The sliding contact ring (19) includes: a rubber base material (elastomer) (19c) that, when silicone oil is added thereto, allows the silicone oil to bleed therefrom; and the silicone oil added to the rubber base material (19c), and has an outer diameter (D1) larger than an inner diameter (D0) of the syringe barrel (1). The gasket main body (26) includes: a liquid contact side sliding contact surface (11a) that is provided between a liquid contact side end surface (14) and the recessed groove (18) and has an outer diameter (D2) larger than the inner diameter (D0) of the syringe barrel (1); and a rod side sliding contact surface (11b) that is provided between a rod side end surface (17a) and the recessed groove (18) and has an outer diameter (D3) equal to or smaller than the inner diameter (D0) of the syringe barrel (1).

Method of manufacturing a sealing element

A method of manufacturing a sealing element for use in a fluid conveyance device comprising the steps of: forming an elastomeric sealing body including a first body portion defining at least one annular sealing rib, and a second body portion arranged on an end of the first body portion, the second body portion comprising an annular protrusion extending radially beyond the first body portion; and forming a layer of barrier material on a free end of the second body portion, wherein the forming steps are carried out in a single molding operation.

A plunger for a syringe that includes a barrel includes: a gasket mounting portion located at a distal end of the plunger; a disk positioned at a proximal end of the gasket mounting portion; a shaft extending proximally from the disk, wherein the shaft comprises a plurality of slats extending proximally from the disk; a pressing portion located at a lower end of the shaft; and a plunger inclination-prevention unit that is located at a distal end of the shaft and is configured to inhibit the plunger from inclining inside the barrel of the syringe. The plunger inclination-prevention unit comprises one or more axially inclined plates, each having a first end disposed on the disk, extending obliquely proximal with respect to a central axis of the shaft, and having a second end disposed on one of the slats.

PLASTIC STOPPER

A stopper includes a main body portion defining an open rearward end configured to receive the plunger rod, an engagement portion provided along an inner circumference of the main body portion configured to engage at least a top portion of the plunger rod, a closed front end forming a flexible roof, and a first perimetrical skirt extending around an outer circumference of the main body portion toward the closed front end of the main body portion. When fluid pressure is increased inside the syringe barrel during an injection, the flexible roof expands in a radial direction toward an inner wall of the syringe barrel, the first perimetrical skirt is forced against the inner wall of the syringe barrel, and an engagement between the plunger rod and the engagement portion forces the main body portion to expand in the radial direction toward the inner wall of the syringe barrel.
