A protective arrangement for protection during the treatment of hair includes a strip placed around the neck and throat region of a person. The strip includes a support coated with adhesive on both sides. One side of the support is coated with a first adhesive that sticks to all types of textile fibre and arranged to be attached at the inner surface of a collar or similar feature, and the second side of the support is coated with a second adhesive the task of which is to be attached at the neck and throat region of the person such that the protective arrangement can prevent falling hairs or running hair dye from coming into contact with the collar or lining of the item of clothing, and that the protective arrangement is arranged to be folded over the collar or similar feature of the item of clothing.

An adjustable fitted neck and shoulder towel (AFNST) that is placed and secured around a person's neck and over the person's shoulders and upper torso. The AFNST is a sheet of single ply or multi ply fabric material with an outer surface, an inner surface, a right edge, a left edge, a lower edge, and an upper edge. Located on the upper edge of the sheet is a semi-circular neck cut-out. Once the AFNST is placed on a person, with the neck cut-out around the person's neck, securing means are utilized to attach two opposing sides of the cut-out. The securing means are preferably a single or dual string, used with or without eyelets.
