0.1-10% by weight of phytosteryl/behenyl/octyldodecyl lauroyl glutamate, 0.1-8% by weight of polyglyceryl-10 oleate, 0.1-10% by weight of cholesterol, 0.01-5% by weight of hydrogenated lecithin, 0.01-5% by weight of ceramide, 1-15% by weight of squalane, 0.1-10% by weight of vegetable butter, 3-30% by weight of oily liquid, 1-20% by weight of glycerin, and 30-70% by weight of water, and to a cosmetic composition comprising same.
Topical skin care formulations comprising plant extracts
A method for treating skin of a person is disclosed. The method can include topically applying to the skin of the person a composition comprising an effective amount of an aqueous, alcoholic, or aqueous-alcoholic extract from Vinca major, wherein the composition reduces melanin production in the skin, increases antioxidant activity in the skin, and/or increases skin moisture content.
Oil-in-water emulsion comprising a specific surfactant system
The invention relates to a cosmetic composition in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion comprising: (i) at least one lipophilic surfactant with HLB less than or equal to 9, and (ii) at least one specific anionic surfactant comprising at least one sulfate and/or sulfonate function; said composition comprising from 0% to 8% by weight of additional surfactant(s) relative to the total weight of the composition. It also relates to the associated cosmetic process.
Non-soap liquid cleanser composition comprising caprylic acid
This invention relates to syndet-based compositions having pH of 4.5 to 5.5 wherein use of caprylic acid has been unexpectedly found to enhance bacterial kill.
Whitening system
An oral care kit comprising an oral care implement having a first reservoir containing a first oral care agent comprising a first whitening reagent that includes triacetin; and a container having a second reservoir containing a second oral care agent, the second oral care agent comprising a catalytic enzyme and a second whitening reagent that includes peroxide forming compound.
