PLUNGER WITH REDUCED LEAKAGE DURING STORAGE
20170246394 · 2017-08-31 ·

A plunger seal for a drug delivery device may have a mobile and an enhanced sealing parked state. Optionally, the cartridge is stored with the plunger seal in the parked state. Optionally, drug discharge occurs with the plunger seal in the mobile state. For example in the parked state there may be increased normal force between the plunger seal and an inner wall of the cartridge. Optionally there is limited deformation of the plunger seal between the parked and mobile states. Optionally the plunger seal is biased to the parked state. Optionally, a distal force switches the plunger seal to the mobile state. For example, the plunger seal may have an inner cavity that is expanded radially by core. A biasing element optionally biases the core wedging it proximally to the parked state. A distal force on the core may push it distally to the mobile state.

Quick release plunger

The stopper includes a base and one or more capture members extending rearwardly from the base. The one or more capture members each include a beveled edge configured to interact with a piston of a fluid injection apparatus, wherein the one or more capture members are radially deflected upon rotation of the stopper relative to the piston to facilitate removal of the stopper from the piston. The stopper is configured for slidable movement within a body of a syringe and forms a fluid tight seal with an inner wall of the body of the syringe. Also disclosed is a plunger which includes the stopper.

The present disclosure is generally directed to a resettable drug delivery device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament. The drug delivery device comprises a housing, a cartridge holder, releasably attached to the distal end of the housing, a piston rod, engaging a housing insert and a drive member, a dose setting member, guided within the housing to allow rotation of the dose setting member during dose setting and dose dispensing, and a clutch for rotationally coupling the drive member and the dose setting member. The housing insert is rotationally constrained to the housing and is axially movable together with the drive member relative to the housing between a dose setting and dispensing position, and a resetting position. In the dose resetting position. the drive member is rotationally de-coupled from the housing.

AUTOMATIC INJECTION DEVICE HAVING A MAGNETIC DRIVE SYSTEM

An automatic injection device has an insertion needle configured to be inserted into a patient and a drug container which contains a pharmaceutical product. The drug container includes a plunger. The automatic injection device also has a fluid path which fluidly connects the drug container to the insertion needle. The automatic injection device further has a drive system configured to cause linear movement of the plunger to force the pharmaceutical product into the fluid path. The drive system has a driving element and a movable element. The automatic injection device additionally has electronics configured to provide a signal to the drive system to move the plunger. The movable element has an outer magnet at least partially surrounding the drug container and an inner magnet inside the drug container.

Stopper arrangement for a drug delivery device

The invention relates to a stopper arrangement for a drug delivery device, comprising a stopper, a linear actor coupled with one end to the stopper and with an opposite end to a coupling arrangement, wherein the stopper arrangement is configured to be disposed within a container of a drug delivery device, wherein a shape and/or material of the stopper and the coupling arrangement are configured such that a first frictional force between the coupling arrangement and the container is lower than a frictional force between the stopper and the container when the linear actor is contracting and that second frictional force between the coupling arrangement and the container is greater than the frictional force between the stopper and the container when the linear actor is expanding.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH PLUNGER ROD HAVING NONUNIFORM STOPPER INTERFACE

The present invention provides a drug delivery device (1) comprising: a drug reservoir (20) comprising a reservoir body (21) extending along a reference axis and an elastomeric stopper (30) arranged in the reservoir body (21), the elastomeric stopper (30) comprising a stopper body (31) extending between a front stopper end (32) and a rear stopper end (34) and having a plurality of axially spaced apart circumferential ribs (33) for sealing interaction with an interior wall (22) of the reservoir body (21), and a plunger rod structure (10) for displacing the elastomeric stopper (30) relative to the interior wall (22), the plunger rod structure (10) extending along the reference axis and comprising a distal end face (12, 14) adapted to interface with the rear stopper end (34). The distal end face (12, 14) comprises a first force transferring portion (14) and a second force transferring portion (12), the first force transferring portion (14) axially leading the second force transferring portion (12) and being adapted to interact with a peripheral portion of the rear stopper end (34).

Infusion pump assembly

An infusion pump assembly includes a locking tab and a pump barrel inside a pump barrel housing, where the pump barrel accommodates a reservoir assembly. The reservoir assembly includes a reservoir and a plunger rod. The infusion pump assembly also includes a locking disc at a terminus of the pump barrel. The locking disc includes a clearance hole for the plunger rod. The locking disc also includes at least one locking tab notch in close proximity with the locking tab. The locking tab is in moveable engagement with the locking tab notch, and the reservoir moves the locking tab from a locked position to an unlocked position when the plunger rod is inserted through clearance hole. The locking disc rotates upon torque being applied to the reservoir assembly, the locking disc rotating from a non-loaded position to a loaded position with respect to the plunger rod and a drive screw.
