Dose Setting Mechanism and Drug Delivery Device Herewith
The present invention is generally directed to a dose setting mechanism and a drug delivery device herewith, i.e. a handheld injection device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament. The dose setting mechanism comprises a dose setting member (50) rotatable relative to a housing (10, 20) in a first direction for dose setting and in an opposite second direction for dose correcting, a cam ring (150) and a coupling member (70) coupled to a drive member (110). A ramped interface (52, 152) is provided between the dose setting member (50) and the cam ring (150) such that rotation of the dose setting member (50) relative to the cam ring (150) in the second direction causes axial displacement of the cam ring (150).
SPACE SAVING DRUG INJECTION DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to an injection device for setting and dispensing of a dose of a medicament, the device including an elongated housing to accommodate a cartridge filled with the medicament and sealed with a piston, a piston rod extending along a first axis and being threadedly or slidingly engaged with the housing to apply a distally directed thrust to the piston of the cartridge, a drive member rotationally or threadedly engaged with the piston rod and having a wheel section or geared section, and a drive sleeve extending along a second axis at a radial distance from the first axis and having a geared section to mesh with the wheel section or geared section of the drive member, wherein a first radial distance between first and second axes at a distal end of the drive sleeve differs from a second radial distance between first and second axes at a proximal end of the drive sleeve.
Plunger retraction for leak prevention in injection device
An injection device includes a housing, a plunger, a drive gear and a release trigger. The plunger includes a leadscrew and a cap attached thereto where, in use, the cap engages a bung of a cartridge containing medicament. The drive gear within the housing engages with the leadscrew such that rotation of the drive gear around the leadscrew drives the plunger axially through the housing towards the bung. The trigger includes a locking ring having generally axially extending teeth for engaging with corresponding teeth on the drive gear. The trigger is generally axially movable between an engaged position where the teeth are engaged and prevent rotation of the drive gear, and a disengaged position where the teeth are disengaged and enable rotation of the drive gear. Movement of the trigger between the disengaged and engaged position causes counter-rotation of the drive gear and retracts the plunger away from the bung.
Injection pen with dial back and last dose control
A medication injection pen is provided comprising a housing (218), for housing a dose set knob (220), a leadscrew (226), a driver (224), a setback member (222), and a dose stop member (228). The dose set knob (220) is rotatable with respect to said housing (218) to set a desired injection dose, and comprises at least one internal thread (291). The leadscrew (226) includes a thread element by which it is advanceable in a first direction via a corresponding thread engagement, said first direction being that which expels medication from a cartridge (36). The driver (224) is rotationally fixed to said leadscrew (226) for preventing relative rotation therebetween, said driver (224) being rotatable in a first direction to rotate and advance said leadscrew (226) in said first direction. The setback member (222) is rotationally fixed to said driver (224) for preventing relative rotation therebetween.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MICRODOSE INJECTION
A system for injecting includes a syringe body, a syringe interior, a syringe flange, and a stopper member and an injectable fluid disposed in the syringe interior. The system also includes a plunger member coupled to the stopper member. The system further includes a finger flange removably coupled to the syringe flange, the finger flange defining a pair of side openings and a pair of bumps adjacent respective side openings. Moreover, the system also includes a swing spacer rotatably coupled to the finger flange, the swing spacer defining a pair of arms, a pair of pivot pins, two pairs of slots, and a pair of indentations. The swing spacer is configured to define a distance of movement of the plunger member relative to the syringe body along a longitudinal axis of the syringe body, thereby defining a dose of the injectable fluid.
Drive mechanisms suitable for use in drug delivery devices
A drive mechanism suitable for use in drug delivery devices is disclosed. The drive mechanism may be used with injector-type drug delivery devices, such as those permitting a user to set the delivery dose. The drive mechanism may include a housing, a dose dial sleeve, and a drive sleeve. A clutch is configured to permit rotation of the drive sleeve and the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are coupled through the clutch. Conversely, when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are in a de-coupled state, rotation of the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing is permitted and rotation of the drive sleeve with respect to the housing is prevented. In the de-coupled state, axial movement of the drive sleeve transfers force in a longitudinal direction for actuation of a drug delivery device.
Medicament delivery device
A medicament delivery device is disclosed having a housing, an actuation mechanism capable of delivering doses of medicament from a medicament container and arranged with a delivery member, a shield, a guard movable within the housing, wherein the guard is operably connected to the actuation mechanism. A protective cap is releasably arranged on the housing and having a shield remover. A blocking element on the guard is movable between a blocking position and a release position and has an engagement surface to engage a proximal area of the housing. The blocking element engages with a surface of the shield remover to retain the blocking element in the blocking position. The engagement surface causes a blocking of the guard from movement and removal of the protective cap enables a movement of the blocking element to a release position when the engagement surface engages the proximal area allowing the member guard to move.
ADMINISTRATION DEVICE FOR ADMINISTRATION OF A FLUID
An administration device for in particular intravitreal administration of a fluid, the administration device having a preferably pre-filled syringe and an actuation mechanism for actuating the syringe. The administration device preferably includes a priming device, in particular in addition to the actuation mechanism. It is preferably prevented that the priming device be advanced beyond a defined end position. The syringe can preferably be moved within a housing of the administration device and/or positioned completely inside the housing.
Adjustable dose drug delivery system
A drug delivery system is provided that has an adjustable dose mechanism allowing setting and locking the dose then administration of the set dose. A method for administering a medicament using the drug delivery system is also provided.
DOSE DELIVERY MECHANISM WITH SPINNING THROUGH PREVENTION
A non-slip dose delivery mechanism includes a housing, a non-rotating piston rod, a nut, a piston rod guide, a driver, a ratchet and a brake. The non-rotating piston rod has a threaded outer surface. The nut includes an inner surface in threaded engagement with the threaded outer surface of the non-rotating piston rod. The nut is configured to rotate and translate axially in a proximal direction relative to the non-rotating piston rod during dose setting. The piston rod guide is rotationally fixed relative to the housing and is configured to prevent rotation of the piston rod. The driver includes an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface being in a rotationally fixed engagement with the nut. The ratchet is rotationally fixed to relative to the housing. The brake is positioned between the nut and the ratchet.
