ADMINISTRATION MECHANISM FOR A MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE
A medicament delivery device is presented having a proximal disposable part arranged with a body and a delivery member cover telescopically arranged in relation to the body wherein the proximal disposable part is configured to receive a medicament container. A distal reusable power pack is detachably arranged with the proximal disposable part such that the delivery member cover has an extension position in which the delivery member cover is extended in the proximal direction to cover a medicament delivery member of the medicament container, and a retraction position in which the delivery member cover is retracted in the distal direction to expose said medicament delivery member. The distal reusable power pack can have a power unit, a rotational drive unit and a plunger unit, where the rotational drive unit is powered by the power unit and is configured to move the plunger unit upon being triggered.
Precision low-dose,low-waste syringes and ergonomic attachments therefor
Methods for using precision low-dose, low-waste syringe configurations, which may have a reduced diameter lumen for dispensing 0.01 ml increments of contents. Methods may employ ergonomic attachments that improve the control and precision of the syringe. An attachment main body includes a gripping surface to permit a user to engage the attachment and move the attachment main body, and thus the syringe plunger relative to the syringe barrel using sliding movement. Methods may employ an assist feature on the attachment, which may be a traction wheel. Methods for using syringes with contents of higher viscosity may employ a pair of toothed pinion gears on a wheel and which cooperate with respective toothed racks formed on or fastened to the syringe body.
CLUTCH DEVICE FOR COMPACT POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT PUMP OF A WEARABLE DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to techniques, processes, devices or systems for pump devices. In one approach, a wearable drug delivery device, may include a reservoir configured to store a fluid, the reservoir comprising a housing including an outer wall defining an interior chamber, and a drive mechanism for driving the fluid from the reservoir. The drive mechanism may include a plunger received in the interior chamber of the reservoir, a leadscrew extending from the plunger, and a clutch mechanism threadably engaged with the leadscrew, wherein the clutch mechanism is configured to allow the leadscrew to pass through the clutch mechanism when disengaged and is configured to grip the leadscrew when engaged such that the clutch mechanism rotates to advance the leadscrew and the plunger into the reservoir.
Auto injector with improved functionality
The invention relates to an auto injector, by which a fixed dose of a medicament can be injected as self-treatment, and by which needle exposure to an accessible position, injection of the medicament and retraction of the needle to an inaccessible position is automatically performed as a continuous sequence, after the auto injector is triggered. The invention provides solutions to improve the functionality of the retraction of the needle and the general experience of the use.
Drug delivery device with gear module and related method of assembly
Drug delivery devices and related methods of assembly are disclosed. The drug delivery device may include a main housing having an interior surface defining an enclosed space, and an exterior surface releasably attachable to a patient. A container may be disposed in the enclosed space and include a reservoir containing a drug and a stopper. A drive assembly may also be disposed in the enclosed space and configured to move the stopper through the reservoir to expel the drug from the reservoir. The drive assembly may include a rotational power source and a gear module. The gear module may include a mounting plate and a plurality of gears rotatably connected to the mounting plate. Furthermore, the mounting plate may be separate from the main housing.
Drive assembly for moving piston within container
A drive assembly includes a drive ribbon that can be retracted and extended. The retracted ribbon defines a spiral and the extended ribbon defines a helix. The drive ribbon is incrementally moveable between the retracted spiral configuration and extended helical configuration to move a piston within a container. A medical delivery device for advancing a piston in a medicament container to expel a medicament can include such drive assembly.
LIQUID MEDICINE INJECTION DEVICE
A medical liquid injection device includes a base body, a needle assembly mounted on the base body, a reservoir fluidly connected to the needle assembly and having a plunger therein, a driving unit that linearly moves the plunger, and an encoder unit disposed at an end of the driving unit to measure rotation of the driving unit.
Auto injector with variable plunger force
Disclosed is a method and an auto-injector for administering a medicament. The auto injector comprising: a housing; a cartridge receiver configured to receive a cartridge comprising a first stopper; a drive module coupled to move a plunger rod between a retracted plunger rod position and an extended plunger rod position, the plunger rod being configured to move the first stopper; a resistance sensor configured to provide a resistance signal indicative of resistance against movement of the plunger rod; and a processing unit coupled to the drive module and to the resistance sensor. The processing unit being configured to: control the drive module to move the plunger rod towards the extended plunger rod position with a plunger rod speed; determine plunger rod position; receive the resistance signal; and control the drive module to adjust movement of the plunger rod if the resistance signal is indicative of resistance against movement of the plunger rod above a high resistance threshold, wherein the high resistance threshold is based on the plunger rod position.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH VARIABLE PISTON FORCE
The present disclosure relates to a drug delivery device, comprising a housing, a cartridge, the cartridge containing a drug in a quantity sufficient for a plurality of doses of the drug, a bung, the bung being movably retained within the cartridge to dispense a dose of the drug from the cartridge upon movement of the bung with respect to the cartridge, and a drive mechanism, the drive mechanism being operable to transfer a driving force to the bung to dispense the dose of the drug from the cartridge. The drug delivery device is configured such that the maximal driving force which is transferrable to the bung via the drive mechanism varies and is adjusted to the current position of the bung within the cartridge.
Drive Mechanism and Drug Delivery Device Herewith
The present disclosure is generally directed to a drive mechanism for use in a drug delivery device having a cylindrical cartridge, i.e. a handheld injection device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament. The drive mechanism includes a base element, a toothed piston rod, which is guided within and movable relative to the base portion, and a drive gear having a pinion, which is rotatably held in the base element and in meshed engagement with the toothed piston rod. The toothed piston rod includes multiple rigid rod pieces which are connected by hinges. The rigid rod pieces comprise a flat plate provided with a straight toothed rack.
