NOVEL PHOTOPROTECTIVE SYSTEM
The present invention concerns a topical, cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparation containing a combination of 3 or 4 solar filters comprising: one or two UVA filters to obtain a critical wavelength >370 nm, chosen from among: i. 5,6,5,6-tetraphenyl-3,3-(1,4-phenylene)-bis[1,2,4]triazine, ii. 1,1-(1,4-piperazinediyl)bis[1-[2-[4-(diethylamino)-2-hydroxybenzoyl]phenyl]-methanone iii. Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (BMDBM), in a quantity less than 2% by weight with regard to the total weight of said composition, iv. Hexyl 2-[4-(diethylamino)-2-hydroxybenzoyl]benzoate, 2,4-Bis[4-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-2-hydroxyphenyl]-6-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3,5-triazine=(BEMT), one or two filters chosen from among UVB filters, except octocrylene, PABA and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate,
said composition also containing a pharmaceutically or cosmetically acceptable excipient.
SUNSCREEN COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING AN ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION-ABSORBING POLYMER
Compositions including a discontinuous oil phase homogeneously dispersed in a continuous water phase, the oil phase containing a sunscreen agent that includes a polymer composition containing a linear, ultraviolet radiation absorbing polyether, the linear, ultraviolet radiation absorbing polyether including a chemically bound UV-chromophore; and an oil-in water emulsifier component including an anionic oil-in-water emulsifier in an amount such that the composition includes about 0.5 percent by weight to about 3 percent by weight of the anionic oil-in-water emulsifier.
ANTIPERSPIRANT AND DEODORANT COMPOSITIONS
The present application relates to antiperspirant compositions comprising nitrogen-based and/or oxygen based perfume raw materials, and methods for making and using the antiperspirant compositions.
SUNSCREEN COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING AN ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION-ABSORBING POLYMER
Compositions including a discontinuous oil phase homogeneously dispersed in a continuous water phase, the oil phase including a sunscreen agent that includes a linear, ultraviolet radiation absorbing polyether that comprises a chemically bound UV-chromophore; and an oil-in water emulsifier component including an anionic oil-in-water emulsifier and a nonionic oil-in-water emulsifier having an alcohol functional group, wherein the weight ratio of the anionic oil-in-water emulsifier to the nonionic oil-in-water emulsifier is about 12 or less and wherein the linear, ultraviolet radiation absorbing polyether is present in an amount effective to provide the composition with an SPF of about 10 or greater.
Cosmetic composition comprising a bitter compound, a fragrance, an extract of Stevia and a salt
The subject of the invention is the use of an extract of Stevia in combination with a salt, for masking the bitterness of bitter compounds in cosmetic or dermatological compositions. This mixture of sweetener with a second gustatory agent makes it possible to mask the bitterness of the compound permanently without changing the nature of the fragrance or the colour of the composition.
FRAGRANCE MATERIALS
The present application relates to perfume raw materials, perfumes, perfume delivery systems and consumer products comprising such perfume raw materials, perfumes and/or such perfume delivery systems, as well as processes for making and using such perfume raw materials, perfume delivery systems and consumer products. The perfumes disclosed herein expand the perfume communities' options.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING DISEASES OF THE NAIL
Methods and compositions for treating disorders of the nail and nail bed. Such compositions contain a vehicle in which all components of the composition are dissolved, suspended, dispersed, or emulsified, a non-volatile solvent, a wetting agent, and a pharmaceutically active ingredient that is soluble in the non-volatile solvent and/or a mixture of the vehicle and the non-volatile solvent, and which composition is effective in treating a disorder of the nail or nail bed.
COSMETIC KIT FOR PROTECTING THE SKIN AGAINST UV RAYS
The present invention relates to a method for protecting the skin against UV rays, using two cosmetic compositions for protecting against UV rays, the sun protection indices of which are different from each other, this method consisting in applying to the skin, before or during exposure to sunlight, a first composition having a certain sun protection index, and then in applying, during exposure to sunlight, onto the residual deposit of the first composition, the second cosmetic composition having a sun protection index lower than that of the first composition.
This method advantageously makes it possible to not reapply the first composition, but to use a second product that is much more pleasant to use, while at the same time obtaining the level of protection afforded by the deposit of the initial first composition.
The invention also relates to a sun protection kit comprising a first composition for protecting against UV rays having a sun protection index of greater than or equal to 30, and at least a second cosmetic composition for protecting against UV rays, having a sun protection index of less than or equal to 20, the two compositions being packaged separately.
COMPUTER-BASED METHOD FOR DETERMINING A SUNSCREEN COMPOSITION COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF UV FILTER SUBSTANCES
A computer-based method for determining a sunscreen composition comprising a plurality of UV filter substances, comprises the steps of selecting at least one constraint for at least one characteristic of the composition to be determined (step 30), the at least one constraint comprising a sunscreen performance target; selecting an optimization objective from a plurality of optimization objectives (step 50); and automatically determining the sunscreen composition as a composition of filter substances from a set of filter substances (step 100), the composition meeting the at least one constraint and being optimized with respect to the selected optimization objective. The automatic determination comprises the steps of generating a plurality of candidate compositions, determining a sunscreen performance of the candidate compositions using a performance simulation tool and comparing the determined sunscreen performance of the candidate compositions with the sunscreen performance target. The method allows for an automatic determination of an optimum sunscreen composition based on constraints and objectives, thus avoiding manual trial and error methods that are lengthy and do not always lead to the optimal result.
