Medical device for fluid delivery having reduced dead space
Disclosed herein is a pharmaceutical syringe having a cylindrical bore with a proximal opening, the syringe comprising a distal wall of the bore defining an outlet biased from the central axis of the syringe, and toward a first area of the distal wall and biased from the central axis away from a second area distinct from the first area; the syringe comprising a plunger seal having a distal surface; wherein when the plunger seal is fitted into the bore with the distal surface facing an inner surface of the distal wall of the bore, the second area of the inner surface is axially closer to the distal surface of the plunger seal than the first area, in a direction parallel to the central axis of the cylindrical bore, such that fluid is expelled from the second area and towards the outlet.
Ultra-low waste needle and syringe system that automatically and passively renders a needle safe during the injection process
A needle and syringe system that provides ultra-low dosage waste and automatic needlestick protection. A syringe assembly is provided that contains a barrel and a plunger. A tubular spacer is disposed in the barrel. A needle head assembly is provided that includes a collar and a needle. A safety slide is positioned between the needle and the collar. The safety slide has a sheathing tube that surrounds part of the needle. The safety slide can move relative the needle. In a first position, the sheathing tube does not extend beyond the sharpened end of the needle. In a second position, the sheathing tube extends beyond the sharpened end of the needle. When advanced, the plunger head moves the tubular spacer. The tubular spacer passes over the base of the needle and presses against the safety slide. The safety slide is moved from the first position to the second position.
Syringe plunger, bung and syringe
A syringe plunger, bung and/or syringe is disclosed. The syringe plunger includes an elongate shaft for insertion into a barrel of a syringe, wherein an end of the shaft is configured for slidable engagement within a recess in a bung of the syringe such that the end of the shaft abuts a surface of the recess, and wherein the end of the shaft is further configured such that, after engagement between the end of the shaft and the recess, a relative force therebetween longitudinally deforms the bung.
Safe syringe
A safe syringe includes a barrel, a needle seat and a plunger, wherein the needle seat has a hook rod, a linkage deformation portion and a barrel clamping portion; and the plunger has a rod body, and a hook insertion hole which can be sleeved with the hook rod of the needle seat and compress the linkage deformation portion for elastic deformation such that the barrel clamping portion of the needle seat is not clamped into the seat clamping slot of the barrel, and the hook insertion hole can hook the hook rod of the needle seat to move the needle seat. The safe syringe can allow stable positioning and quick pullback of the needle seat and effectively reduce liquid medicine residue.
SAFETY SYRINGE
A safety syringe having a casing with the distal end of the casing divided by one or more slots into a plurality of fingers that are external to and extend distally from the casing. Each finger has a hook. The hooks engage a needle seat to hold a retraction assembly with the needle protruding from the casing. Movement of a slider within the casing causes the hooks to release the needle seat.
Oral medicine dispensing system
A liquid dispensing system for oral administration comprises a dispenser (16,18,20) and cartridges (14) from which medicine is dispensed. Each cartridge (14) includes a hollow shell (22,24) with a septum (26) at one end, a piston (28) at the other end, and the medicine in a cavity (23) between the septum and the piston. The dispenser includes receiver (20) in which a cartridge (14) is received, a plunger (18) that can slide relative to the receiver and that has a plunging head (52) that can drive the piston (28), and a barrel (16) in which the cartridge (14), receiver (20) and plunger (18) can be received, at least partly. Once a cartridge (14) has been inserted into the receiver (20), the receiver and cartridge are inserted into the barrel (16) and a piercing head (44) ruptures the septum (26). The plunger (18) is pushed to drive the piston (28) and the medicine is dispensed by the piston, through a discharge passage (42) of the barrel (16). The septum (26) can hinge on a hinge formation (86) to act as a one-way valve to prevent unintentional flow of liquid from the cartridge.
Medical device including an air evacuation system
Medical device assemblies capable of aspirating liquid into a syringe barrel or other medical devices while evacuating any air from the syringe are described. An exemplary medical device includes a syringe barrel, plunger rod and stopper assembly having an air permeable and liquid impermeable porous portion and structure for forming a vacuum within either the stopper or the plunger rod. Described is a medical device including a syringe barrel, plunger rod and stopper assembly having an air permeable and liquid impermeable porous portion and structure for forming a vacuum within chamber between the stopper and plunger rod wherein the plunger rod includes a sealing edge and is moveable relative to the stopper. Exemplary medical devices may include a vent for allowing air that permeates through the porous portion to escape to atmosphere. Methods for aspirating a syringe barrel with a liquid are also provided.
SYRINGE, SYRINGE ASSEMBLY, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF SYRINGE
A syringe of a syringe assembly is provided with a body portion capable of being filled with a drug solution and a female port nozzle portion which extends from a distal end of the body portion and includes a communication port on a proximal end of the female port nozzle. The body portion includes a distal end wall surface and a side wall surface to which a liquid lubricant is applied. The distal end wall surface includes a concave portion arranged radially outside an inner edge portion adjacent to the communication port and concave in a distal end direction more than at least a part of the inner edge portion, and the concave portion is arranged to fully surround the communication port and may store the liquid lubricant.
Ultra-Low Waste Disposable Syringe with Self-Adjusting Integrated Safety Features
A system with a needle head that attaches to a syringe assembly. The syringe assembly contains a barrel and a plunger. The plunger has a bore opening that is accessible from within the barrel. A tubular spacer is disposed within the barrel. The tubular spacer defines a central opening. The needle head has a needle that extends from a needle base. The needle base extends into the central opening of the tubular spacer. A plug is provided that blocks access to the needle. The plug is displaced out of the central opening of the tubular spacer and into the opening in the plunger as the plunger contacts and displaces the tubular spacer in the barrel. As the plug is displaced from the tubular spacer, the plug transfers into the bore opening within the plunger. This enables the plunger to press flush against the tubular spacer.
